2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cam Coleman rises in On3’s 2024 On300

2024 5-Star WR and Texas A&M commit Cam Coleman rises in On3’s 2024 On300 after the completion of his 2023 High School season.

Amid all the smoke surrounding 2024 five-star wide receiver and Texas A&M commit Cam Coleman, the recent rumor regarding his potential flip to the Auburn Tigers is based on one beat writer’s “source” or, more realistically, opinion.

I’m not saying this isn’t possible, as first-year Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze is still the offensive guru we saw during his years at Ole Miss and Liberty. Still, Coleman’s family ties to Texas place him in a difficult spot, especially during Texas A&M’s coaching transition after the firing of now-former head coach Jimbo Fisher, who had been recruiting Coleman since his early high school playing days.

On the field, Coleman is one of the more dynamic playmakers in the country and the top wide receiver in Alabama. After spending most of his time in the Top 10 of On3’s 2024 On300 rankings, Coleman is now ranked 5th, for good reason.

In 11 games during his 2023 senior season at Phenix City (AL), Coleman recorded 53 receptions, 1,195 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns while playing as a true X receiver throughout the year. At 6-4 and nearly 190 pounds, Coleman’s length, speed, and incredible catch radius have made him the most sought-after offensive prospect in the class.

Five-star TAMU commit sets sights on December official visit

The Gators are slated to get a visit from this five-star pass-catcher in December.

The Florida Gators are staying on the recruiting trail for a five-star wide receiver, even though he’s already committed elsewhere.

Class of 2024 prospect [autotag]Cameron Coleman[/autotag] was in Gainesville for the showdown between Florida and the Arkansas Razorbacks, and he enjoyed his time on campus.

The blue-chip recruit was asked about his experience in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium by Swamp247.

“It was pretty nice,” Coleman said. “It was pretty electrifying. I finally got to see the Gators in action, and we saw them in action.”

The 6-foot-3-inch wide receiver also stated that he wants to return to Florida’s campus before making his decision.

“That is the plan for sure,” said Coleman. “I am going to update everyone when I get that. It will be in December. We are in the playoffs right now.”

Coleman said he likes the usage of young players on the Gators roster and took note of the performance of freshman wideout Eugene Wilson.

The five-star recruit was asked what he liked most about the Gators.

“Proving that freshmen play early,” Coleman said. “(Wilson) was an example, then the defensive player (Kelby Collins). He’s another example of freshmen playing early. That is what they were preaching to me that freshmen can play early. It shows in the game.”

Coleman is the No. 8 national recruit on the 247Sports ratings and No. 3 at his position. He’s currently listed as a “hard commit” to Texas A&M.

Gators Wire will keep an eye out for Coleman’s announcement about when he’ll make another official visit.

In the meantime, the Florida Gators are packing up for a road trip to Baton Rouge for a matchup against the LSU Tigers. The showdown is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will broadcast on SEC Network.

5-star WR Cameron Coleman remains locked in to Texas A&M, but has additional school visits scheduled

The five-star wide receiver remains locked in to Texas A&M, but is doing his due diligence with other school visits on the horizon.

The social media cynics got an extra dose of amusement after it was reported that a particular Texas A&M five-star commit would be taking visits with additional schools.

Cameron Coleman, the six-foot-three, 180-pound future star out of Central (AL), started the fireworks early when he committed to the Aggies on July 4. Since that milestone, he’s been a continuous highlight reel as he continues to dominate during his senior season. But while he continues to make defenses pay on the field, he’s simultaneously doing his due diligence off it.

As reported by On3’s Chad Simmons, Coleman remains committed to Texas A&M, but he still plans to visit other schools throughout this fall. Colorado and Penn State are officially on the list, while Florida and Florida State are among the possible visits. Additionally, Coleman echoed his intent to get back to Auburn as well, who were in the running down to his commitment back in July.

