Bears Week 18 inactives: Jaylon Johnson, Tyson Bagent OUT vs. Packers

The Bears have released their inactives ahead of their Week 18 finale against the Packers.

The Chicago Bears (7-9) have released their inactives ahead of their Week 18 game against the Green Bay Packers (8-8), where the Bears are looking to record their third consecutive win to close out the 2023 season.

Unfortunately, Chicago will be without some big players against Green Bay. The most notable inactive is cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who suffered a shoulder injury in last week’s win. Johnson, who had a career year that culminated in a Pro Bowl nod, is slated to hit free agency this offseason.

Wide receiver Darnell Mooney was previously ruled out with a concussion, and he’s also slated to hit the open market come March. Running back D’Onta Foreman is a healthy scratch for a second straight game, and it feels like he might’ve played his last down with Chicago.

Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent has been battling an illness all week, and he’s officially out. That means it’ll be Nathan Peterman serving as Justin Fields’ backup in Sunday’s finale.

Here’s a look at the Bears’ inactives:

  • CB Jaylon Johnson
  • WR Darnell Mooney
  • RB D’Onta Foreman
  • QB Tyson Bagent

The Chicago Bears (6-9) have released their inactives ahead of their Week 17 game against the Atlanta Falcons (7-8), where the Bears are looking to record back-to-back wins to close out 2023.

The good news is Chicago will have tight end Cole Kmet in the lineup. Kmet suffered a knee injury in Week 16, and he only practiced (in limited fashion) on Friday. Kmet being active is huge for the Bears’ passing game, as Justin Fields will have his top two targets (DJ Moore and Kmet) available.

Wide receiver Darnell Mooney was previously ruled out with a concussion, and running back D’Onta Foreman was a surprise inactive. Elsewhere, there aren’t any real surprises.

Here’s a look at the Bears’ inactives:

The Chicago Bears (5-9) have released their inactives ahead of their Week 16 game against the Arizona Cardinals (3-11), where the Bears are looking to get back in the win column.

The good news is the Bears will have tight end Cole Kmet at their disposal. Kmet was questionable with a quad injury. Now, Fields has one of his top weapons available against the Cardinals.

Unfortunately, Chicago will be without running back D’Onta Foreman, who is dealing with a personal matter.

Elsewhere, there aren’t any real surprises among inactives. Guard Teven Jenkins (concussion), wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) and linebacker Noah Sewell (knee) had previously been ruled out.

The Chicago Bears (5-8) have released their inactives ahead of their Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns (8-5), where the Bears are looking to extend their winning streak to three games.

The Chicago Bears have released their inactives ahead of their Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, where Chicago is looking to record back-to-back wins.

The Bears will once again be without starting quarterback Justin Fields, who’s sidelined with a right thumb injury. That means it’ll be undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent making his second NFL start — and first in prime time. Other starters such as Nate Davis and Jaquan Brisker are also inactive after being ruled out late in the week.

The good news is safety Eddie Jackson and center Lucas Patrick are both active. Jackson was questionable with a foot injury, while Patrick was a late addition to the injury report on Sunday morning with a back issue.

The Chicago Bears have released their inactives ahead of their Week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, where Chicago is looking to get back in the win column.

The Bears will be without starting quarterback Justin Fields, who’s sidelined with a right thumb injury. That means it’ll be undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent getting the starting nod in his place.

Chicago will also be without some other impact starters in safety Eddie Jackson, who re-aggravated his foot injury in last week’s loss, as well as right guard Nate Davis, who suffered an ankle injury in Week 6.

Meanwhile, Chicago will once again be without a couple of impact rookies in running back Roschon Johnson (concussion) and cornerback Terell Smith (ankle/illness).

The Chicago Bears have released their inactives ahead of their Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings, where Chicago is looking to build on their first victory of the season.

The Bears will have their entire starting secondary back in action against the Vikings. Safety Eddie Jackson, who missed the last three games with a foot injury, is back, alongside cornerback Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon.

Center Lucas Patrick, who suffered a concussion in last week’s win over the Washington Commanders, is also cleared to go. We’ll see if he sees the lineup with changes along the offensive line.

The Chicago Bears have released their inactives ahead of their Week 5 prime-time game against the Washington Commanders, where Chicago desperately needs a win as they look to snap an active 14-game losing streak.

Safety Jaquan Brisker, who was questionable, will play tonight against the Commanders. It’s huge news for hte secondary, already without their top cornerback Jaylon Johnson (hamstring) and safety Eddie Jackson (foot), who were previously ruled out.

Left guard Teven Jenkins was activated off injured reserve earlier today, and he’ll officially be back in the lineup against Washington. It’s a huge boost to the offensive line, as Jenkins was argubaly their best offensive lineman last season.

The Chicago Bears have released their inactives ahead of their Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos, where Chicago desperately needs a win as they look to snap an active 13-game losing streak.

The big news is receiver Chase Claypool is a healthy scratch for today’s game, which was previously reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The move comes after Claypool’s comments to the media this week, where he questioned whether the coaching staff was putting him in the best position to succeed.

With Claypool inactive, receiver Equanimeous St. Brown will be active for the first time this seasons.

Quarterback Nathan Peterman is also inactive, which comes on the heels of a report that rookie Tyson Bagent will be QB2 moving forward.
