New ’30 for 30′ trailer on 2000 Ravens released

ESPN released a trailer for a 30 for 30 on the 2000 Baltimore Ravens

Over the summer, it was announced that ESPN was making a 30 for 30 documentary on the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, which is widely regarded as the most dominant defense of all time. Around an hour before the Ravens were set to play the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, a trailer for the 30 for 30 was released.

In the trailer, we see clips of the defense dominating play in and play out.  The 2000 Ravens defense were labeled as “bullies”, which is a fair assessment to many.  If you played Baltimore in that era, the defense would keep opposing offenses up at night considering how good they were.

The 30 for 30 episode on the 2000 Baltimore Ravens is set to air in February 2023. It will feature odes to many different players, including inside linebacker Ray Lewis and the late-Tony Siragusa.

ESPN Films announces production of 30-for-30 documentary on 2000 Ravens

ESPN is starting to produce a 30-30 Film on the 2000 Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens already have a storied history despite their franchise’s first year coming in 1996. They’ve been consistently competitive, and have secured two Super Bowl championships in a relatively short amount of time.

It was announced that ESPN Films has started a 30-30 film on the 2000 Baltimore Ravens.  Having a 30-30 made about that team is a massive accomplishment for the organization.  It’s going to be to see how the show is produced and what kind of behind-the-scenes footage can be shown.

The 2000 Ravens were a very close-knit group, so it should be great hearing from multiple people involved with the Super Bowl-winning team. They also had a swagger to them that made them fun to watch, even though the offense wasn’t very high powered. ESPN films has produced many great 30-for-30 masterpieces before, and it will be exciting to see what they put together to document what the 2000 Baltimore team was able to do on their magical championship run.

Ravens hosting tribute for 2000 Super Bowl-winning team

The Ravens announced an event as a tribute to their 2000 Super Bowl-winning team

The Baltimore Ravens have had numerous magical seasons throughout their 26-year history. The relatively young franchise played their first game in 1996 and won a championship just a few years later. Now, the team has an upcoming event will look to pay tribute to their team from the 2000-2001 season in which they won Super Bowl XXXV.

The Ravens announced “A Championship Celebration,” a public ticketed event that looks to honor members from the Ravens’ 2000-01 Super Bowl winning team. Guests from the Super Bowl XXXV team scheduled to make an appearance include Brian Billick, Ray Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, Rod Woodson, Tony Siragusa, Trent Dilfer, Jamal Lewis, and others. Stories and unseen footage from the season and surprise guest appearances will also take place.

Those in attendance will have photo opportunities with the 2000 Lombardi Trophy and Lamar Hunt Trophy. They will also receive a custom Super Bowl XXXV pennant. The event will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in downtown Baltimore.

Former Ravens HC Brian Billick joins Arizona State University football staff

Former Ravens head coach Brian Billick joined the staff of Arizona State University’s football program

Former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick has plenty success during his tenure with the organization. He accumulated an 80-64 record as the second-ever head man in Baltimore history, including the franchise’s first Super Bowl victory during the 2000-2001 season.

Ever since departing from the Ravens in 2008, Billick has stayed away from the coaching side of things, instead establishing a successful media career. However, Billick is returning to football in a different capacity, as it was announced that he will be joining Herm Edwards’ staff at Arizona State University as an offensive analyst and an advisor to the head coach.

Billick expressed his excitement for his new opportunity on Twitter after the move was announced.

Billick was the offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings before his stop in Baltimore, and saw success in many different forms while working with their offensive unit. He should be a key part in what Arizona State does in 2022 with his brilliant football mind and experience at both the college and professional levels.

Former Ravens HC Brian Billick breaks down key defensive plays from Week 17 vs. Rams

Former Ravens head coach Brian Billick broke down key defensive plays from the team’s Week 17 game agains the Rams

The Baltimore Ravens fell to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17 by the final score of 20-19. The loss marked their fifth-straight, and dropped them to 8-8 on the 2021 season. However, that doesn’t mean there weren’t impressive plays made by the team that kept them in the game and put them in a position to win.

After the Ravens’ Week 17 contest, former Baltimore head coach Brian Billick broke down some of the key defensive plays from the game on his “Billick’s Breakdown” segment. He looked at moments from safety Chuck Clark, defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, cornerback Jimmy Smith, outside linebacker Tyus Bowser and more.

Billick even threw in a breakdown of a play from tight end Mark Andrews, who has been on fire this season. While the end result wasn’t what the Ravens wanted, they still got many good contributions from plenty of key players throughout the game, which led to some positive takeaways.

Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley was forced into action early during the team’s 24-22 loss to the Cleveland Browns after starter Lamar Jackson suffered an ankle injury and was unable to return. The second-year signal caller performed well all things considered, and almost led Baltimore to a miraculous comeback win.

Former Ravens head coach Brian Billick broke down Huntley’s performance in Week 14 in a “Billick’s Breakdown” video, using multiple big plays that the quarterback was able to convert. Billick was impressed with the way that Huntley threw the football as well as how he handled multiple pressure looks that Cleveland gave him.

Huntley finished the contest completing 27-of-38 passes for 270 yards and one touchdown. He did also lose two fumbles, but for being put into the game on such short notice he played an overall solid game, proving that he’s the right player to be backing up Jackson.

Former NFL coach Brian Billick: Vikings are clearly a team with championship-caliber potential

Former NFL coach Brian Billick had high praise for the Vikings.

Minnesota lost some key contributors this offseason, but certain fans and analysts still think the Vikings have the pieces in place to be successful.

One of those analysts is Brian Billick, an NFL coach who most notably was at the helm for the Ravens’ Super Bowl victory in 2001.

Here’s what Billick said about the Vikings on NFL Network:

“In the NFC, there’s eight, nine, 10 teams that are viable (with) championship-caliber potential, because of the balance in the conference and the Minnesota Vikings are clearly one,” Billick said. “Is Kirk Cousins, even with those numbers, the reason they haven’t been able to take that next step? Well, there’s a lot more to that. But I think the key this year is what he’s going to do in the Gary Kubiak offense. Let’s keep in mind that Kubiak has taken over as the play-caller and offensive coordinator. This is going to be a Dalvin Cook-centric offense, maybe the best back in the National Football League.”

As Billick pointed out, it will be interesting to see what Kubiak does with the offense. He should be stylistically similar to former offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski, but maybe the team will be able to take a step forward in 2020 with Kubiak leading the offense.
