Wild Card picks: Who experts and pundits are taking in Bucs vs. Eagles

See how experts and pundits picked Tampa Bay’s upcoming Wild Card showdown against Philadelphia in Raymond James Stadium:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing playoff football, and they’ll host a matchup that appears quite controversial among football fans, experts and pundits alike,

The Bucs finished the year 9-8 as a division winner, boasting the worst record of any playoff team in either conference. Despite this, though, they’ve won five of their last six and their opponents, the Philadelphia Eagles, have lost five of their last six. The Eagles are coming in with more injuries than Tampa Bay, but despite that, BetMGM has them favored over the Bucs by three points.

Here are how the internet’s experts and pundits picked this upcoming game, with Tampa Bay hosting as home underdogs:

Bucs Wire staff picks for the NFC Wild Card matchup against the Eagles

See how we see Monday’s big Wild Card matchup shaping out as the Bucs face the Eagles at home:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have played some important games this season in their hunt for the NFC South, now, every game is important, and to lose is to go home.

The Bucs are set to play the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round on Monday for their eighth playoff game in four years. They come into the matchup as betting underdogs, but public perception doesn’t quite match — the Eagles have lost five of their last six games and come into the contest far more injured than Tampa Bay. Should the Bucs win, they’ll move on to the divisional round, and should they lose, their 2023 campaign will be cut short.

We here at Bucs Wire make our staff picks for every game, and of course, this is no exception. See how we picked Tampa Bay’s playoff matchup below:

Bucs Wire staff picks for Week 18 against the Panthers

Here are our picks for Tampa Bay’s big NFC South-clinching matchup (again).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers couldn’t quite take care of business against the New Orleans Saints in Week 17. Now, during the last game of the regular season, they have a chance to rectify that — and it will be against a very manageable opponent.

The Bucs are set to face off against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and should they win, they’ll make the playoffs with third-straight division title. Lose, though, and they’ll almost certainly be sitting at home while either the Saints or the Atlanta Falcons take home the crown instead.

As always, Bucs Wire has our picks for the matchup, and we’re all pretty much in agreement on this one despite the stakes.

The Bucs have one more shot to clinch the South — cast your vote in our poll to predict the winner of Week 17’s Bucs vs. Panthers matchup!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t clinch the division against the New Orleans Saints in Week 17. Not every team gets a second chance, but Tampa Bay will.

The Bucs will win the NFC South with a win over the 2-14 Carolina Panthers after failing to do so against the Saints. The stakes are a bit higher than that, though, as if the team loses against the Panthers, it’ll be removed from playoff contention entirely. Tampa Bay came out flat against New Orleans in Week 17, and it’ll be sure to rectify that mistake when it plays what is essentially a de facto playoff game in Charlotte.

The Panthers, meanwhile, are dangerous because they have nothing to lose. The team doesn’t have a first-round pick and in a way control Tampa Bay’s destiny as well, so there will certainly be motivation to beat the Bucs and knock them out of playoff contention. The team may be the worst in the NFL, but players and coaches in Tampa Bay have stressed that they aren’t pushovers.

According to BetMGM, the Bucs are 4.5-point favorites over the Panthers. The over/under is set at 37.5.

Will Tampa Bay clinch the NFC South (for real this time)? Or will the Panthers play spoiler and knock out a division rival?

Bucs Wire staff picks for Week 17 against the Saints

Win and in. See if our staff has the Bucs clinching the NFC South title on New Year’s Eve:

If there was ever a game to win in the regular season, it’s this one.

Not only do the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the opportunity to clinch the NFC South at home on New Year’s Eve, but they have the opportunity to do so against one of their biggest rivals in the New Orleans Saints. Win this game and Tampa Bay is in — lose, and they’ll have to try again next week against the Carolina Panthers.

The Bucs drubbed the Saints in New Orleans 26-9 last time they played each other in Week 4, but this matchup will bring a different set of circumstances with far more desperation from the Saints. Bucs Wire puts in our predictions for each game every week, and this week, our staff all seems to be on the same page:

Who wins the Week 17 game between the Bucs and the Saints?

The Bucs can clinch a division win on New Year’s Eve — cast your vote in our poll to predict the winner of Week 17’s Bucs vs. Saints matchup!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need one more win. The New Orleans Saints need as many as they can get.

The Bucs are just one win away from clinching the NFC South and going to the playoffs, and they can do that at home by defeating the Saints on New Year’s Eve. Tampa Bay won the previous matchup in a 26-9 drubbing in New Orleans, and now, it’ll look to repeat the process and secure a playoff berth with a game to spare in the NFC South. The Bucs have been hot lately, winning four games in a row, and they will look to ring in the new year by extending that streak to five.

