Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball aren’t the only ones working on the 2025 recruiting class. Mark Stoops and his staff are busy trying to get a class together as well. One of their targets, Isaac Sowells, nicknamed “Spike”, has the Cats in his final five schools.
Sowells is a three-star interior offensive lineman from Louisville. He the number 33 IOL according to 247sports, and one of the state of Kentucky’s best players.

The 6’2″ 295 lb lineman has narrowed his recruitment down to five schools, with the Wildcats being one. Louisville is another one. The other three are Miami, South Carolina, and North Carolina State.
Sowells has visits scheduled with each of his final choices over the next few weeks. He plans to make his announcement on July 18th.
Kentucky’s staff will await Sowells’ decision, and his addition would certainly be a nice one. A good offensive line is necessary, and Sowells has the potential to be very good. After all, you can’t go wrong with a 300 lb lineman named “Spike.”
