Seahawks ‘vehemently’ deny they will be wearing new uniforms in 2024

This can all be settled very easily by the Seahawks declaring the throwback uniforms are their regular ones for now and for all time.

A lot of news came out of the league meetings last week in Orlando, from the new kickoff rules and roster changes to hip-drop tackles being banned. Whenever there’s a flurry of NFL news like that there are bound to be some things that slip through the cracks. Here’s one such case that we missed in all the action.

According to Bob Condotta at the Seattle Times, the Seahawks “vehemently” denied the Reddit rumor that the team will be wearing new uniforms this season.

While there’s something to be said for variety, if it ain’t broke you shouldn’t try to fix it. This can all be settled very easily by the Seahawks declaring the throwback uniforms are their regular ones for now and for all time.

What do you think?

Last week there was a rumor going around that started on the team’s Reddit page that the Seahawks would be changing their uniforms soon. The idea was to integrate the team’s supremely-popular throwback look that we saw a couple times in 2023 into something a little more modern.

There are all kinds of ideas out there for what they might look like, but free safety Quandre Diggs clearly likes these.

We certainly wouldn’t complain. What do you think?

Everyone loves the new Seahawks throwback jerseys, some want more

Here’s what folks are saying about Seattle’s glorious new threads.

Yesterday the Seattle Seahawks revealed their glorious new alternate uniform – a refurbished version of their bold green, blue and silver look from the 80s and 90s. As expected, the throwbacks are a hit. On Twitter the reviews for the new look are almost universally positive – no small feat on a social media site that thrives on misery and lies.

In fact, while the Seahawks are scheduled to wear them Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns and again Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys, they’re so popular that a lot of people want to see the team adopt the throwbacks as their full-time uniforms. There’s even a petition for the team to wear them their first game of the season.

Here’s what folks are saying about Seattle’s glorious new threads.

If you’re gonna go 6-11, you might as well do it looking like this.

The Seattle Seahawks had the cleanest look in the NFL back in the day. While we like the look they have now it’ll never approach those beloved throwbacks when it comes to aesthetics. This uniform concept we found on Twitter comes pretty close, though.

Mostly inspired by those bold classic colors, this is the prettiest thing you’ll see on the internet today.

Seahawks ‘getting closer’ to wearing throwback uniforms, but it won’t happen in 2022

Team president Chuck Arnold said today that they’re “getting closer” but they won’t be wearing the throwbacks in the 2022 season.

The Seattle Seahawks had the cleanest look in pro football for a long time. That streak ended when they switched to the heavy blue uniforms in 2002. While the new look that started in 2012 is definitely an improvement, it’s still not in the same league as the vibrant blue, green and silver that they sported in the 80s.

A lot of Seattle fans want to see their club wearing their throwback uniforms as many other NFL teams have in recent years. Team president Chuck Arnold said today that they’re “getting closer” but they won’t be wearing the throwbacks in the 2022 season.

This group may be really bad at winning football games right now but at least they can look good doing it.

Since NFL Network stated the 3-8 Seahawks are in “win-now mode” after signing Adrian Peterson, the team has been the laughingstock of the league.

This group may be really bad at winning football games right now but at least they can look good doing it. In Sunday’s game against the 49ers, the team will be debuting a new look at home: blue tops with gray pants.
