NFL Black Friday schedule: What games are on TV today?

Here’s what you can watch on Black Friday among the Week 13 schedule.

The NFL is starting a new trend this holiday season by giving fans an extra game on Friday afternoon.

Each year, the Thanksgiving festivities begin with food, thanks and joy around the family. Then, everyone says, “forget that,” to watch three football games leading deep into the evening just in time for dessert.

The Detroit Lions survived a scare with the Chicago Bears at Ford Field because of what had to be the worst clock management moment in NFL history. That final drive eventually cost third-year coach Matt Eberflus his job in a 23-20 loss.

The Dallas Cowboys secured bragging rights over the New York Giants behind a 110-yard outing from running back Rico Dowdle. The Giants remain in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick, while Dallas improved to 5-7 and entered the chat for a potential nine-win season.

Thanksgiving Day wrapped up with the Green Bay Packers improving to 9-3 with a double-digit win over the Miami Dolphins. Jordan Love tossed two touchdown passes while the Phins froze in the first half and couldn’t overcome a three-touchdown lead in the second half.

But “Black Friday” will offer one more matchup with significant AFC Playoff implications on the line as the Kansas City Chiefs (10-1) host the Las Vegas Raiders (2-9) at 2:00 p.m. The Chiefs-Raiders game will be available to stream exclusively on Prime.

Kansas City, which hosts the Houston Texans in Week 16, could clinch a playoff spot with the help of several others over the weekend with a victory at Arrowhead.

We’re back with an all-new episode of the Chiefs Wire podcast! This week, we’re previewing the Kansas City Chiefs Week 13 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Senior Writer Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Pro Football Hall of Famer Marcus Allen about his five-year stint with Kansas City in the 1990s and playing on both sides of the Chiefs vs. Raiders rivalry.

We check in with this past week’s press conferences, featuring comments from head coach Andy Reid following the victory over the Carolina Panthers. Lastly, Easton Jr. spoke to 2023 NWSL champion NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Midge Purce about having a legendary NFL quarterback as part of the team’s ownership and the power of celebrity investment in the league.

The latest episode of the Chiefs Wire Podcast will inform listeners about all developments in the team’s mindset heading home to Arrowhead Stadium for Week 13’s rare Black Friday matchup with the Raiders following their nail-biting road victory over Carolina last Sunday. We also learn more about Allen’s Hall of Fame career and Purce’s take on NFL stars like KC Current co-owner Patrick Mahomes’ investment in women’s sports.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones isn’t a fan of playing weekday games: ‘I rather just play on Sunday’

Kansas City #Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones isn’t a fan of playing weekday games: ‘I rather just play on Sunday’ | @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs will play the Las Vegas Raiders in the second-ever NFL game on Black Friday. The monumental showcase at Arrowhead Stadium is exciting for audiences worldwide but can be taxing on the players involved from both teams.

Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has never been shy about sharing his thoughts on any matter throughout his career. During Tuesday’s press conference, he gave his thoughts on playing another game on a short week with reporters.

” I rather just play on Sunday, not these Thursday and Friday games. It’s not enough rest time, but i get it. We was allocated for the spot, only teams playing,” said Jones. “Personally for me, I love my rest. I have a recovery routine. Throughout the week, my body kind of gets used to it. So, to kind of speed it up, everything that’s challenging at points.”

Jones hasn’t racked up the sack numbers this season due to constant double-teams but has opened up opportunities for teammates. He won’t like playing on Friday but will still perform like it was a typical Sunday anyway.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes describes leadership during season’s challenges

Kansas City #Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes describes leadership during season’s challenges | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke with reporters on Tuesday about the challenges and injuries the team has faced so far this season. He discussed his leadership during tough times and his trust in his teammates.

“I think it’s just having a standard every single day. You would think it would be a different challenge, but I think with the guys that the coaches have brought in, the guys understand that this is how we work, how we practice, and how we get after it on a day-to-day basis,” said Mahomes. “We’re probably in the building more than a lot of teams, we’re probably on the practice field more than a lot of teams, but it’s the standard that we’ve kind of upheld, and that starts at the top, and it goes throughout the entire team.”

