WATCH: Juwan Johnson snags touchdown near the edge of the endzone

WATCH: Juwan Johnson snags the Saints’ fourth touchdown of the day at the edge of the endzone

The New Orleans Saints were in a back-and-forth battle with the Cleveland Browns for most of their matchup, however, they began to pull away with a touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Juwan Johnson that put them ahead 28-14. Johnson was able to get just open enough near the right edge of the endzone, and Carr placed it where he could catch it and still get his feet down in bounds before he fell out.

This was Johnson’s second touchdown of the year in somewhat of a down season so far, but hopefully with another touchdown to his name and some production to get the Saints further ahead in this game, he can come around and make some more plays down the stretch.

Panthers got the biggest play of their season vs. Saints

Ja’Tavion Sanders’ 46-yard reception was the Panthers’ first 40-yard play of the season, but it’s right on brand for the Saints defense:

Entering Week 9, the New Orleans Saints have allowed the most 40-yard plays in the NFL. The Carolina Panthers hadn’t registered a gain of 40 yards all season. That changed in the third quarter.

Tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders took a short pass and rumbled forward for a 46-yard catch. This is the longest play of the season by the Panthers offense. After catching the pass, Sanders attempted to hurdle over Tyrann Mathieu. Mathieu stopped the hurdle, but didn’t bring Sanders down.

It was an athletic play you don’t normally see. Sanders came down and kept moving as if his momentum wasn’t stalled.

This is a representation of who the Saints have become. The defense isn’t good anymore, and there’s not a side of the ball you feel you can lean on anymore. Bryce Young looked more comfortable than ever and that explosive play is proof.

WATCH: Louis Rees-Zammit makes outstanding catch at Chiefs training camp

#Chiefs RB Louis Rees-Zammit looked like a seasoned veteran during training camp after hauling in this impressive catch at practice.

The Kansas City Chiefs are taking a brief break from training camp on Saturday before making a final push to prepare for their first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.

Before their short breather on Saturday, Chiefs players put on a show during workouts earlier in the week, showing fans what they should expect during Kansas City’s Super Bowl defense campaign in 2024.

During Friday’s practice session on the field at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, promising young running back Louis Rees-Zammit made an incredible catch deep downfield in one-on-one drills.

Check out this video of Rees-Zammit’s impressive grab that was posted by @ArrowheadLive on Twitter:

Though Rees-Zammit isn’t likely to push Isiah Pacheco for a starting spot in Andy Reid’s offense, plays like this are a good indication that he is adjusting well to life in the NFL as a rookie, and may make an impact for the team as a backup this season.

WATCH: Xavier Worthy shows off speed at Chiefs training camp

Check out this video of Xavier Worthy showing off his speed during practice at #Chiefs training camp on Thursday.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft to help revitalize their offense, which saw its wide receivers struggle last season.

Though second-year wideout Rashee Rice will likely top Kansas City’s depth chart at the position, Worthy’s addition is expected to add elite speed to the Chiefs’ receiving corps and give quarterback Patrick Mahomes another exciting option to target in the passing game.

As training camp nears the end of its third week, the Texas product is starting to settle in during the team’s recent practice sessions and was seen catching a long pass from Mahomes during drills on Thursday.

Take a look at Worthy’s latest highlight from St. Joseph, which was featured by the Chiefs’ official Twitter account:

Worthy, who ran the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL combine history back in March, is poised to be one of the league’s most dynamic deep threats if he can replicate his training camp performances during the regular season.

WATCH: Chris Olave secures must-see juggling touchdown catch

WATCH: Saints WR Chris Olave secures must-see juggling touchdown vs. Falcons

Whew. Chris Olave made one of the plays of the day on this juggling touchdown catch against the Atlanta Falcons — somehow keeping his balance while sprinting into the end zone and tracking the football as it deflected from one hand to another.

But the New Orleans Saints’ star wideout secured the catch to score a go-ahead touchdown. It’s taken some time for Olave to get in sync with his new quarterback Derek Carr, but he’s finished the year strong and is consistently coming through with tough catches when the team needs them.

And he’s still developing. Olave has made strides this year in fighting for contested catches and running for more yards after the catch. If he can take another step forward in 2024, there’s no telling how high his ceiling might be.

WATCH: A.T. Perry scores a touchdown on his second NFL reception

WATCH: Rookie receiver A.T. Perry scored a touchdown on his second NFL reception, with Jameis Winston at QB

Whew. Why were the New Orleans Saints keeping A.T. Perry on the bench again? The rookie draft pick stepped up in a huge moment against the Minnesota Vikings after Michael Thomas left the game with a knee injury, catching his first pass in the NFL to gain 23 yards.

Then the Saints called his number again, with Jameis Winston filling in for the injured Derek Carr. Winston threw a fastball to Perry in the end zone for his second career reception — and a much-needed touchdown to cut into Minnesota’s deficit.

Perry’s talents were obvious on his Wake Forest game tape, but the Saints had him working his way up the depth chart as a blocking specialist. It didn’t help that he played the same role in college as Thomas has in the NFL, so there weren’t many opportunities for him so long as the veteran was in the lineup. Here’s hoping he can continue to make the most of the chances he does get.

WATCH: Saints wide receiver Chris Olave secures a must-see touchdown catch vs. Vikings

The New Orleans Saints offense had not had much to cheer about against the Minnesota Vikings. up until Chris Olave came down with the first touchdown of the day.

Jameis Winston entered the game for an injured Derek Carr in the third quarter against the Minnesota Vikings. He went 3-for-3 during his first drive and capped it with a great throw on the 14-yard touchdown to Olave. It was Winston’s first touchdown pass of the season.

Though the season has not consistently been what many had hoped for with Olave, he still has these flashes of star potential every now and then. There is still a lot to be hopeful for with the young receiver. He’s up to three touchdowns on the season and seven for his career.

WATCH: Rashid Shaheed blazes past Colts defenders for 58-yard touchdown

The New Orleans Saints kept the offense rolling in the first half against the Indianapolis Colts as Derek Carr connected with Rashid Shaheed to take the top off the Colts defense for a 58-yard touchdown catch.

Carr had a much needed bounce-back performance in the first half. He was 9-12 for 174 yards with two touchdown passes against to start things off against the Colts as the Saints went into the locker room up 21-20.

Shaheed is up to three receiving touchdowns on the year and four overall with his punt return touchdown included. The former undrafted receiver is having a nice sophomore season as he constantly shows off his speed. He has grown into a crucial piece of the Saints offense.

#Chiefs WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette put Kansas City in field goal range on the team’s final drive of the second quarter against the #Browns.

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette followed up his exceptional performance against the Arizona Cardinals with an impressive first half against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.

He made his mark on Kansas City’s final offensive drive of the first half, securing two catches that helped put the Chiefs in a position to cut into Cleveland’s lead heading into the halftime break.

His first reception of the drive went for 30 yards and got Kansas City onto the Browns’ side of the field.

The second grab came two plays later and went for 28 yards to get the Chiefs in field goal range just before the two-minute warning.

Smith-Marsette is among Kansas City’s most underrated pass catchers and has shown outstanding proficiency in Andy Reid’s offense through training camp and the preseason. These plays may not count toward his regular season statistics, but Smith-Marsette’s effort won’t go unnoticed by the Chiefs’ coaching staff heading into cut week.
