WATCH: Alabama fan throws out Milo’s gallon of tea after Bo Nix endorsement

This makes me want to drink Milo’s tea even more!

Alabama fans can be babies sometimes, can’t they?

On Thursday, Auburn quarterback Bo Nix announced his partnering with Milo’s as an endorsement as the name, like and image rule came into play for NCAA student-athletes.

Well, one Crimson Tide fan just couldn’t handle drinking the same drink that a Tiger endorsed so they filmed them taking the gallon of Milo’s tea out of the refrigerator and pouring it down a drain.

I’m certain that fan will regret his decision when he is thirsty again.

Auburn’s pass offense? Pro Football Focus thinks it is going to be bad this season

Pro Football Focus predicts Auburn’s passing game to be among the worst in the SEC during the 2021 college football season.

A lot of focus this offseason and into the start of the schedule is on Bo Nix and his progression as both a passer and leader for the Auburn offense under new head coach Bryan Harsin and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Likely to be the starter for the third straight season, Nix is still looking to break out for the Tigers after a mediocre sophomore season in which he threw just 12 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

According to Pro Football Focus, that trend continues this season for Auburn’s passing game and Nix.

The bad news is that Auburn will likely have one of the worst passing offenses in the SEC this year. Running back Tank Bigsby, the nation’s top returning back in our 2021 preseason rankings, can only carry the entire offense so far. The Tigers ranked fourth-to-last in the SEC in successful pass play rate in 2020. Their top three wide receivers from that group all took off for the NFL, too, leaving quarterback Bo Nix, who owns a middling 66.2 passing grade for his career, with no proven option to throw to.

The departures of Seth Williams, Eli Stove and Anthony Schwartz has left a void in receivers that Nix has had a bond with over the past two seasons. During the annual A-Day Spring Game, the quarterback seemed to find Elijah Canion the most, including on a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone.

Updated BetMGM Heisman Trophy odds for Tank Bigsby, Bo Nix

Could Auburn have a battle for who wins the Heisman Trophy in its own backfield?

Probably not, but the people over at BetMGM are putting two Tigers on their list of potential contenders.

Auburn sophomore running back Tank Bigsby, expected to be one of the top backs in the nation, comes in at +6600 on the board while junior quarterback Bo Nix, who quarterback coach Jordan Palmer thinks can be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, is a bigger long shot at +10000.

Bigsby rushed for 834 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman last season while battling injuries during the final part of the schedule. Pro Football Focus has named him the top returning running back for this upcoming season.

Nix, who regressed as a passer as a sophomore, threw for 2,415 and 12 touchdowns while getting intercepted seven times. He completed just 59.9 percent of his passes in the 11 games while also rushing for seven scores.

Here are the top 10 favorites for the 2021 Heisman Trophy:

247Sports lists the one factor that will determine Auburn’s 2021 season

Auburn will once again rely on quarterback Bo Nix as the Tigers look to improve in Bryan Harsin’s first year on the Plains.

Auburn has a lot of questions marks heading into the 2021 season as Bryan Harsin tries to find the magical formula in his first year in charge of the Tigers.

One of those questions is the play of quarterback Bo Nix who regressed in almost every single way last season after being named the SEC Freshman Player of the Year in 2019.

The good people over at 247Sports know how important the now-junior signal-caller is to the success of the Tigers this upcoming season, listing him as the biggest factor for Auburn this year.

QB1 needs to be a difference-maker. No doubt there are more questions than answers for how Auburn is going to look this season under first-year coach Bryan Harsin, notably at the wideout spot and certain areas defensively, but if third-starter Bo Nix doesn’t produce his best campaign at quarterback, above-average play in those other spots isn’t going to amount to much. That’s how important No. 10 is the Tigers’ success in 2021. Nix is playing for his third offensive coordinator in three seasons and has struggled to find any semblance of a rhythm. Perhaps that changes under Harsin, who will likely take a stubborn approach in the ground game with Tank Bigsby and alleviate some of the pressure off Nix from a production standpoint.

Playing behind a veteran offensive line this season, Nix looks to improve on a season in which he completed 59.9% of his pass attempts for 2,415 yards and 12 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

With no clear No. 2 at the position behind him, the offense will depend on Nix to be both productive and stay healthy.

Auburn A-Day: Twitter reactions to annual spring game

Auburn held its first spring game under Bryan Harsin on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium and Twitter had its reactions.

Auburn held its first A-Day Spring Game of the Bryan Harsin era on Saturday in front of 25,210 fans in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Bo Nix looked as solid as you can take out of a spring game while Tank Bigsby looked healthy after suffering from some injuries near the end of last season.

