Georgia football recruiting target Carlton Madden has made his college decision. Madden has committed to the University of Georgia.

Madden, a three-star linebacker, plays high school football for Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. Madden is the No. 785 overall prospect in the nation.

The 6-foot-3, 239-pound linebacker is the No. 36 edge rusher and the No. 79 player in Georgia, per the 247Sports composite.

Madden previously announced his decision to commit to the Colorado football program, but he later decommitted after the Bulldogs started giving him more recruiting attention. Now, he’s staying home.

Madden visited Georgia in early June and has checked out a few programs since then.

The three-star outside linebacker’s scholarship offers include Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Washington State, and Georgia Tech. He announced his commitment to UGA via his Twitter account:

Carlton Madden picked Georgia over Oregon, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Colorado. Kirby Smart and Georgia have the No. 4 recruiting class in the country with 17 commitments.

2022 three-star defensive end Carlton Madden has announced his top five schools. Madden will choose among Georgia, Oregon, Colorado, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Out of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Ga., Madden (6-foot-3, 239 pounds) is rated as the No. 36 edge rusher in the nation, the No. 76 recruit in the state of Georgia and the No. 769 recruit overall in the 2022 class, per 247Sports.Β 

Madden was once committed to Buffalo but announced his decommittment this summer after attending a Georgia football camp where he was offered a scholarship by the Bulldogs.

Georgia currently holds the No. 6 ranked class in the country for 2022 and is reportedly leading the way for Madden, whoΒ will announce his college decision on Sept. 18.

As Georgia football prepares for a big upcoming season, coach Kirby Smart and staff are making moves on the recruiting trail.

The most recent offer in the class of 2022 is three-star linebacker Carlton Madden out of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia.

Recruits were finally allowed to visit campuses and meet coaches face-to-face when the NCAA ended its dead period on June 1.

Madden (6 feet, 3 inches, 239 pounds) is rated the No. 37 edge defender and the No. 82 player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports composite.

While Madden is a Colorado commit, Georgia has made a recent push after defensive coordinator Dan Lanning took Madden aside and offered him a scholarship when Madden’s team came to Athens for a 7-on-7 tournament this week.
