Auburn football’s top 20 passers ever

Where does your favorite Auburn quarterback rank all-time?

Auburn football has a decorated history of quarterbacks.

The Tigers have had multiple quarterbacks hoist Heisman Trophies at the end of the year as well as seen their passers taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. Bu where do these special players rank among Auburn football history?

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix will more than likely get a great opportunity to climb this list during the 2021 college football season.

Despite inconsistent quarterback play as of late, Auburn fans have seen several signal-callers throw the ball all over the field.

Let’s take a look at the leading passers in Auburn football history.

Why Alabama fans are distancing themselves from Milo’s sweet tea

An Alabama tradition that is leaving Crimson Tide fans feeling betrayed.

Yesterday, the NCAA passed an interim policy supporting student-athletes’ ability to benefit off their name, image and likeness. Today, college players all across the nation are taking advantage of the opportunity.

One quarterback on Auburn’s roster named Bo Nix managed to land a deal with a local company you may, or may not, have heard of.

Milo’s sweet tea is a southern favorite. It’s hard to open up a fridge in the state of Alabama and not see a gallon jug of the stuff. However, Alabama fans are now taking to Twitter to show they are distancing themselves from the brand.

WATCH: Alabama fan throws out Milo’s gallon of tea after Bo Nix endorsement

This makes me want to drink Milo’s tea even more!

Alabama fans can be babies sometimes, can’t they?

On Thursday, Auburn quarterback Bo Nix announced his partnering with Milo’s as an endorsement as the name, like and image rule came into play for NCAA student-athletes.

Well, one Crimson Tide fan just couldn’t handle drinking the same drink that a Tiger endorsed so they filmed them taking the gallon of Milo’s tea out of the refrigerator and pouring it down a drain.

I’m certain that fan will regret his decision when he is thirsty again.

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix immediately scored an endorsement deal after the NIL rule change

That was fast.

It hasn’t even been a full day since the NCAA board of governors announced new rules to allow college athletes to benefit from their name, image and likeness, and we’re already seeing the groundbreaking change in action.

Where a number of college athletes announced intentions to pursue endorsement deals, Auburn quarterback Bo Nix was ready to go the second the NIL rules were changed — almost literally.

Come Thursday’s official start of the rule change, the Auburn quarterback took to Instagram and posted his first sponsored photo. He is now endorsed by Milo’s Tea Company. And he made the post right as the clock hit midnight locally.

Nix wrote:

How SWEET it is to partner with @drinkmilos for my first sponsorship as a college athlete! Milo’s Tea is a family tradition at the Nix house—especially for holidays—so I’m excited to represent the best sweet tea ever!

Even North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell was impressed with the speed that Nix moved at:

Hey, time is money after all.

While Nix appears to be among the first athletes with an endorsement deal, he definitely won’t be the last. The long overdue NIL changes are just getting started, which might also make for an awkward time for Dabo Swinney.

SEC football: QB rankings ahead of the 2021 season

Here’s a look at where each SEC quarterback stands ahead of the upcoming season.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Every offseason, several analysts make way-too-early predictions and release position rankings months ahead of the season that could end up aligning pretty close to reality or that could end up being entirely off-base.

In all of this, preseason quarterback rankings are among the most interesting to look at.

Will JT Daniels be the signal-caller he showed he could be and take Georgia to new heights in 2021? Could Will Rogers be the quarterback Mississippi State needs to ignite the Air Raid offense in the SEC? Will Max Johnson be an important piece to helping LSU return to its 2019 glory?

These are all questions with answers that could go in two completely different directions and that could have a major impact on how teams finish out in the conference.

Here’s a look at where each SEC quarterback stands ahead of the 2021 season.

Who’s better: Bryce Young or Bo Nix? Twitter weighs in

Alabama football will have Bryce Young at the helm of the Crimson Tide offense, and Auburn will once again have Bo Nix, one Twitter user …

Alabama will have a new quarterback at the helm of the dangerous Crimson Tide offense. No longer will it be Mac Jones, who proudly served in the role as the starter for one amazing season. It is now Bryce Young’s turn.

His counterpart, however, Bo Nix over on the eastern side of the state of Alabama (or southern if we’re asking Bryan Harsin) is getting ready for his third season as the Auburn quarterback.

Recently, one Twitter user gave out a take that claims he would rather have Bo Nix as his team’s quarterback than Bryce Young.

Well, Alabama fans found the tweet and turned it into comedy gold.

This tweeter believes Auburn should keep Bo Nix. All is right in the world.

LOL.

Steve Harvey reactions never get old.

There is some height difference between the two.

Rick Ross found that tweet funny.

KD thinks this has the whole squad laughing.

SEC football: Ranking the quarterbacks for 2021

The SEC will field some of the top quarterbacks in college football in 2021. Despite losing Mac Jones, Kyle Trask, Kellen Mond, Feleipe Franks, Collin Hill and Terry Wilson, the position is still loaded with talent.

But how would I rank them?

Well, the top 3 — at least in my opinion — are fairly easy to rank. So are the bottom 3, if I’m speaking candidly. But the other eight spots are fairly difficult to rank. Really, all 14 teams have at least some potential at the position.

Still, I did my best in a recent piece for OutKick. You can find all of my rankings below, but if you’d like a breakdown of each pick, be sure to click here for a link.

Auburn’s pass offense? Pro Football Focus thinks it is going to be bad this season

Pro Football Focus predicts Auburn’s passing game to be among the worst in the SEC during the 2021 college football season.

A lot of focus this offseason and into the start of the schedule is on Bo Nix and his progression as both a passer and leader for the Auburn offense under new head coach Bryan Harsin and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Likely to be the starter for the third straight season, Nix is still looking to break out for the Tigers after a mediocre sophomore season in which he threw just 12 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

According to Pro Football Focus, that trend continues this season for Auburn’s passing game and Nix.

The bad news is that Auburn will likely have one of the worst passing offenses in the SEC this year. Running back Tank Bigsby, the nation’s top returning back in our 2021 preseason rankings, can only carry the entire offense so far. The Tigers ranked fourth-to-last in the SEC in successful pass play rate in 2020. Their top three wide receivers from that group all took off for the NFL, too, leaving quarterback Bo Nix, who owns a middling 66.2 passing grade for his career, with no proven option to throw to.

The departures of Seth Williams, Eli Stove and Anthony Schwartz has left a void in receivers that Nix has had a bond with over the past two seasons. During the annual A-Day Spring Game, the quarterback seemed to find Elijah Canion the most, including on a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone.

Taking an early look at the top 15 QB prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft class

The Eagles will now embark on a long-term rebuild with a new head coach in Nick Sirianni and a fresh start at quarterback with Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles used a 2020 second-round pick on Hurts and since the four games in 2020 weren’t a true gauge of his talents at quarterback, he’ll get the entire 2021 season to prove he’s the guy.

With the Eagles passing on a quarterback, Philadelphia has started the process of building around Hurts and he’ll every opportunity to become the signal-caller of the future.

If Hurts isn’t the answer during 2021, the 2022 NFL Draft class offers some interesting prospects, but none with the resume of Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, or Trey Lance.

Below we give an early look at 15 of the top quarterbacks who could be options for the Eagles and their two possible three first-round picks depending on the Colts 2021 season.
