Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (36-25) hope to avoid a 3-game sweep as they take on the Philadelphia Phillies (43-19) Wednesday. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET (MLB.TV Free Game of the Day). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Phillies lead 2-0

Milwaukee lost to Philadelphia 2-1 in 10 innings Tuesday, failing to cash as a (+138) road underdog. The Brewers have mustered just 1 run in each of their losses to the Phillies, going 2-for-13 with RISP. However, their pitching has limited this outstanding Phillies lineup, registering 4 ER and 18 K’s in 19 innings.

Despite owning the best record in baseball along with the New York Yankees, Philadelphia (+270 at FanDuel Sportsbook) still sits behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (+140) as the favorite to win the National League. RHP Zack Wheeler delivered his NL-leading 10th quality start in Monday’s 3-1 win over Milwaukee, and the Phillies have won 5 of their last 6.

Brewers at Phillies projected starters

LHP Aaron Ashby vs. RHP Aaron Nola

Ashby (0-1, 9.82 ERA) makes his 2nd start. He allowed 4 ER on 6 hits and 2 walks with 2 K’s in 3 2/3 innings in his season debut, a 10-8 loss at the Cincinnati Reds April 8.

  • Last start with Triple-A Nashville: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 BB 5 K in 7-2 victory at Memphis Friday
  • 2024 stats with Triple-A Nashville: 1-3, 6.80 ERA (43 2/3 IP, 33 ER), 1.97 WHIP, 8.9 K/9 in 9 starts and 1 relief appearance
  • 2022 stats: 2-10, 4.44 ERA (107 1/3 IP, 53 ER), 1.43 WHIP, 10.6 K/9 in 19 starts and 6 relief appearances

Nola (7-2, 3.03 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.03 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 8.3 K/9 in 77 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K in 4-2 home victory vs. St. Louis Cardinals Friday
  • 2024 home stats: 3-2, 4.01 ERA (42 2/3 IP, 19 ER), 1.15 WHIP, 8.6 K/9 in 7 starts
  • Possesses highest career K/9 (9.92) in franchise history

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Phillies 5, Brewers 2

Moneyline

Consider adding Philadelphia (-188) to a moneyline parlay.

This is too much juice to lay with Philadelphia on its own for me. However, if you’re looking to build a parlay, I suggest pairing the 2 best teams in baseball. A 2-leg parlay with Philadelphia (-188) and the Yankees (-190 at home vs. Minnesota Twins, 7:05 p.m. ET) pays out +134.

Run line/Against the Spread

BET PHILLIES -1.5 (+105).

Phillies 1B Bryce Harper has a walk and a hit in each game vs. Milwaukee this season, and he leads all qualified NL hitters in hard-hit percentage (44.9%) vs. RHP. Sure, Ashby was strong in his last minor-league outing, but that lowered his ERA at Triple-A to 6.80 in 10 appearances.

Only Atlanta Braves DH Marcell Ozuna has more RBIs (53) than Philadelphia 3B Alec Bohm (50) and Harper (44) in the NL, and Bohm leads MLB in doubles (23). Ashby had a 6.80 ERA at Triple-A, not the majors, and now he has to face this powerful Phillies lineup on short notice.

Ashby will eventually turn it over to a Brewers bullpen that has served up an NL-leading 30 HRs. There is too much working against Milwaukee here, so expect the Phils to wrap up the sweep Wednesday with a multiple-run victory.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 8.5 (-104).

Nola, who turned 31 Tuesday, saw an increase in velocity in his last start. With the Brewers offense going dormant over the last 2 games, I expect Nola to be able to work the 4-seamer effectively once again.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (36-24) and Philadelphia Phillies (42-19) play the 2nd game of 3-game set Tuesday. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Phillies lead 3-1

The Brewers snapped a 4-game winning streak with a 3-1 loss against the Phillies Monday, failing to cash as +169 road underdogs. A solo home run from DH Rhys Hoskins was the only offense generated by Milwaukee, while RHP Bryse Wilson allowed 3 ER in 5 2/3 innings and picked up the loss.

The Phillies got back in the win column with Monday’s victory, cashing as -185 home favorites. Three different Philadelphia players had an RBI, including a solo shot from LF David Dahl in the 4th inning. RHP Zack Wheeler allowed 1 ER in 7 innings to pick up the win.

