Former Washington Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested on Tuesday in South Carolina for multiple charges that stemmed from a traffic stop in South Carolina, according to NFL.com.

Grant Gordon reports that the Kansas City Chiefs cornerback, who is 28-years-old, faces charges of resisting arrest, having alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken, having an open container of beer or wine in a motor vehicle, possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana or 10 grams of hash and driving without a license.

According to Gordon, the Chiefs have said that they are aware of the situation, but have no further comment.

Breeland was a free agent target for the Redskins this offseason after winning a Super Bowl with Kansas City earlier this year, but he decided to sign a one-year deal with the Chiefs rather than come back to Washington, where he played the first four years of his career.

Alton Robinson newest Seahawk who must prove he’s overcome adversity

Alton Robinson, a Seahawks 2020 NFL draft pick, is getting another shot after nearly losing his college career due to a robbery charge.

Defensive end Alton Robinson’s college football career nearly ended before it even began. Just two weeks after he committed to Texas A&M he was charged with second-degree robbery over an alleged struggle with his girlfriend and the theft of her purse and cell phone.

His legal woes ultimately led to his scholarship at Texas A&M being rescinded and he eventually made his way to Syracuse University. All charges were later dropped, but Robinson was left with a tarnished reputation.

He now joins a fairly lengthy list of Seahawks players who have been given another shot despite questionable histories. Seattle selected Robinson in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft at No. 148 overall to aid with the pass rush.

Robinson was forthright when asked about the criminal allegations by the Seattle media during his post-draft Zoom conference.

“Basically, I was immature at the time,” Robinson explained. “Me and my girlfriend at the time, we were in a relationship that was very immature. The situation, I’m sure you can find it, it was very embarrassing. I embarrassed myself, and my high school, my family and everything like that. I definitely learned from it.

“I’m looking forward to being a Seahawk, and I can’t wait to get up to Seattle.”

Robinson has a clean slate in the Emerald City and everything in the world to prove to Pete Carroll, John Schneider and everyone else who has been willing to give him a second chance.

Cowboys WR Ventell Bryant arrested on DUI charge in Florida

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ventell Bryant arrested for driving under the influence in Tampa on Wednesday.

There’s a Dallas Cowboys wide receiver making headlines, but unfortunately it’s for the wrong reasons. 23-year-old Ventell Bryant was charged with driving under the influence on Wednesday morning. The incident took place in his hometown of Tampa, Florida when he was pulled over for driving without his headlights.

With a new coaching staff in town, any lapse in judgment is the kind of thing that a player on the roster bubble simply can’t afford to make.

From The Athletic’s Greg Auman:

The arresting officer noted that Bryant was slow to stop, and after being stopped, “exhibited several clues of impairment, to include bloodshot and glassy eyes, slurred speech, an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.” The arrest report says he “admitted to consuming several margaritas” before submitting to a breath test, which eventually showed a blood-alcohol level of .102 and .099…

Bryant played in 12 games for the Cowboys in 2019, and was primarily used on special teams, appearing in 45% of those snaps. He did catch one pass for a touchdown in the Thanksgiving day loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Bryant is under contract for the 2020 season, but does not have any guaranteed money in his deal, meaning a release would result in no dead money on the Dallas cap.
