NFL trade deadline: 7 cornerbacks the Bills could target

Cornerbacks the Buffalo Bills could target at the 2020 NFL Trade Deadline.

The 2020 NFL trade deadline is right around the corner. It’s slated for Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Sitting at 5-2 overall and in control of their own destiny at this point, could the Buffalo Bills add to their arsenal to solidify themselves as a legitimate contender in the AFC? Despite their record, the Bills do certainly have a hole or two they could stand to fill in their roster.

In this part of Bills Wire’s trade deadline coverage, we’ll take a look at a couple of cornerbacks the Bills could target as Tuesday inches closer and closer:

Three former Vols will not play Sunday

Story detailing the postponement of Titans game against the Steelers. Three former Vols are on Pittsburgh’s roster.

NASHVILLE — The National Football League officially made its first postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The league announced Thursday that it would postpone the game between Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee until later this season, due to a coronavirus outbreak in the Titans’ organization.

Several Tennessee players and team personnel have tested positive for the virus since the Titans played Minnesota last week.

A postponement of the game between two undefeated teams means that a trio of former Vols will not be in action Sunday.

Backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs, defensive back Cameron Sutton and punter Dustin Colquitt all play for the Steelers.

After years of subpar coverage defenses, the Steelers finally got it right

It’s been six seasons since Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark, two of the best safeties in recent team history, were part of the Steelers secondary. There have been a dozen-plus starting defensive backs during that span who have come and gone.

With all their power, the Steelers have tried for years to find replacements for Polamalu, Clark, Ike Taylor, Deshea Townsend, and, yes, even William Gay.

After struggling to strike a chord with the secondary that has, on average, ranked 15th in five seasons, the Steelers might have just finally found something.

The Steelers secondary shot up from 17th in 2018 to fifth in 2019. According to Pro Football Focus, the defense as a whole went on to compile the second-most interceptions (20) and allow the second-lowest passer rating (85.4) among all 32 teams.

Here are the Steelers that are making it happen.

Report: Panthers tight ends coach FaceTimes with Fresno State prospect

Report: Panthers tight ends coach FaceTimes with Fresno State prospect.

The Panthers appear to be focused on Day 3 prospects and potential undrafted free agents with regards to their video conference meetings in preparation for the 2020 NFL draft.

According to Justin Melo at Draft Wire, the team’s new tight ends coach Brian Angelichio had an 80-minute FaceTime meeting with Cameron Sutton from Fresno State.

Like TCU running back Sewo Olonilua and Northern Colorado quarterback Jacob Knipp, Sutton is another prospect who likely isn’t on many fans’ radar. He played in only 10 games over the last two seasons, totaling nine catches, 154 yards and no touchdowns.

Sutton was not invited to the combine, but he shared his athletic testing results on Twitter a week ago.

The Panthers likely see him primarily as a depth option at tight end. It’s not a deep draft class at this position, so there’s a good chance they will wait until after Day 3 is done to address it.
