Earlier this month, former Alabama and current Cleveland Browns’ linebacker Mack Wilson suffered a hyperextended knee during a practice with the second team. Wilson was demoted to the second team after injuring Browns’ running back Nick Chubb during a practice which left Chubb with a concussion.
Wilson’s injury occurred during seven-on-seven drills while breaking up a pass at training camp.
When the injury was first reported, many feared the injury to be season-ending. Instead of it being a second ending injury, Wilson might be out four to six weeks, ESPN reported, after it was determined the injury would not require surgery. Which is great news for both Wilson and the Cleveland Browns.
Wilson also sought out a second opinion from orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who stated the injury would heal on its own without surgery.
To celebrate the good news, Wilson posted on Instagram with the caption, “See y’all soon.”
In his career at Alabama, Wilson recorded 92 total tackles (47 solo), 1 sack, 5 interceptions.
Wilson was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round (155th overall pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Last season, Wilson recorded 82 tackles (57 solo), 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception, 7 passes defended, and 4 stuffs.