The Chiefs have rallied to win multiple games this season despite vital players missing. The team’s unity has continued to be the reason for their success, and Mahomes praises other veteran leaders in the locker room.

“Whenever you get in these tough times, you know that we’ve been through this together (and) we’ve held ourselves to these standards that we’re going to go out there and win,” said Mahomes. “I’m one of those leaders but there’s many of them. It’s not just me. I don’t have to – I don’t have to talk a lot, honestly, because we have a lot of leaders throughout the entire team that kind of hold themselves accountable.”

The Chiefs rely on their team leadership with the short week and ‘Black Friday’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Chiefs LB Nick Bolton reveals his plans for the short week ‘Black Friday’ game vs. Raiders

Kansas City #Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton reveals his plans for the short week ‘Black Friday’ game vs. the Las Vegas #Raiders | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton spoke with the media via Zoom on Monday about the team’s quick turnaround for their Week 13 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. The AFC West rivals will face off at Arrowhead Stadium for another holiday matchup on Black Friday, almost a year after they crossed paths on Christmas Day last season.

“(I) definitely have family coming in town – Thanksgiving. Everybody understands that, but – just a short week coming from an away game, try to get guys healthy as much as we can and just get back in the swing of things. It’s a short week.” said Bolton. “We have a different opponent – completely different offense. Then, they (Las Vegas Raiders) have a new quarterback as well – I think the quarterback (Raiders QB Gardner Minshew) got hurt as well so we have to figure out where we’re going to go in that direction. There’s a lot of moving parts but I think that’s the biggest challenge going into this week.”

The heated division game doesn’t obscure that this Thursday is Thanksgiving, and the Chiefs’ starting middle linebacker shared what he’s thankful for this year.

“I’m thankful for my family and my inner circle,” said Bolton. “Those are those I depend on throughout the week and throughout this season. Health is one of those very fragile things in terms of football. So grateful for that as well.”

The Chiefs are leading the AFC West and are close to clinching another title. The Raiders are struggling this season but are still confident playing in Kansas City after last year’s upset victory, giving the Chiefs more incentive not to take them lightly.

Introduction: A Vision for a Greener Future

The world of fashion often overlooks its environmental impact, but when it comes to sunglasses, the consequences can be surprisingly significant. These stylish accessories, though essential for eye protection, can carry an unintended environmental burden. From their manufacturing processes to their eventual disposal, sunglasses contribute to pollution and waste. However, there is a silver lining: Black Friday sunglasses sales, particularly those at SmartBuyGlasses, are starting to highlight sustainable shopping options. In this article, we’ll delve into the environmental impact of sunglasses and explore how SmartBuyGlasses’ Black Friday deals offer a sustainable shopping solution without sacrificing style or quality.

The Environmental Impact of Sunglasses

Production: More Than Meets the Eye

The journey of a pair of sunglasses begins at the factory, where materials like plastic, metal, and even luxurious materials like titanium and acetate are transformed into fashionable eyewear. However, what many people don’t realize is that the production of sunglasses involves extensive energy consumption and the use of chemicals that can harm the environment. For instance, the popular polycarbonate lenses, often used for their durability, are energy-intensive to produce and not always recyclable.

Many mass-produced sunglasses are made from non-renewable resources, which means they contribute to the depletion of valuable natural materials. While many brands are beginning to take steps toward sustainability, the shift to eco-friendly production methods is still a work in progress.

The Hidden Costs of Packaging

Along with the eyewear itself, sunglasses often come wrapped in layers of non-recyclable packaging. From plastic wraps to cardboard boxes that are not always sustainably sourced, the packaging of sunglasses adds to the environmental toll. While this may seem trivial in comparison to the product itself, the cumulative impact of poor packaging practices can be devastating to our ecosystems.