The Saints, meanwhile, have to win to survive. A win over the Bucs would increase their playoff chances and the ability to win the NFC South, but they still need lots and lots of help, as Tampa Bay can simply defeat the Panthers next week and clinch the division that way. Regardless, a victory over the Bucs is imperative, and they’ll seek it out after losing to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16.

According to BetMGM, the Bucs are 2.5-point favorites over the Saints. The over/under is set at 42.5

Will Tampa Bay clinch the NFC South and a fourth-straight appearance in the playoffs? Or will New Orleans get the win and stay alive for just a bit longer?

Who wins the Week 16 game between the Bucs and the Jaguars?

It’s a sunshine showdown in Tampa Bay — cast your vote in our poll to predict the winner of Week 16’s Bucs at Jaguars matchup!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t play the Jacksonville Jaguars too often in a battle of Florida teams, but when they do, it’s always a fun one.

The value the Bucs would get out of a win against Jacksonville is huge. Should Tampa Bay win this one and the New Orleans Saints lose to the Los Angeles Rams, the Bucs would need to beat either the Saints or Panthers in their last two games. That variability is a big boon to the team’s playoff chances, offering an even greater motivation to win.

The Jaguars, meanwhile, could be without their starting quarterback. QB Trevor Lawrence suffered a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15 and did not practice on Monday, so his status is up in the air. Should he not be able to go, the Bucs would face QB C.J. Beathard.

According to BetMGM, the Bucs are one-point favorites against the Jaguars. The over-under is set at 42.5.

Will Tampa Bay get a huge win for their NFC South chances? Or will the Jaguars end their losing streak and win the sunshine showdown?

Who wins the Week 15 game between the Bucs and the Packers?

Cast your vote in our poll to predict the winner of Week 15’s Bucs at Packers matchup!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading back to the Frozen Tundra.

The Bucs are set to face off against the Green Bay Packers on the road for Week 15, visiting Lambeau Field for the first time since the team won the NFC Championship against Green Bay during the 2020 season. Tampa Bay is 6-7, but it is leading the NFC South and will need to pick up a few more wins to solidify its standing atop the division.

The Packers are also 6-7, but they currently sit at third place in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions have looked a little faulty as of late and the Minnesota Vikings have been running into some quarterback problems after Kirk Cousins went down, so everything matters for them from here on out, too.

According to BetMGM, the Packers are 3.5-point favorites over the Bucs at Lambeau Field. The over/under for the matchup is set at 41.5.

Will Tampa Bay go a huge way in its fight for a playoff spot with a win? Or will the Packers dash their hopes?

Who wins the Week 14 game between the Bucs and the Falcons?

Cast your vote in our poll to predict the winner of Week 14’s Bucs at Falcons matchup!

All games matter, but this one matters more than most.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to face off against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday in the two’s second matchup of the season. The team is 5-7 after defeating the Carolina Panthers at home, and it faces an extremely important game against the Falcons in Week 14. Should the Bucs win on Sunday, their playoff chances skyrocket — lose, and the Falcons will almost certainly eliminate the team from playoff contention with a comfortable two-game lead.

The Falcons aren’t exactly world-beaters, though. Atlanta has their own struggles, and their poor play over the middle part of the season could come back to haunt them. Should the Bucs defeat them Sunday, Tampa Bay would take the division lead over the common opponents’ tiebreaker.

According to BetMGM, the Falcons are 2.5-point favorites against the Bucs at home. The over/under for the matchup is set at 39.5.

Will Tampa Bay take first place back in the NFC South? Or will the Atlanta Falcons win and all but dash Tampa Bay’s hopes for the playoffs?

Who wins the Week 13 game between the Bucs and the Panthers?

Cast your vote in our poll to predict the winner of Week 13’s Bucs at Panthers matchup!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have known plenty of defeats in their last stretch of football, but Week 13 gives them as good of an opportunity as they’ll have for the rest of the year.

The Bucs are 4-7 and set to play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in an attempt to pick up another win. The team has lost six of its last seven games after starting the year 3-1, and while its record is poor, Tampa Bay still remains one game back in the NFC South. As such, divisional games are extremely important from here on out, so the Bucs will need this one to stay in it.

The Panthers, meanwhile, have fired their head coach in Frank Reich after just 11 games. Just like last year, the Bucs won’t play the Panthers’ head coach, instead facing interim head coach Chris Tabor when the team comes to town.

According to BetMGM, the Bucs are 5.5-point favorites against the Panthers. The over-under is set at 37.

Will Tampa Bay finally get a win after a slew of losses? Or will the Panthers start their second interim HC era in as many years with a win?
