Tom Brady is still a Patriots fan, and for good reason

Bucs QB Tom Brady showed his former team love on Instagram after the Patriots delivered meals to families across the New England area.

The Buccaneers made the biggest splash in free agency this offseason by landing six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. The future Hall of Famer, who ended his 20-year run with the New England Patriots in favor of spending the latter part of his career as a pirate, may call Florida home now, but he still has lots of love for the Patriots organization and New England area.

The Pats recently posted the below message on their Instagram account, showing them working to distribute meals to families across the New England area, and TB12 was right there to “like” the post and the work the team continues to do in his former home.

Brady, himself, has been working hard to give back to the Tampa community already. He and his wife, supermodel and environmentalist Gisele Bundchen, have donated meals to families in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

And, let’s not forget Jameis Winston, who despite signing with the New Orleans Saints is still working hard to make a difference in Tampa.

Good to see teams and players giving back in this difficult time.

UFC president Dana White is a fan of Tompa Bay

UFC president Dana White sported this TB12 shirt on stage during promotion of UFC 249.

The sports world has been on hiatus since the outbreak of the coronavirus, which has created a global pandemic and altered life for everyone.

But soon, fans will have a chance to watch UFC 249, with the main event featuring Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje for the UFC interim lightweight title. It’ll be the first major sporting event held during the pandemic, and you can be sure it’ll get viewers.

One of those tuning in will likely be Buccaneers QB Tom Brady, who attended UFC 246 back in January in Las Vegas, which started rumors he may be looking to join the Raiders. While Brady won’t be attending this event, he did take to Instagram to show his appreciation to UFC president Dana White, who sported a TB12 shirt on stage.

Take a look at this screenshot from Brady’s Instagram story.

While that TB12 shirt may say Tampa Bay on it now, we know that the six-time Super Bowl champion filed to trademark both Tompa Bay and Tampa Brady. I’m sure he’ll hook White up with one of those shirts once they get made.

Bruce Arians says Brady ‘was adamant’ about bringing Gronk to the Bucs

Bruce Arians revealed on ESPN’s “NFL Live” that Tom Brady was the one who first brought up the idea of bringing Gronk to Tampa Bay.

If the Buccaneers’ trade for Rob Gronkowski surprised you last month, you aren’t the only one. Turns out, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians was equally surprised when he learned from his new quarterback, Tom Brady, that the retired tight end was interested in coming to Tampa Bay.

Appearing on ESPN’s NFL Live on Thursday, Arians said that Brady, the six-time Super Bowl champion, was the one who brought up the idea of trading for his former teammate, and was adamant the Bucs go after Gronk.

via ESPN:

“It was really Tom. Tom brought it up to me, and I didn’t even think it was a possibility that [Gronkowski] wanted to come back. And [Brady] was adamant about, yeah, he really wants to play; he’d love to play with us. So [general manager] Jason Licht got the ball rolling with the Patriots, the conversation was there, and he’s working out, he’s in great shape and he’s raring to go. So we’re really looking forward to getting on the practice field.”

Arians may have been surprised, but it turns out Brady might have known for a while about Gronk’s possible interest in returning. Shortly before Brady announced his decision to leave the Patriots, Gronkowski told him during a workout together that he may be interested in returning. Turns out, Brady going to the Bucs was just the right situation to lure Gronk out of his one-year retirement.

Once Brady hangs up his helmet once and for all, he might want to try his luck at being a general manager.

Tom Brady wants you to wake him up ‘When September Ends’

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady took to Instagram yesterday to celebrate the release of the team’s 2020 regular-season schedule.

The 2020 NFL schedule was released last night, and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tom Brady era will kick off with a bang — in the Superdome against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

The Bucs will play five prime-time games this season, including a Super Bowl XXXVII rematch against the now-Las Vegas Raiders and their head coach Jon Gruden, who coached the Bucs to victory in their Super Bowl win.

Brady has plenty of experience playing in big games, but this will be the first time in two decades he’ll be playing for a new coach and a new organization. The six-time Super Bowl champion seems excited about the next chapter in his career, and took to Instagram yesterday to post the schedule along with Green Day’s hit song “Wake Me up When September Ends.”

Take a look at a screenshot from his story below.

Peyton Manning roasts Tom Brady in hilarious fashion

While on a video call promoting “The Match: Champions for Charity,” Peyton Manning had some fun at Tom Brady’s expense, all in good fun.

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods will soon tee up in The Match: Champions for Charity, with all donations and fundraising going to COVID-19 relief.

Today, the four superstars jumped on a video conference call to promote the event, and Manning took the chance to have a little fun at Brady’s expense, highlighting Tom’s recent mishap where he walked into the wrong home.

Take a look at the clip below. Manning is pure comedic gold.

Don’t worry, though, Brady has done his fair share of friendly trash talking towards Manning and Woods, too. This event is for a great cause and it should be fun to watch these guys get competitive on the golf course.

Tom Brady wishes his dad a happy birthday on Instagram

Bucs QB Tom Brady took to Instagram to wish his father a happy birthday.

Tom Brady may very well be the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, but as famous as the six-time Super Bowl champion is around the world, he’ll always be the junior Tom Brady in his family. That’s because his father, Tom Brady Sr., holds the title of family patriarch.

The Bucs quarterback, whose postgame Super Bowl celebration always include his family, took to Instagram yesterday to wish his father a very happy birthday.