Brewers at Phillies projected starters

RHP Colin Rea vs. LHP Cristopher Sanchez

Rea (4-2, 3.77 ERA) makes his 11th start and 12th appearance. He has a 1.34 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 6.3 K/9 in 59 2/3 IP.

  • Brewers are 8-3 in his outings
  • Has allowed 25 ER and 8 HR this season while striking out 42 and walking 21

Sanchez (3-3, 2.83 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.39 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 8.4 K/9 in 60 1/3 IP.

  • Phillies are 5-6 in his starts, including 4-1 in his last 5
  • Has allowed 3 ER or fewer in each of his last 5 starts
  • Has allowed 12 ER and 1 HR while striking out 29 and walking 13

Prediction

Phillies 5, Brewers 3

Moneyline

PASS.

There is better value on the Phillies’ (-165) run line.

Run line/Against the spread

BET PHILLIES -1.5 (+115).

The Phillies have won 4 of their last 5 games with each win coming by 2 or more runs. They have allowed just 1 run in 4 of their last 6 games while scoring 4 or more in 4 of their last 5. In back-to-back losses for the Brewers, they have lost by 2 or more runs while they have scored 1 run in each of their last 2 road games.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 9 (-120).

The Brewers have failed to hit the Over in 2 of their last 3 games and 6 of their last 10. They have allowed 3 runs in each of their last 3 games and in 7 of their last 10.

Philadelphia has failed to hit the Over in 8 of its last 10 games, including each of its last 6. It has allowed 2 or fewer runs in 5 of its last 6 games.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (36-23) and Philadelphia Phillies (41-19) begin a 3-game series Monday. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is slated for 6:40 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting of 2024; Brewers won 4 of 6 in 2023

Milwaukee completed a 3-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 6-3 victory as a big -320 home favorite Sunday. RF Jackson Chourio’s 3-run homer in the 2nd inning and DH Gary Sanchez’s 2-run single in the 8th gave the Brewers all the offense they’d need to issue Chicago an 11th straight loss (season-high). Meanwhile, Milwaukee has won 5 in a row.

Philadelphia failed to complete a home sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday night after falling in 5-4 in 10 innings as a -137 favorite. Phillies SS Bryson Stott tied it in the bottom of the 5th inning on a 2-run single, but Cardinals 2B Nolan Gorman’s RBI single in the top of the 10th turned out to plate the winning run. The Phils are 2-1 during a current 6-game homestand.

Brewers at Phillies projected starters

RHP Bryse Wilson vs. RHP Zack Wheeler

Wilson (3-1, 3.19 ERA) is slated to start in somewhat of an “opener” roll. He’s pitched 14 games this season with 7 starts. He has a 1.23 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9, 7.3 K/9 in 48 innings.

  • Last outing: No-decision, 4 IP, 3 ER (4 R), 6 H, 2 BB, 1 K in 10-6 home win vs. Chicago Cubs Wednesday
  • Career vs. Phillies: 1-1, 7.15 ERA (11 1/3 IP, 9 ER), 2.03 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 in 4 games (3 starts)

Wheeler (6-3, 2.32 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 0.95 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9 and 10.4 K/9 in 73 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 9 K in 1-0, 10-inning loss at San Francisco Giants Tuesday
  • Career vs Brewers: 3-2, 2.68 ERA (57 IP, 17 ER), 1.07 WHIP, 10.4 K/9 in 9 starts.

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Phillies 5, Brewers 2

Moneyline.

PASS.

With an opener taking the hill for the Brewers, I like the Phillies (-200) to get this victory Monday night. The Phillies were heartbroken a night earlier at home and will look to bounce back in a big way against a good Brewers team. I’m not going to pay that juice though, I’ll take the Phillies on the run line. AVOID.

Run line/Against the spread

BET PHILLIES -1.5 (-102).

Philadelphia is just a ½ game behind the Yankees for the best record in baseball. The Phillies have won 9 of their last 11 at home with a 24-9 overall record at Citizens Bank Park.

Wheeler does not have a loss since April 14 — going 6-0 with 2 no-decisions in his last 8 starts with the Phillies eventually losing those 2 no-decisions. He has allowed a total of 4 earned runs in his last 4 home starts across 28 2/3 innings for a 1.26 ERA. As mentioned, Wheeler also has 2.68 ERA against the Brewers in his career.