Here’s what Auburn Twitter was talking about before, during and after the game.

Five quick takeaways from Auburn’s 2021 A-Day Spring Game

Bo Nix looked solid and Tank Bigsby looked great while the Auburn defense held tough in the A-Day Spring Game on Saturday.

It is difficult to tell much about a team as a whole after its annual spring game but, usually, a few players pop up and make some noise and show they are ready to have a great season.

Auburn’s A-Day Spring Game was no different as the Tigers held its first one in the Bryan Harsin era. There were some surprises, some things you expected to see and a few other notable performances.

Here are five quick takeaways from the day as the White team beat the Blue team 17-3.

Tony Barnhart asks the important question: Will Bo Nix improve under new staff?

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is looking to improve upon a mediocre sophomore season with new coaches Bryan Harsin and Mike Bobo in charge.

There is no question that Bo Nix regressed as a sophomore in 2020 at the quarterback position. Although part of that is due to an offensive line that gave him absolutely no time in the pocket, Nix still suffered from accuracy issues along with focusing on his first read.

With new head coach Bryan Harsin and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo in charge on the Plains now, every Auburn fan is wondering if Nix will start to thrive under the new mentorship. Mr. College Football Tony Barnhart is certain he will due to the advice of a former quarterback under Bobo.

Auburn’s Bo Nix is going to be a more consistent and productive quarterback with Mike Bobo as his coach this season.

Says who? Says Shockley, who played for Bobo at Georgia (2001-2005).

“Coach Bobo takes a quarterback and coaches him from the ground up,” said Shockley. “He’ll start with the footwork and work all the way up to his arm and on to his decision making. Bo has talent but he needs this kind of coaching. I think he’ll have his best year.”

That is positive news for the Tigers as Nix enters his junior season.

Bo Nix’s last signature win was against Oregon, says 247Sports. We disagree.

247Sports ignores the 2019 Iron Bowl victory by Auburn against Alabama when saying Bo Nix has only one signature win in his career.

[jwplayer sSpPH7QS-er0jUifI]

In his two seasons as quarterback for Auburn, Bo Nix has had his ups and downs including continued struggles on the road.

He has also had some memorable moments, including in his collegiate debut against Oregon when he hit Seth Williams for the game-winning touchdown with just seconds left. In a piece listing the Tigers’ matchup against rival Georgia as one of the most intriguing in the SEC in 2021, 247Sports states that win against the Pac-12 Ducks was Nix’s last (and figuring it was his first ever college game), only signature win.

We tend to disagree big time on this one. Are they ignoring the 2019 Iron Bowl, the game that kept arch-rival Alabama out of the College Football Playoff and helped the Tigers finish the regular season off on a high note? Isn’t leading Auburn to an Iron Bowl victory as a freshman quite a signature to put on your first season?

Now, it isn’t like Nix lit it up against the Tide in the 48-45 wild victory. He finished 15-of-30 for 173 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 44 yards and a score. Those are pedestrian numbers. Yet here is the one thing he did that future star Mac Jones couldn’t: not turn the ball over.

Despite facing pressure from the Tide defensive front the entire game, Nix stayed calm and didn’t force any passes. His touchdown pass to Sal Cannella at the end of the first half was one of his best, finding the tall wide receiver along the sidelines in the end zone.

With a one-point lead after Shaun Shivers’ touchdown run that knocked Xavier McKinney’s helmet into another zip code, Nix came through huge with a two-point conversion when he found Shedrick Jackson after rolling to his right.

Oh, and that seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter? That looked pretty Nick Marshall-esque if I do say so myself.

After saying the Oregon win was his last signature win, 247Sports goes on to say that a win against Georgia could be a big moment in Bryan Harsin’s first season on the Plains.

“Insert new coach Bryan Harsin into the equation and perhaps Auburn surprises those expecting a lopsided game in this matchup. The Tigers have lost seven of their last eight contests in the rivalry series and could use a victory in this spot to produce an early eyebrow-raiser under Harsin’s regime.”

A victory against the Bulldogs would, in fact, be huge for the Tigers as they try to get some momentum going in the Harsin era. Georgia, as it was pointed out, has controlled the series lately and was one of the biggest complaints about former coach Gus Malzahn.

Yet we shouldn’t forget about the way Nix played in his first Iron Bowl, a game that you just know he grew up dreaming of playing in. Facing one of the top defenses in the country, the quarterback held steady and put together a game where he helped the Tigers win and did nothing to possibly help Auburn lose.

A win against the arch-rival powerhouse to keep them out of the playoff and send Nick Saban to the SEC office whining? Yeah, I would call that signature.