Luckily, some brands are turning things around by introducing eco-friendly packaging. For instance, SmartBuyGlasses uses recyclable materials for its sunglasses packaging, ensuring that your stylish purchase doesn’t leave a hefty carbon footprint.

Disposal: The End of the Line

Even after careful consideration in production and packaging, many sunglasses are not designed with disposal in mind. Sunglasses that are discarded without recycling can sit in landfills for decades due to the use of plastic and other non-biodegradable materials. Additionally, frames made from materials like acetate can release harmful chemicals as they break down, further impacting the environment.

Fortunately, many eyewear companies are making strides in this area, offering take-back programs where old glasses are recycled, refurbished, or upcycled. This type of initiative helps reduce waste and encourages a circular economy where products are used for as long as possible before being recycled into new items.

How Black Friday Can Support Sustainable Shopping

Black Friday Sunglasses Deals: A Sustainable Shopper’s Dream

Black Friday has long been associated with bargain-hunting and mass consumption, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be environmentally friendly. Black Friday sunglasses sales, especially at stores like SmartBuyGlasses, provide the perfect opportunity to snag a great deal while making a conscious effort to shop sustainably.

SmartBuyGlasses’ Black Friday sunglasses sales focus on offering discounts on eyewear that’s crafted with the environment in mind. From sunglasses made of biodegradable materials to eco-friendly packaging, these sustainable options let you score excellent deals without adding to the planet’s pollution.

When shopping for Black Friday sunglasses, it’s not just about finding a bargain—it’s about finding an eco-friendly option that aligns with your values. With Black Friday fast approaching, now is the time to start considering how your purchasing decisions can contribute to a more sustainable world.

Eco-Friendly Sunglasses: What to Look For

During Black Friday sunglasses sales, you can find a range of eco-friendly options. Look for brands that prioritize sustainable materials such as recycled plastics, bamboo, or wood in their sunglasses frames. Many modern manufacturers also incorporate plant-based materials or biodegradable components that minimize their environmental footprint. These glasses often come with long-lasting quality and are built with the intention of reducing the frequency of replacements.

In addition to eco-friendly frames, consider the sustainability of the lenses. Some companies use lenses made from recycled or eco-friendly materials, which significantly reduces waste compared to traditional plastic lenses.

Why Eco-Friendly Sunglasses Matter

It’s easy to overlook the environmental cost of sunglasses—after all, they’re just accessories, right? But like any other product, sunglasses have a full lifecycle that includes raw material extraction, manufacturing, packaging, and disposal. Each of these stages impacts the planet in different ways, from energy use to pollution.

By opting for sustainable sunglasses, you are contributing to a reduction in waste, resource consumption, and harmful emissions. This is particularly important considering the ever-growing demand for fast fashion and throwaway culture in the accessory market. Sunglasses built for longevity and crafted with eco-conscious materials help combat these negative trends and promote responsible consumption.

Wisconsin football to play two Friday games in 2024 season

Reaction to the news that Wisconsin football will play (at least) two Friday games in 2024 season?

The Wisconsin Badgers will play at least two games on Friday during their 2024 football season.

The team’s schedule — including kick times, dates and television channels — is beginning to be announced. Information was released in the last week that the Badgers will open the season on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024 at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central against Western Michigan and close the regular season on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at noon Eastern, 11 a.m. Central against Minnesota.

This news dropped after it appeared that the Badgers had avoided Fox’s Friday night schedule. But the team will still play on that day of the week, with Week 1’s night game vs. Western Michigan on Fox Sports 1 and Week 14’s rivalry-week Black Friday game vs. Minnesota on CBS.

The information is important not only to Badgers fans looking to watch the team, but also to season-ticket holders. All four of the recently-released game times are for home games — three out-of-conference contests and vs. Minnesota.

Many may not like the idea of college football’s oldest rivalry moving to the afternoon of Black Friday. But television networks control most of the sport, and CBS thought the holiday afternoon time slot was too attractive to pass up.