“I am going to take more visits, and I will get back to Auburn soon. I am planning to take official visits to Colorado and Penn State. Florida and Florida State might get official visits, too.”

Is it time to sound the alarm in College Station? No, this does not appear to be a “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” scenario. Rather, it sounds like Coleman is doing his due diligence just like any other top recruit should.

You always want to make sure you exhaust every possible scenario before making a life-changing decision, and Coleman is doing just that.

It’s also keen to note that while he has additional school visits scheduled, Coleman is expected to be in Aggieland this weekend as Texas A&M faces Auburn in their first SEC game of the year. Seeing a dominant performance from the likes of Evan Stewart would serve as an ample reminder of why Coleman is next in line of a long list of Aggie wide receiver greats.

Multiple 2024 Aggie commits rise in On3’s updated On300 rankings

Two 2024 Texas A&M commits, including five-star WR Cam Coleman and five-star OT Weston Davis, have risen in On3’s updated On300 rankings.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is borderline elite from a talent perspective, and even though several of the committed prospects possess the pedigree to represent the class, five-star wide receiver Cameron “Cam” Coleman and now five-star rated offensive tackle Weston Davis look to contribute on offense as soon as they step on campus in 2024.

Already excelling in their respective senior high school seasons, both players have now risen in On3’s newest On300 rankings, starting with Cameron Coleman’s notable rise from the No.12 spot to his current 5th-ranking as second-ranked wide receiver prospect in the cycle behind Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith and the No.1-ranked player in Alabama.

Weston Davis’ meteoric rise has got to be exciting for Jimbo Fisher and his staff, soaring 75 spots from his previous 93 ranking to 18th in the class, ranked as the No.3 offensive tackle prospect, and the fourth-ranked player in Texas.

These rankings are fluid and will likely change again before National Signing Day in February, but let me make one thing clear regarding Coleman and Davis’s trajectory to sign the dotted line with the Maroon and White: Texas A&M’s 2023 offense, which has so far been one of the more productive units in the country behind sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman, and to keep Coleman and Davis excited to join the party eventually, success on the field must reach a state of consistency.

Texas A&M will host the Auburn Tigers at Kyle Field on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11:00 a.m., where it will air on ESPN.

2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman is a superstar in the making

After another huge receiving night, 2024 5-star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman is certainly the most talented receiver in the cycle.

Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher pulled off the recruiting coup of the summer after landing 2024 five-star wide receiver Cameron “Cam” Coleman on July 4, which may have come as a surprise to most of us. Still, after developing a lasting relationship with Fisher and his staff since his freshman year at Central (AL), the Aggies were always in the running.

In the first two games during his final senior season, Coleman helped lead Central to wins over Hewitt-Trussville while recording nine receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns in their season opener, following it up with six receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns, including a 54-yard score in Central’s 51-0 shutout vs. Smith’s Station.

After a so-so showing (3 receptions, 48 yards) in the 48-7 victory against Enterprise last week, Coleman once again created a single-game highlight reel in Central’s 28-18 win over Opelika to reach 4-0 on the young season, reeling in a 37-yard touchdown to pad the lead with two minutes remaining in the first half.

For those who only pay attention to the five-star designation, Coleman’s consistent playmaking ability, coupled with his deep speed and twitchy athleticism, separates him from most of his fellow 2024 wide receivers in the cycle and joins Drelon Miller, Debron Gatling, Jaylan Hornsby, and Earnest Campbell at the position in one of the more loaded wide receiver stables.

While Coleman remains fully committed to the Maroon and White, first-year Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze, who has already pulled off several notable recruiting flips since his arrival, joined Texas A&M WR coach Dameyune Craig on the sideline to take in Coleman’s outing, so definitely something to watch out for ahead of National Signing Day in February.

2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman continues to dominate during his senior season

2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman has been dubbed a “human highlight reel” in the midst of his senior season at Central HS.

