Scottie Scheffler’s wife, Meredith, is pregnant with couple’s first child

With a late April due date, it’s possible that Scheffler may play a limited schedule ahead of the PGA Championship.

ORLANDO — Scottie Scheffler and his wife, Meredith, are expecting the couple’s first child in late April. NBC’s Dan Hicks mentioned the pregnancy on the air on Sunday as cameras showed a very pregnant Meredith, who walked the Bay Hill Club & Lodge course during the final round along with Scottie’s parents.

The 27-year-old Scheffler, who won the Arnold Palmer Invitational for his seventh career PGA Tour title, tied the knot in 2020 and had this to say to PGA Tour Sirius/XM Radio about expecting their first child.

“It’s going to be pretty wild. I don’t think it’s hit either of us quite yet, maybe sometime when the baby is moving around in her stomach a bunch, but it’s an exciting time for us as a family,” he said. “It’s been a pretty exciting last seven months or so and we’re looking forward to hopefully getting the baby out of there nice and healthy and with a healthy momma and then we’ll go from there.”

Scheffler said he will play this week at the Players Championship and do his final pre-Masters prep in Houston and take the week off before the Masters, which begins April 11. With a late April due date, it’s possible that Scheffler may play a limited schedule ahead of the PGA Championship in Louisville  beginning May 12.

After Scheffler finished his radio interview, he headed back to the 18th green at Bay Hill for the award ceremony, where he received the red alpaca sweater that Palmer made famous. He turned to Meredith, who was some 50 feet behind him and said, “Hustle up.”

“I’m not exactly fast these days,” she replied.

Here’s wishing the Schefflers well in the final trimester.

Jena Sims and Brooks Koepka share heartfelt welcome to their new baby

The couple’s first child arrived six weeks early and is doing well, according to social posts.

Congratulations to Brooks Koepka and Jena Sims!

The couple who we’ve watched be adorable over the years announced earlier this year that Sims was expecting, and on Thursday she revealed on Instagram Stories that it’s a boy that arrived six weeks ahead of her due date.

Sims then detailed what happened after, including how supportive Koepka was while she had to undergo a C-section. The baby is in the NICU, but by her accounts, is doing well (and we hope that continues to be the case!).

Check out what Koepka posted of the three of them, along with some of the sweet messages from Sims to her husband.

Travis Kelce showed he has his priorities right with answer about his brother’s wife’s near full-term pregnancy

Is this Jason Kelce’s Matrix?

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce used a movie reference to help describe what might happen if his brother’s wife goes into labor during Super Bowl 57.

As you’ve heard, Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles will face off against Travis Kelce and the Chiefs on Sunday for the Lombardi. However, much more important is the fact that Kylie Kelce is expecting her and Jason Kelce’s new baby.

There is a possibility that Kylie Kelce could go into labor during the game, which is why Jason Kelce said she’ll be attending the game with her OB-GYN.

During Monday’s Super Bowl opening night, Travis Kelce shared that his brother will be running the world if his wife goes into labor during the big game, drawing a metaphor from the 1999 sci-fi/action classic The Matrix to make his point.

Hey, we might already be in Jason Kelce’s Matrix as far as we know. That’s the point of The Matrix, after all.

As special as it would be to win a Super Bowl and add a new member of your family on the same day, we’re betting the Kelce family wouldn’t mind having a little breathing room between both huge milestones.

‘Time for some more doo-doo in my life’: Thomas Pieters won’t defend Portugal Masters with baby on the way

Currently ranked No. 35 in the world, Pieters has two top-10 finishes in his last four starts.

Cheyenne Woods and Yankees center fielder Aaron Hicks are expecting a baby boy

“Surprise! 2022 is about to be a great year.”

Cheyenne Woods announced on Instagram that she and Aaron Hicks are expecting a baby boy. Woods, a longtime tour professional and niece of Tiger Woods, got engaged to Hicks, a center fielder for the New York Yankees, last October.

“Surprise!” Woods wrote on Instagram. “2022 is about to be a great year.”

The couple told Golfweek that they first met when Woods interviewed Hicks for her podcast, “Birdies Not BS,” in early 2020 and began dating later that spring.

The 31-year-old Wake Forest grad won the 2014 Volvik RACV Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour and played a hybrid schedule of LPGA and Symetra Tour events in 2021, along with varying roles as an analyst and on-course television reporter.

When Hicks, 32, competed in the celebrity portion of the LPGA’s 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, Woods caddied for him. Just a few days prior, Hicks had caddied for Woods at a Cactus Tour event that she won by 16 shots.

