Saturday’s contest was the second of a three-game series between the Vols and Wildcats at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Sunday’s series finale will take place at 1 p.m. EDT and can be watched on SEC Network+.

Tennessee opened Saturday’s matchup with back-to-back home runs by Christian Moore and Blake Burke. Moore served as the Vols’ leadoff hitter and his home run tied Burke for Tennessee’s career home run record (43).

Burke’s home run in the next at bat placed him again as the Vols’ career home run leader with 44.

Blake Burke started at first base for the Vols. Burke went 1-for-4 and extended his hit streak to 28 games, breaking Condredge Holloway’s program record of 27 consecutive contests with one hit.

Tennessee and Kentucky will continue its three-game series on Saturday.

First pitch for game No. 2 is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday, while Sunday’s series finale will take place at 1 p.m. EDT. Both contests can be watched on SEC Network+.

Tennessee junior first baseman Blake Burke went 1-for-5 and hit one home run, extending his hit streak to 21 games. He set the Vols’ program career home run record (41), passing Luc Lipcius.

Burke also recorded one RBI and one run against Auburn on Saturday.

The Vols hit six home runs on Saturday: Dalton Bargo (2), Blake Burke (1), Dylan Dreiling (2) and Christian Moore (1). Burke hit his 41st career home run, setting a Tennessee program record.

Christian Moore led Tennessee with six RBIs. Moore has 39 career home runs with the Vols.

Drew Beam (4-1) started and pitched seven innings for Tennessee. He recorded eight strikeouts, while allowing one walk and one earned run. Beam totaled 98 pitches, including 65 strikes, against 25 batters.

Christian Moore started at second base for the Vols and went 2-for-5. He recorded a two-run home run, one double, two runs and two RBIs.

Kavares Tears also hit a two-run home run for Tennessee. He went 2-for-3 and totaled two RBIs and one run.

AJ Causey (5-2) started for the Vols and took the loss and pitched 1.1 innings. He allowed eight hits and eight earned runs, while recording four strikeouts.

Burke also hit his 39th career home run in the fifth inning. Luc Lipcius holds Tennessee’s career home run record. Lipcius hit 40 home runs for the Vols from 2017-22.

Burke hit 16 home runs as a sophomore in 2022, while hitting 14 as a freshman in 2022.

The Rebels tied the Southeastern Conference series.

Hunter Ensley went 3-for-4 and recorded one home run, one double, two RBIs and one run for the Vols.

Blake Burke went 1-for-4, recoding one run and one stolen base, while Kavares Tears went 1-for-4 and recorded one run. Billy Amick went 1-for-4 and scored one run for Tennessee.

AJ Russell (0-1) pitched three innings and allowed four runs, two hits and six walks. He recorded three strikeouts for Tennessee.

Drew Beam started for the Vols and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) and six hits. He recorded five strikeouts.

Zander Sechrist started for Tennessee and pitched three innings and recorded three strikeouts. He allowed one walk and zero hits. Sechrist totaled 40 pitches, including 25 strikes, against 10 batters.

Kirby Connell (2-0) earned a win after pitching 2.1 innings in relief and recorded two strikeouts.

Tennessee totaled eight hits in the contest, including a home run by Blake Burke.

Burke went 1-for-4 and recorded two RBIs, two runs and one walk. Tuesday’s home run is his 38th at Tennessee. Luc Lipcius holds the Tennessee career record for home runs (40).

Alabama tied the series and ended the Vols’ 17-game win streak.

Tennessee left the bases loaded in the first inning and stranded nine runners on base in the contest.

Christian Moore went 4-for-5 and hit one home run and one double, while Robin Villeneuve went 1-for-4 and hit one home run for the Vols.

Blake Burke went 2-for-5 and recorded one double.

Drew Beam pitched a complete game for the Vols. He pitched eight innings and allowed six runs (five earned), eight hits and two walks, while recording six strikeouts.

Blake Burke went 3-for-5, recording one home run, three runs and two RBIs for Tennessee. Dylan Dreiling went 2-for-4 and totaled one home run, one triple, two runs and two RBIs for the Vols.

Billy Amick went 2-for-3 and scored two runs, while Kavares Tears went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBIs for Tennessee.

Tennessee recorded 12 hits in the contest.