Milwaukee is coming off of a stellar 7-game homestand going 6-1 against the 2 Chicago clubs, but the Brewers are 4-5 in their last 9 road games. This will be a tough test in a hostile environment for the Brew Crew.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 8 (-105).

In their last 6 head-to-head meetings, the Under is 4-2. The Under is 7-2-1 in the Phillies’ last 10 games. Before the Brewers 6-games at home against both Chicago squads, they had been Under in 4 straight on the road.

Wheeler will keep this score in check Monday. BACK UNDER 8 (-105).

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Phillies 4, Brewers 3

Moneyline

Burnes and Walker are both pitching fantastically. Burnes has won his last 3 starts and Walker has won 7 straight.

The Brewers are 27-22 on the road and have won 8 of their last 10 road games. The Phillies are 26-18 at home and 4-2 during the current homestand.

Walker’s run is a little longer and he’s at home, but this should be a fun matchup.

BET PHILLIES (-120).

Run line/Against the spread

Neither team has been a reliable ATS win. The Brewers are 46-50 ATS and the Phillies’ 39-56 ATS mark is the 3rd-worst mark in baseball.

While 3 of the Phillies’ last 5 wins have been by 1 run, Philadelphia has won Walker’s last 6 starts by at least 2 runs. So even though the game has a premier pitching matchup, 2 pretty hot teams and pretty even odds on the moneyline which is worth a bet, the Phillies’ streak with Walker on the mound is also worth a play on the run line. You could double up on this game and sprinkle a little on PHILLIES -1.5 (+155).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

Neither game of this series has reached 9 total runs. In Walker’s last 7 starts, 4 have had fewer than 9 total runs. The Brewers’ last 6 games have not reached 9 total runs.

BET UNDER 9 (-115).

The Milwaukee Brewers (52-43) and Philadelphia Phillies (52-42) square off for Game 2 of their 3-game series on Wednesday. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park will be at 6:40 p.m. ET in Philadelphia. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Phillies lead 1-0 after winning 4-3 on Tuesday

The Brewers have been on a tear as of late to push into 1st place in the NL Central. They’ve won 6 of their last 8 games and 9 of their last 13 and now hold a 2.5-game lead over the Cincinnati Reds in the division.

The Phillies are also heating up, winning 4 straight games and 8 of their last 11. They’re still 9 1/2 games back of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East, but they’re squarely in the hunt for a wild-card berth if they continue playing the way they have.

Rea (5-4, 4.71 ERA) makes his 16th start. He has a 1.22 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 7.5 K/9 in 80 1/3 innings.

  • Has a 5.56 ERA in July, allowing 7 ER in 11 1/3 IP
  • Brewers are 7-3 in his last 10 starts

Sanchez (0-3, 3.26 ERA) makes his 7th start. He has a 0.99 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9 and 8.0 K/9 in 30 1/3 innings.

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 6, Phillies 5

Moneyline

Both of these teams are playing well right now, winning series against quality teams such as the Cincinnati Reds and Tampa Bay Rays. The Brewers took 5 of 6 from the Reds, winning some very close games, 3 of them by only 1 run.

With this being such an even matchup, I give the slight edge to the Brewers. You can sprinkle a bit on the Brewers ML, but I would PASS and instead bet only on the spread.

Run line/Against the spread

The Brewers have kept games close lately, with 7 of their last 10 contests being 1-run games. Because they’re the underdogs on the run line, they’re getting 1.5 runs, which is a nice cushion against an evenly matched Phillies team.

BET BREWERS +1.5 (-140) to cover the spread on the road where they’ve won 10 of their last 14 games straight up.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The total has gone Under in each of the Brewers’ last 5 games, but the Phillies have pushed it Over in 6 of their last 7. Neither pitcher on the mound Wednesday has been particularly dominant, which is why it could be a higher-scoring game.

BET OVER 9 (-115).

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Milwaukee Brewers (52-42) kick off a 3-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies (51-42) Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting

The Brewers opened the 2nd half with a 3-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds and have won 6 of their last 7 games to move into 1st place in the NL Central. Milwaukee has won its last 5 games away from home to give them a 26-21 road record that is identical to their home mark.