Hicks, who grew up playing golf from ages 5 to 13 until switching to baseball, credited Woods for vastly improving his short game.

“We just play a lot when we’re home (in Arizona),” said Woods, “and we take everybody’s money.”

Rickie Fowler and wife Allison announce new baby girl

Fowler and his wife, the former Allison Stokke, announced on Thanksgiving via social media they had their first child, Maya.

Rickie Fowler is hoping the 2021-22 season is the beginning of a magical second act in his career.

It’s certainly off to a wonderful start.

Fowler and his wife, the former Allison Stokke, announced on Thanksgiving via social media they had their first child, Maya, on November 18, with the message: “My heart is full!!”

After falling to 125th in the Official World Golf Ranking and missing the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time since 2009, Fowler has been in solid form to start the new PGA Tour season.

He missed the cut at the Shriners Children’s Open in his first start in the new campaign, but then finished T-3 at the CJ Cup and has a pair of top-50 finishes in his last two starts. He has rocketed back to No. 81 in the OWGR and stands in the FedEx Cup’s top 50 through the first two months.

Prior to his season debut, Fowler opened up about the pregnancy. The couple has been married for just over two years.

“She’s great. Everything’s gone very well. It’s a lot easier on my end, obviously. She’s pregnant and has to put up with me,” Fowler said. “I’ve heard from a lot of people that when the baby is born is when the light bulb goes off. Allison is leading the charge, as far as getting everything ordered and what not, and I’m trying to play a good supporting role.

“I help her out any way I can. There are plenty of people out there that try and give you their opinion on what to do and what not to do, but at the end of the day, we’re the two on-site and we’ll work together and move forward.

“The thing that makes me feel a little more comfortable, because this is something new, I feel we can do it. And we both come from great families and that has trickled down. But it’s going to be a big change.”

Jaguars DE Dawuane Smoot breaks down delivery of daughter on ‘Good Morning America’

Jags DL Dawuane Smoot calls delivering his daughter, Ahlani Moon Smoot, at home the scariest moment of his life.

Jacksonville defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot goes up against some of the fiercest, strongest and toughest guys in the game on a weekly basis. But the self-described “scariest moment” of his life didn’t come on the gridiron. It was in his own home on Tuesday morning when his newborn daughter was delivered early.

His wife, Aumari, went into labor as the couple was about to leave to go to the hospital around 4 a.m. In the process of heading out of their home, Aumari fell, Smoot caught her, and with no time to go anywhere, Smoot had to help deliver the baby himself.

“I catch Aumari and hold her up and also catch the baby at the same time,” Smoot told Good Morning America. “Everything that was going through my mind was just make sure everybody’s ok.”

Thankfully for the Smoots, things went relatively smoothly from there, and Ahlani Moon Smoot was born at their home.

“She just took a big breath and she started crying, and we were like, ‘Ok, that’s great. We’re good,'” Smoot said.

The work wasn’t done there, though. Smoot called 911, and the paramedics talked him through the steps from there, including tying the umbilical cord.

“The paramedics are telling me, ‘Grab a shoestring,’ I’m like, ‘What do we need a shoestring for?'” he said. “They’re like, ‘You’ve got to clamp the umbilical cord,’ so I’m going, grabbing my shoes, I’ve never ripped out shoestrings faster in my life.”

Smoot is already having a breakout season with the Jags, earning three starts along the defensive line in the process. Now, he’s proven that he has what it takes to handle high-pressure situations, as well.

Harold Varner III announces birth of son Liam, aka HV4

Welcome to the world, HV4.

Harold Varner III didn’t do much to practice being a new father.

At last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship he admitted to not reading one baby book and laughed at the idea of practicing how to change a diaper on a baby doll.

“No,” he said after the second round at Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi. “Hell, no. Who practices that?”

Varner said he was excited at the chance to become a father and provide for his family and on Sunday morning he took to Twitter to announce that his wife, Amanda, had given birth to their first child, Liam, aka HV4.

The 31-year-old has been riding an impressive run of form over the last three months, earning six top-20 finishes over his last eight starts, including a T-16 (Fortinet Championship) and T-11 (Sanderson Farms Championship) to start the new PGA Tour season. Despite the new member of the family, Varner previously said he still planned to play next week at the CJ Cup at The Summit Club in Las Vegas and then at the Zozo Championship, Oct. 21-24, at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Japan.

“I’m not taking any time off. That kid’s got to eat. That formula isn’t cheap,” said Varner at the Sanderson. “But at the end of the day that kid’s not cheap and I still love playing golf and my wife’s not working. So it’s this thing called being a father, provide, you figure it out. And I’m super excited about it.”