The highest-ranked player and the only five-star prospect committed to Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, wide receiver Cameron Coleman, has continued to dominate week to week during his senior season at Central (AL), first defeating Hewitt-Trussville while recording nine receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns in their season opener, following it up with six receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns, including a 54 yards score in Central’s 51-0 shutout vs. Smtih’s Station.

Coleman excitingly committed to the Aggies on the eve of July 4, surprising several of us in the Texas A&M media sphere, who were unanimously informed that the Auburn Tigers were the leaders in his recruitment, but before becoming one of the highest-ranked players in the 2024 cycle, Coleman’s relationship with the Aggies coaching staff sealed the deal.

“My relationship with Coach (Dameyune) Craig was the tightest out of the bunch. They have a new offensive coordinator, Coach Bobby (Petrino), and the Aggie network outside of life after football you can get a job after football, and it was a place I felt comfortable with.”

Yes, it may be overused, but Cameron “Cam” Coleman’s future in Aggieland is oh-so bright.

2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman shines in senior season opener

2024 5-Star WR and Aggie commit Cameron Coleman shines in senior season debut at Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama.

The highest-ranked player and the only five-star prospect committed to Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, wide receiver Cameron Coleman, unsurprisingly put on an absolute clinic in the first game of his 2023 senior season at Central (AL) on Friday night.

Within Central’s 48-24 win over Hewitt-Trussville on Friday, Cameron Coleman led the offense in his usual fashion with nine receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns, looking like a man among boys and providing just a glimpse of what he’ll bring to College Station in 2024.

According to 247Sports Composite, Coleman is currently positioned as the 12th-ranked player in the 2024 recruiting class, the 3rd-ranked wide receiver, and the No.1-ranked player in Alabama.

Several 2024 Texas A&M Football commits rise in On3’s newest player rankings

Texas A&M’s 2024 class is loaded with talent, and several commits have received huge boosts in the newest On3, On300 player rankings.

On Monday afternoon, several members of Texas A&M’s Top 10-ranked 2024 recruiting class received significant boosts in On3’s On300 player rankings, while the Aggies’ Team rankings also rose from 9th to 7th, as just two weeks remain before the recruiting dead period ends on Tuesday, July 25.

New Jersey quarterback Miles O’Neill, who committed to the program on June 14, catapulted from being unranked in the Top 300 to his current position at 58th in the country, the most significant rise of any previously unranked prospect in the 2024 cycle, while receiving a four-star designation as well. O’Neill skyrocketing the recruiting ranks is no surprise; his live arm and sneaky duel-threat ability are hard to ignore in a quarterback-rich class.

Five-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman committed to the Maroon and White excitingly on Tuesday, July 4, and ever since that day, his recruiting profile has garnered attention. Rising seven spots from 13th to 6th in the rankings, while it’s hard to imagine him not making his way within the Top 5 by the end of his senior season at Phenix City High School, he is poised to be his most productive yet.

Other 2024 Aggie commits to saw an increase in their rankings include four-star OT Weston Davis (20th from 102nd), four-star IOL Coen Enchols (222nd from 375th), and four-star Tight end Eric Karner (288th from 375th), and now four-star Edge Gabriel Reliford’s meteoric rise from 441st to 121st.

Interestingly, multiple commits saw significant dips in the rankings, including four-star DE Dealyn Evans (67th to 138th), four-star S Jordan Pride (128th to 168th), and most surprisingly, dynamic four-star WR Drelon Millers’ drop from 82nd to 175th. Well, when it comes to rankings by any outlet, they should always be taken with a grain of salt, but as things stand, Jimbo Fisher and his staff are very close to landing a top 5 2024 recruiting class when it’s all said and done.

What Texas A&M is getting in 5-star Wide receiver, Cameron Coleman

After landing one of the top offensive playmakers in the 2024 cycle, 5-star WR Cameron Coleman brings size and speed to Texas A&M’s future roster.

