Wisconsin football to play two Friday games in 2024 season

Reaction to the news that Wisconsin football will play (at least) two Friday games in 2024 season?

The Wisconsin Badgers will play at least two games on Friday during their 2024 football season.

The team’s schedule — including kick times, dates and television channels — is beginning to be announced. Information was released in the last week that the Badgers will open the season on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024 at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central against Western Michigan and close the regular season on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at noon Eastern, 11 a.m. Central against Minnesota.

This news dropped after it appeared that the Badgers had avoided Fox’s Friday night schedule. But the team will still play on that day of the week, with Week 1’s night game vs. Western Michigan on Fox Sports 1 and Week 14’s rivalry-week Black Friday game vs. Minnesota on CBS.

The information is important not only to Badgers fans looking to watch the team, but also to season-ticket holders. All four of the recently-released game times are for home games — three out-of-conference contests and vs. Minnesota.

Many may not like the idea of college football’s oldest rivalry moving to the afternoon of Black Friday. But television networks control most of the sport, and CBS thought the holiday afternoon time slot was too attractive to pass up.

This is the first leak of the Raiders schedule. The exact time of the game is not yet known, so , though is is an Amazon Prime game, we can’t yet say if it’s technically a prime *time* game.

Why these 6 NFL coaches might not be fired on Black Monday 2024

Why should these six NFL coaches on the hot seat return to their franchises next season?

The NFL’s most feared day is quickly approaching: Black Monday.

While some NFL coaches have already been let go, more will likely meet their respective ends once the regular season concludes on Sunday.

Teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders might already be doing the work to find their new coaches, while other teams like the New England Patriots and Washington Commanders seem destined to part ways with their coaches.

We’ve identified six franchises that could make changes on the NFL’s saddest day, and why those coaches should perhaps be retained.

Let’s take the positive slant, shall we? Let’s ask why these six coaches should be retained at the end of the season as opposed to being let go.

Twitter reacts to Dolphins’ Black Friday 34-13 rout of the Jets

Here are some of the best tweets to emerge from the Miami Dolphins’ 34-13 win over the New York Jets on Black Friday.

Black Friday is made for deals, and the Miami Dolphins sure came away with a bargain as they routed the New York Jets 34-13 Friday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

Tua Tagovailoa was surgical, although he did throw two interceptions. Nevertheless the remaining 21-of-30 for 243 yards and a touchdown isn’t that bad of a stat line.

Compare that to the Jets’ 159 yards of total offense. New York averaged 2.9 yards per play.

New York also entered another embarrassing play into Thanksgiving holiday lore. What could be more magical?

Twitter was full of takes and responses as the Dolphins doled out the punishment. Here are some of the best reactions.

The Jets had a short week to get over their embarrassing 32-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. The good news is they kick off a three-game homestand with the NFL’s first game ever played on Black Friday (or the third, depending on your view since two AFL games were also played on Black Friday). They take on the Miami Dolphins with Tim Boyle now as the starter after the Jets benched Zach Wilson yet again. Here’s your game information for Week 12.

Idea of first Black Friday game in New York helped Jets land historic game

Football and shopping together in New York makes perfect sense on Black Friday

The Jets will host the Miami Dolphins in the first ever game to take place on Black Friday. The game is set for a 3:00 kickoff and will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon ended up liking the idea of having the game in New York, the No. 1 retail location in America, on a day that is all about shopping. That plus the addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers helped make the Jets a very viable option for this game.

The league was also considering Steelers at Bengals for the game. In fact, the Bengals offered to be featured annually on Black Friday, just like the Lions and Cowboys traditionally play on Thanksgiving.

In the end, the Rodgers effect came through again for the Jets and is why they will help make history in the NFL as the first home team for a Black Friday game.

Aaron Rodgers and Jets to face Dolphins on Black Friday

What teams will play in the NFL’s first Black Friday game?

The arrival of Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets means Gang Green is suddenly an enticing team for the NFL to feature.

To that end, the league will have Rodgers and his new teammates in the first Black Friday game in NFL history.

It will be an AFC East clash as the Jets meet the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 24 at MetLife.

Front Office Sports reported how much it will cost Amazon for the game:

On Christmas, an NFC East game will take center stage.

Amazon Prime to stream live NFL game on Black Friday

The NFL game on Black Friday will be streamed for free by Amazon Prime

The NFL is going to play a game on Black Friday in 2023 and it will be streamed — for free — on Prime Video, it was announced Tuesday.

“It’s such an unusual day because so many people have it off work, so it’s really a unique opportunity to expose all fans to our broadcast,” Prime Video vice president Jay Marine said.

The additional game gives Prime Video 16 regular-season games for the 2023 season. Those will air from Weeks 2-17. Prime Video also will air a preseason game.

According to Nielsen figures, the 15-game package on Prime Video averaged 9.58 million viewers while Amazon’s first-party viewership measurement showed an average of 11.3 million.