The Phillies have been hot as well, as they took 3 of 4 from the San Diego Padres over the weekend and are 12-5 in their last 17 games. Philadelphia remains 10 1/2 games back in the NL East despite its recent surge.

Brewers at Phillies projected starters

RHP Julio Teheran vs. RHP Aaron Nola

Teheran (2-3, 3.64 ERA) makes his 9th start. He has a 1.02 WHIP, 1.7 BB/9 and 6.1 K/9 through 47 IP.

  • Posted a 1.53 ERA over his first 6 starts despite some soft skills but regression has set in as he has allowed 13 ER across 11 2/3 IP across his last 2 turns
  • Has registered a 4.50 ERA with 7 K and 6 HR allowed in 18 IP over 3 road starts

Nola (8-6, 4.39 ERA) makes his 20th start. He has a 1.11 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 9.1 K/9 through 119 IP.

  • Has a 3.40 ERA, 9.8 K/9 and 2.6 BB/9 in 7 home starts
  • Struggling more than usual with home runs to the tune of a career-worst 1.6 HR/9
  • Been missing plenty of bats lately, with 55 K in 44 1/3 IP across his last 7 starts, including a pair of 12 K performances

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Phillies 6, Brewers 3

Moneyline

Teheran had luck on his side early on but has gotten roughed up in his last 2 starts. Philadelphia (-210) has the clear pitching edge in this one with Nola on the hill and they should win the game, but the price here is a little steep and better value can be found elsewhere.

PASS.

Run line/Against the spread

The Phillies are 11th in the league with 4.76 runs per game at home and they scored 6-plus runs in each of the final 3 games of their weekend series against the Padres. Their bats should stay hot enough against Teheran to come out on top by multiple runs.

Back the PHILLIES -1.5 (+110).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

Nola has been homer-prone but the swing-and-miss stuff has been on display in recent weeks. He will square off against a Milwaukee offense that is bottom 5 in both runs per game and OPS away from home. Nola should keep the Brewer bats relatively quiet so look for this game to sneak in just under the total.

A small play on UNDER 9.5 (-120) looks like the way to go here.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (8-5) and Philadelphia Phillies (5-8) open a three-game series Friday. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. ET from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting of 2022 season; Phillies won 5-2 in 2021, including a 4-game sweep at home

The Brewers come in red hot, owning a 4-game win streak after sweeping the Pirates in a three-game series. They outscored the Pirates 16-5 in the series, but Milwaukee’s offense hasn’t been particularly impressive yet. The Brewers are 20th in runs scored (46) and have yet to score more than 6 runs in a game.

The Phillies lost 2 of 3 at the Colorado Rockies and have now lost 7 of their last 9 games after starting the season 3-1. They have the 4th-highest batting average (.257) in MLB, but the pitching staff has struggled. Philadelphia has a team ERA of 5.22 (28th in MLB) and allows a .251 batting average (24th).

Brewers at Phillies: Projected starters

RHP Freddy Peralta vs. LHP Ranger Suarez

Peralta (0-1, 11.57 ERA) makes his 3rd start. He has a 2.29 WHIP, 7.7 BB/9 and 12.9 K/9 through 7 IP.

  • Peralta was an All-Star last season with a 2.81 ERA, but he’s struggled so far this season, failing to even pitch into the 5th inning in either of his 2 starts.
  • Despite giving up 10 hits, he still struck out 10 batters, boasting a higher K rate than he had last season.

Suarez (1-0, 5.87 ERA) makes his 3rd start. He has a 1.96 WHIP, 4.7 BB/9 and 5.9 K/9 through 7 2/3 IP.

  • Suarez pitched 5 innings and allowed just 2 runs in his last outing against the Marlins. The Phillies are 2-0 in his starts this season, helping out with 15 runs of support.
  • This will be Suarez’s 1st career start against the Brewers.
  • Suarez is much better at home than away in his career, going 10-2 with a 2.50 ERA in 43 appearances (11 starts) at home compared to 6-6, 3.14 in 42 games (6 starts).

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 4, Phillies 3

Money line

Though Peralta has struggled so far this season, he’s still the better pitcher in this matchup and the Brewers have looked like the better team. They’ve won 4 in a row and held the Pirates to only 5 runs during their 3-game series.