Last week, on Tuesday, July 4 to be exact, Texas A&M landed one of the top players in the 2024 cycle, five-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman, currently ranked as the 11th player in the class, and the No. 3 wide receiver prospect, excitingly committed to the Aggies on Independence Day, edging out the Auburn Tigers in what was revealed as down to the wire decision.

As nearly every outlet covering recruiting will tell you, five-star wide receivers in the last three or four recruiting cycles, which are seen as the “complete package” at the position, are 6-2 to 6-4, and if they are below the 6-1 thresh mark, elite speed, and athleticism is a must. For Coleman, who stands at 6-3 and 180 pounds, every desired trait, ranking from vertical speed, consistent downfield separation, catch radius, and YAC (yards after catch) ability, Cameron “Cam” Coleman has it all.

Primarily lining up at the X receiver spot due to his downfield speed and length, Coleman averaged 17.5 yards per catch in 2022, and no matter what coverage the defense presented, Coleman consistently skied over defenders on post rounds and was a nightmare matchup in the red zone in fades and slants.

Mirroring former Aggie wide receiver Jeff Fuller’s play style as a physical boundary receiver who thrived near the sideline and contributed as a blocker, Coleman’s potential in the Aggies’ spread/west coast offense under new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino will provide him plenty of big play opportunities once he learns the playbook.

The 2024 season will be a learning curve for Coleman, who must adjust to the elevated competition, especially in the SEC. Overall, Texas A&M’s 2024 wide receiver depth chart will likely be the most talented group in the country, as Coleman is already joined by the four-star receiver trio of Drelon Miller, Jaylon Hornsby, and Debron Gatling, with potentially more additions to come.

2024 5-star WR Cam Coleman discusses his commitment to Texas A&M with 247Sports

After his stunning commitment to Texas A&M on Tuesday, 2024, 5-star WR Cam Coleman discussed his decision with 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong.

Suppose you’ve read anything we’ve published in the past two weeks. In that case, you’re clearing up to date with Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting hot streak, as Jimbo Fisher and his incredible staff have added eight players since Thursday, June 22, while most recently gaining by far the most talented player in the 2024 cycle (in my humble opinion), as five-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman, nicknamed “Mini-Megatron” by some, committed to the Maroon and White excitedly, on Tuesday, July 4, just hours before fireworks covered the night sky all across America.

After his stunning commitment, which, as I’ve personally dubbed “the Coleman effect,” Texas A&M now sits as the 9th-ranked class in 247Sports’ updated 2024 team rankings, and as a gentle reminder to those who still aren’t paying attention, they aren’t done yet; not even close.

In a detailed interview with 247Sports’ National Recruiting Director Steve Wiltfong, Coleman discussed what went into his decision during the final days leading up to his announcement after his official campus visit on June 16 while focusing on his relationship with Aggies’ WR coach Dameyune Craig and newly minted offensive coordinator, Bobby Petrino.

“Really, the last time I went up there, I felt comfortable, and it was the place I wanted to be,” Coleman stated.

“My relationship with Coach (Dameyune) Craig was the tightest out of the bunch. They have a new offensive coordinator Coach Bobby (Petrino), and the Aggie network outside of life after football you can get a job after football, and it was a place I felt comfortable with.”

As we all know, results on the field are all that matter and will directly affect the outcome of Texas A&M’s 2024 class, but for Coleman, the Aggies’ 2022 season was clearly a result of a youthful roster finding their way, leading to what should be a very bright future.

“Last year they had a lot of freshmen starting,” Coleman stated. “It’s hard to win with all these freshmen in the SEC. Now they have experience going across the board, and they have more people coming in to help win the National Championship.”

Cameron Coleman is an absolute stud, and his recruiting ranking reflects his incredible play on the gridiron. Ranked as the No.11 player in the class, the No.3-ranked wide receiver, and the No.1-ranked player in Alabama, the sky is truly the limit for the man who shares my name. Gig ’em, Cameron!