Take a look.

Brady (Jr.) also posted a happy anniversary message to his parents last month, showing off the generations of the Brady clan.

Tom Brady reposts this Mike Evans image on his Instagram story

Tampa Bay Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans took to Instagram recently to let everyone know the Bucs are coming, and TB12 was all about it.

Tom Brady will have the benefit of working with two Pro Bowl wide receiver in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin when he gets under center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this fall.

Brady, the six-time Super Bowl champion, is hoping to make it ring number seven in 2020, and to do that he’ll have to guide the Bucs back to the postseason for the first time since 2007. And if he gets all the way to Super Bowl LV, he and the Bucs will become the first team in NFL history to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium.

While we’ve yet to see the talented trio of Brady, Evans and Godwin on the field together, Evans is letting everyone know the Bucs are coming. The wideout took to his Instagram story today to post the below image.

Take a look.

Brady reposted the image on his own Instagram story, adding a few emojis for emphasis.

You’ve been warned, NFL. Tampa Bay’s time is now.

Former Brady teammate warns Bucs not to get caught ‘Brady-watching’

Former Patriots LB Tedy Bruschi had some words of wisdom (or warning) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The NFL announced that it will release its full 17-week schedule next week, despite the uncertain future surrounding leagues around the world in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Perhaps no NFL team is more anxious (and hopeful) for a 2020 season to start on time than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been the major story this offseason after landing quarterback Tom Brady in free agency and then swinging a trade for retired tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Brady’s arrival in Tampa will hopefully bring with it an end to a Bucs-playoff drought that’s stretched more than a decade. The Bucs haven’t been to the playoffs since 2007 and haven’t won a postseason game since their Super Bowl XXXVII victory following the 2002 season. But having a six-time Super Bowl champion like Brady under center brings with it immediate championship expectations.

But, as former Brady teammate Tedy Bruschi warned, Bucs players will have to stop themselves from “Brady-watching.”

Bruschi, who won three Super Bowls with the Patriots and played with Brady from 2000 to 2008, spoke about the mindset some of Brady’s old New England teammates tended to fall into if they dropped a pass or gave up a touchdown late in the game.

Per Bruschi (via ESPN):

“They need to get over Brady-watching. Because they get to the sideline and all of a sudden it’s like, ‘It’s OK, Tom will bail us out.’ That’s what I call Brady-watching. I’ll be watching that early on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, if they’re Brady-watching or if they feel themselves as a team that everything is important, and not just when that guy right there is under center and everything is gonna magically happen.”

Bruce Arians is going to have to manage expectations with this team and remind them they haven’t accomplished anything as a group. What Brady (and Gronk) did in New England has no bearing on how the Bucs will do this season.

Bucs fans are welcome to Brady-watch until they’re blue in the face. But the players? Not so much.

You won’t believe which tight end Bill Barnwell thinks the Bucs could trade

See why Bill Barnwell of ESPN believes the Buccaneers could end up trading this tight end down the road.

The NFL draft came and went, and despite rumors that Bucs tight end O.J. Howard could be moved in a trade, especially after Tampa Bay acquired Rob Gronkowski in a trade with the Patriots, the former first-round pick remains on the roster.

With their top three tight ends accounting for nearly $20 million in salary next season, the Bucs could very well decide to move a tight end down the road. And, in his latest column predicting the player most likely to be cut or traded by his team, Bill Barnwell pegged Cameron Brate as that player for the Bucs.

Per Barnwell:

“I thought it made more sense for the Bucs to move on from the more-expensive Brate as opposed to former first-round pick O.J. Howard. Tampa general manager Jason Licht has since gone on to say he wasn’t looking to deal Howard, and while that could be a negotiating ploy, the draft came and went without a Howard deal. The Bucs could still keep all three tight ends, but as veterans who might help their defense come free, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tampa clears out cap space with a Brate trade.”

I think the Bucs will wait and see whether Brate or Howard emerge as Brady’s second option at tight end. Howard did exceptionally well as a blocker last year, so the Bucs may be more interested in keeping him around for that. We’ll have a better idea of how this team will look once we see them on the field together. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait much longer.

The last time Brady’s team drafted an OT in Round 1 they won the Super Bowl, but there’s a catch

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted OT Tristan Wirfs with the 13th overall pick. The last time a Brady team did that they won the Super Bowl.

When Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, it became clear that the team’s top priority entering the NFL draft would be to get one of this year’s top-ranked tackles to help shore up the O-line. After pulling off a trade with the Niners to move up one spot, the Bucs took Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs with the 13th overall pick.

And for any superstitious fans out there, they should know that the last time Tom Brady’s team drafted an OT in round one they won the Super Bowl the following season — but there’s a catch.

The player was tackle Isaiah Wynn out of Georgia, who the Patriots selected with the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 draft. Brady and the Pats marched to an 11-5 record in 2018 on their way to winning Super Bowl LIII over the Los Angeles Rams.

But Wynn didn’t play in the Super Bowl. In fact, he didn’t play a single regular-season snap in 2018 after suffering a torn Achilles during the preseason. The Patriots did, however, get major contribution from their other 2018 first-round pick, running back Sony Michel, who was also Wynn’s teammate at Georgia.

Let’s hope Wirfs has a better start to his NFL career than Wynn. But, let’s hope their rookie seasons both end in championships for Tom Brady.