LEAN BREWERS (+102) as outright underdogs at plus money.

Run line/Against the spread

Two of the Brewers’ 5 losses came by 2 runs or fewer. They’ve mostly kept games close and I think that will continue to be the case Friday on the road.

Both teams are 5-8 ATS this season, but I like the BREWERS +1.5 (-205) on the run line, though make it a small wager because of the high price.

Over/Under

The total has only gone Over in 4 of the Brewers’ 13 games so far, and it’s 6-6-1 in Phillies games. Neither team is knocking the cover off the ball right now, which is why I like the UNDER 7.5 (+105), especially with the way Suarez has pitched at home in his career.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (17-14) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (16-15) match up Thursday at 1:05 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Brandon Woodruff is the projected starting pitcher for the Brewers. He is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 10.3 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 in 35 IP over six starts. Woodruff is striking out more than 30% of opposing batters for the 2nd straight season. In his last five starts, he has reached at least six innings and six strikeouts every time, while allowing no more than two earned runs.

RHP Zack Wheeler is the projected starting pitcher for the Phillies. He is 2-2 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 9.5 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 in 38 2/3 IP over six starts. Wheeler is throwing more sliders this season, which has helped lead to a career-high 26.6% K%. In three starts at home, he has a 3.66 ERA along with a 22/4 K/BB in 19 2/3 IP.

  • Money line: Brewers -120 (bet $120 to win $100) | Phillies +100 (bet $100 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Brewers -1.5 (+145) | Phillies +1.5 (-175)
  • Over/Under: 7 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Prediction

Brewers 4, Phillies 2

Money line (ML)

The Brewers have come out on top in five of the six games started by Woodruff, who has been pitching about as well as anyone in the league. Wheeler has looked strong as well but has allowed three earned runs or more in four of his six starts. Go with the BREWERS (-120), who should put an end to their four-game skid.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Milwaukee is 9-6 on the road this season, and just one of the wins has been by a single run. Neither team is likely to have a huge day offensively, but it typically doesn’t take a lot to win by a couple runs when Woodruff is on the mound. Locking in the BREWERS -1.5 (+145) looks like a solid value play.

Over/Under (O/U)

This total is low, but both starting pitchers are very capable of hurling a gem. Even with the game being played in a hitters’ park, each of them have good matchups.

These offenses have struggled to get going during the first five weeks of the season. Both rank bottom eight in the league in runs per game as well as wRC+ vs right-handed pitching. A small play on UNDER 7 (-120) is the call here.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (17-13) and Philadelphia Phillies (15-15) play the third contest of their four-game series at Citizens Bank Park Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Freddy Peralta is the projected starting pitcher for the Brewers. Peralta is is 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 14.5 K/9 and 4.5 BB/9 through 28 IP spanning 5 starts and 1 relief appearance.

The Milwaukee right-hander has been getting by with a .229 batting average on balls in play, but he has also done well to limit hard contact.

RHP Chase Anderson is the projected starter for the Phillies. He is 1-3 with a 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 and 4.2 BB/9 through 21 2/3 IP over 5 starts.

Anderson relies on a change-up and is tough on lefty batters (.688 career OPS allowed); the Brewers bat more from that side than most teams.

Brewers at Phillies odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 9:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Brewers -145 (bet $145 to win $100) | Phillies +120 (bet $100 to win $120)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Brewers -1.5 (+115) |  Phillies +1.5 (-140)
  • Over/Under: 7.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Prediction

Brewers 4, Phillies 3

Money line (ML)

The Phillies took the first two games of this series, both in one-run fashion. Both offenses are bottom-10 units through the first month of the season but peg the Brewers as having the better starter Wednesday.

BACK THE BREWERS (-145) on a slight-to-moderate lean.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

STEER CLEAR of trying Milwaukee at the run line prop price. The game has a significant Under lean, and Philadelphia’s bullpen is underrated.

Over/Under (O/U)

TAKE THE UNDER 7.5 (-105).

The Philly ‘pen figures as homer-unlucky to date, and analytic ERA measures are about a run kinder than the 5.13 surface ERA being sported by the home team’s relief corps.

Both offenses are swung around to their lesser platoon splits against a right-handed starter, and a double-digit mph breeze in from left-center is in the forecast.
