Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard talks about his reunion with A.J. Brown; Returning home to Philadelphia to face the Eagles

Kevin Byard is returning home on Sunday and it’ll be an emotional business trip filled with venom and hurt feelings.

Tennessee and Philadelphia is set for a physical matchup in Week 13 and it’ll center around wide receiver A.J. Brown and his draft night trade.

Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and Browns have been friends since their youth football days, while the team’s star safety, Byard, is just looking to have a fun afternoon.

“It’s going to be awesome. Obviously, A.J. is my guy. He’s having success in Philadelphia,” Byard said via Mainstreet Nashville. “I know he’s going to be amped up during the game, and I’m going back to my hometown. It’s going to be more about that for me. I’m going to have some family in the stands as well. It’s gonna be fun. It’s gonna be a great environment. Their fans are pretty crazy.”

Here’s more from Byard on the matchup and returning home.

Titan’ CB Kristian Fulton looking forward to matchup with Eagles’ WR A.J. Brown

Titan cornerback Kristian Fulton says he’s looking forward to his Week 13 matchup with Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown

For the first time since being traded during the 2022 NFL draft, Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown faces the team that initially drafted him.

The Titans are headed to Philadelphia to battle Brown and the Eagles, with Tennessee’s top cornerback fully embracing the challenge.

Kristian Fulton and Brown’s rivalry goes back to the SEC as the cornerback played at LSU, while the wide receiver attended Ole Miss. As teammates with the Titans, Fulton and Brown had their share of battles during practice, and the talented cornerback is looking forward to the real thing in Week 13.

Fulton is the Titans’ top cover guy and will be a player to watch as he’s been dealing with a hamstring injury.

The Eagles (10-1) and Titans (7-4) are set for a physical, Sunday afternoon matchup that’ll involve two division leaders, hurt feelings, and explosive offenses.

Philadelphia counters with Jalen Hurts, Miles Sanders, DeVonta Smith, and A.J. Brown, who’ll be at the center of some trash talk and disdain after a blockbuster draft night trade.

Tennessee with counter the Birds at the quarterback position with Ryan Tannehill, the NFL’s top rusher in Derrick Henry, and the wide receiver drafted to replace A.J. Brown, Treylon Burks.

With so many plots and storylines here’s what the Eagles are saying ahead of Week 13.

Titans injury updates: Kyle Philips, Ola Adeniyi might practice this week

The Titans might see two players on IR return to practice this week, head coach Mike Vrabel said on Monday.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel provided some injury updates on key players going into a massive Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

Center Ben Jones, who missed his second straight game and just the third of his career in Week 12, remains in the concussion protocol. Of course, Tennessee missed Jones badly in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kicker Randy Bullock’s status remains up in the air, but Vrabel did say he is feeling better. It’ll be interesting to see if the Titans go back to Bullock or stick with Caleb Shudak once the former is healthy.

Some good news: it looks like the Titans may see wide receiver Kyle Philips and outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi return to practice. The pair are both on injured reserve and their returns would be welcomed to say the least.

Tennessee needs all the help it can get on offense, and Adeniyi provides valuable depth as an edge defender, as well as great special teams play.

One player we didn’t hear anything about was defensive lineman Denico Autry, who sat out Sunday with a knee injury. The most recent report stated Autry wouldn’t miss the rest of the season, but there’s still no timeline there.

Titans vs. Bengals final Week 12 injury report: 1 ruled out, 5 questionable for Tennessee

Denico Autry has been ruled out and five others are listed as questionable for the Titans ahead of Sunday.

The Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Bengals have released their final injury reports of the week ahead of their Sunday matchup at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Of the several players on their injury report, only one has been ruled out in defensive lineman Denico Autry, who is still recovering from a knee injury suffered last week.

A total of five other players are listed as questionable, including center Ben Jones. The veteran did practice fully on Friday, though, and the hope is that Jones is cleared from the concussion protocol later today.

Of the five players listed as questionable, only kicker Randy Bullock didn’t practice on Friday. Bullock went from limited on Thursday in Tennessee’s estimated injury report, to a did not practice on Friday.

Now, a look at the full injury reports for both teams ahead of Sunday.

Tennessee Titans injury updates after Tuesday’s practice

Some Titans injury updates after Tuesday’s practice.

The Tennessee Titans held a practice on the Tuesday ahead of their Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but unlike typical practices, they weren’t required to provide an injury report.

That first report with participation levels will come on Wednesday, but Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt provided some updates on injured players following Tuesday’s session, albeit without exact participation (limited or full).

Here’s a look at who did and didn’t practice:

Did not practice: K Randy Bullock (calf), DL Denico Autry (knee), C Ben Jones (concussion), CB Kristian Fulton (hamstring)

Did practice: OLB Bud Dupree (hip), S Amani Hooker (shoulder), K Caleb Shudak (leg), CB Elijah Molden (groin)

Also per Wyatt, Dupree stated that his current hip injury is in the opposite leg of his previous one.

Head coach Mike Vrabel noted earlier in the day that Jones remained in the concussion protocol, leaving his status in doubt for Week 12.

Vrabel also noted rookie wideout Kyle Philips, who is currently on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, was unlikely to return to practice this week.

Shudak was designated to return from the PUP list on Tuesday, opening his 21-day window to be activated. The rookie kicker, who impressed in OTAs, could be called into duty as soon as this week if Bullock remains injured. Vrabel said the Titans’ kicker situation is “to be determined.”

The Titans will practice on Wednesday and Friday this week, with an off day for Thanksgiving on Thursday. The Titans and Bengals will kick off from Nissan Stadium at noon CDT on Sunday.

Watch: Titans FaceTime Ben Jones to celebrate Week 11 win

Ben Jones was still able to celebrate with his teammates following the Titans’ Week 11 win over the Packers.

One of the many injured Tennessee Titans not participating in the Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers was center Ben Jones, who was ruled out with a concussion ahead of Thursday.

For Jones, it was just the second game he has missed in his entire 11-year career, with the other coming in 2019, also the result of a concussion.

Even though he wasn’t there in person on Thursday night, Jones was still able to celebrate the win with his coaches and teammates, as the Titans FaceTimed their long-time center following the 27-17 victory.
