Five-star TAMU commit sets sights on December official visit

The Gators are slated to get a visit from this five-star pass-catcher in December.

The Florida Gators are staying on the recruiting trail for a five-star wide receiver, even though he’s already committed elsewhere.

Class of 2024 prospect [autotag]Cameron Coleman[/autotag] was in Gainesville for the showdown between Florida and the Arkansas Razorbacks, and he enjoyed his time on campus.

The blue-chip recruit was asked about his experience in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium by Swamp247.

“It was pretty nice,” Coleman said. “It was pretty electrifying. I finally got to see the Gators in action, and we saw them in action.”

The 6-foot-3-inch wide receiver also stated that he wants to return to Florida’s campus before making his decision.

“That is the plan for sure,” said Coleman. “I am going to update everyone when I get that. It will be in December. We are in the playoffs right now.”

Coleman said he likes the usage of young players on the Gators roster and took note of the performance of freshman wideout Eugene Wilson.

The five-star recruit was asked what he liked most about the Gators.

“Proving that freshmen play early,” Coleman said. “(Wilson) was an example, then the defensive player (Kelby Collins). He’s another example of freshmen playing early. That is what they were preaching to me that freshmen can play early. It shows in the game.”

Coleman is the No. 8 national recruit on the 247Sports ratings and No. 3 at his position. He’s currently listed as a “hard commit” to Texas A&M.

Gators Wire will keep an eye out for Coleman’s announcement about when he’ll make another official visit.

In the meantime, the Florida Gators are packing up for a road trip to Baton Rouge for a matchup against the LSU Tigers. The showdown is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will broadcast on SEC Network.
