Bucs’ playoff percentage ahead of Week 18

Here’s what the odds say about Tampa Bay’s playoff chances ahead of the last game of the season:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8) had the opportunity to secure playoff berth against the New Orleans Saints (8-8) on Sunday and fell well short of that goal. Baker Mayfield threw two interceptions and couldn’t gain any efficiency on offense until the fourth quarter.

The Bucs playoff dreams aren’t dead, though. Tampa Bay can redeem itself against the Carolina Panthers (2-14) 1 p.m. on Sunday. A victory clinches the NFC South Divisional title and places it in the hands of the Bucs for the third consecutive year.

According to the New York Times playoff simulator, the Bucs have a 56% chance of making the playoffs. Tampa Bay’s most simple route to the playoffs is a victory, however, they can also can secure playoff berth in two other ways.

The Bucs can secure the NFC South Division title if they tie and a tie or loss by the New Orleans Saints. Tampa Bay can lock in a Wild Card seed with a tie, a loss by the Seahawks, and a tie or a loss by the Green Bay Packers.

The Bucs have a 72% chance of winning on Sunday according to ESPN Analytics. Tampa Bay is a 4.5-point favorite on BetMGM.

Bucs Game: Live updates from Bucs vs. Panthers in Week 13

Check out our live updates from Sunday’s NFC South matchup below:

To say things have snowballed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be underselling — on Sunday, they’ll try to stop an avalanche.

The Bucs have lost six of their last seven, but they’ll try to pick up another win today against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers just fired their head coach in Frank Reich and will be playing their first game without him, so this could be an opportunity for the Bucs to pick up a win and stay in an NFC South race that they are somehow just one game back from.

Bucs Wire staff picks for Week 13 against the Panthers

Here is how we see Sunday’s game going for Tampa Bay:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need a win, and they need it soon. So what better opportunity than the 1-10 Carolina Panthers?

No win comes easy in the NFL, but the Panthers are fresh off firing their head coach in Frank Reich and have the current worst record in the league. The Bucs are on a losing skid, dropping six of their last seven, and this game should be a crucial one given that it is an NFC South rival and the Bucs are just one game back from the division lead.

Here is how Bucs Wire’s staff sees this matchup going for Tampa Bay:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have known plenty of defeats in their last stretch of football, but Week 13 gives them as good of an opportunity as they’ll have for the rest of the year.

The Bucs are 4-7 and set to play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in an attempt to pick up another win. The team has lost six of its last seven games after starting the year 3-1, and while its record is poor, Tampa Bay still remains one game back in the NFC South. As such, divisional games are extremely important from here on out, so the Bucs will need this one to stay in it.

The Panthers, meanwhile, have fired their head coach in Frank Reich after just 11 games. Just like last year, the Bucs won’t play the Panthers’ head coach, instead facing interim head coach Chris Tabor when the team comes to town.

According to BetMGM, the Bucs are 5.5-point favorites against the Panthers. The over-under is set at 37.

Will Tampa Bay finally get a win after a slew of losses? Or will the Panthers start their second interim HC era in as many years with a win?

Bucs reveal uniform combo for Week 13

It’s colder outside, but the Bucs still won’t bring out their red jerseys.

Another game, another white jersey.

The Bucs got a little zesty in Week 12 by bringing out their pewter uniforms, but it’s back to our regularly scheduled programming in Week 13. Tampa Bay is set to play the Carolina Panthers at home on Sunday, and when they do, they’ll be donning their now-classic white-over-pewter look.

The Bucs traditionally wait until it is a bit colder to break out their red jerseys, but they still won’t bring them out — the team has only done so once, in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles on prime time. The team has worn their white-over-pewter combo quite a bit, with this being the fifth time. The team is 2-2 when wearing these uniforms, with their most recent appearance in San Francisco two weeks ago resulting in a loss. This game will make this combo the team’s most-worn this year, right ahead of its white-on-white combo that has been worn four times.
