The Navy Midshipmen (8-3) and Army Black Knights (11-1) meet on the gridiron for the 125th time when they clash Saturday in Landover, Md. The opening kickoff at Northwest Stadium will be at 3 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Navy vs. Army odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Navy, which has lost back-to-back games in this series, has had some offensive struggles over the back half of the season, but the Midshipmen head into this game off a 34-20 win over the East Carolina Pirates on Nov. 29, an against-the-spread (ATS) victory as +3 underdogs. Navy was a minus-2 in turnovers when it outgained Army 309 yards to 259 in a 17-11 loss in last year’s game.

Army, which is No. 18 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, suffered its only loss in a Nov. 23 contest vs. the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Since then, the Black Knights have 2 wins, the last of those a 35-14 win as a 5-point underdog vs. the Tulane Green Wave in the Dec. 6 American Athletic Conference title game. QB Bryson Daily ran in 4 scores in that game and has 29 rushing TDs this season.

Navy leads the all-time series with Army 62-55-7, including a 1-0 record in the only game previously played in Northwest Stadium (2011). Since breaking a 13-game losing streak to Navy in 2015, Army has won 6 of the last 8 meetings.

Navy vs. Army picks and predictions

Prediction

Army 28, Navy 24

Moneyline

No interest: PASS.

Against the spread

Against the number, Army is 2-4 over its last 6 games.

Advanced analytics would point to the Black Knights’ 15.0 points per game as not being fully supportable. Some balance in success rate and explosiveness is in the Navy arsenal, and the value money is on the Midshipmen keeping this contest within 1 score.

Eight of the last 10 Army-Navy games have been 1-score triumphs. Consider a partial-unit play on NAVY +6.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The strongest play in this matchup involves betting the total. Both offenses excel in the red zone, cranking out 6s and not often settling for field goals. Both offenses do register slow pace numbers, but look for some strategic hurry-up at times and for the defenses to spend plenty of time in their own ends.

On a good-weather day in the Washington, D.C. area, expect more point spiral here than what this series has historically cranked out. TAKE THE OVER 39.5 (-110).

AAC Championship Game: Tulane at Army odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Tulane at Army odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Tulane Green Wave (9-3, 7-1 AAC) and No. 23 Army Black Knights (10-1, 8-0) meet Friday for the AAC Championship Game. Kickoff from Michie Stadium in West Point, New York, is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Tulane vs. Army odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Tulane suffered a 34-24 home loss as a 12.5-point favorite against Memphis on Thanksgiving as the Over (54) cashed. The setback snapped an 8-game win streak, but it didn’t cost the Green Wave a trip to the AAC title game, since they finished second in the conference. The non-cover halted a 4-0 against the spread (ATS) run for Tulane, which is 9-3 ATS overall.

Army, which didn’t face Tulane in the regular season, ran the table in the AAC to make it to the league championship in their first season in the conference. The Black Knights’ lone loss came in a 49-14 defeat as 14-point underdogs to then-No. 6, now-No. 4 Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium Nov. 23, but that was a non-conference tilt. Still, Army is just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games, while the Under is on a 3-1 run.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Tulane at Army picks and predictions

Prediction

Army 23, Tulane 20

Moneyline

ARMY (+170) is a solid play at plus-money as the Black Knights have run the table in the AAC. They didn’t face the Green Wave in the regular season.

Tulane (-210) is not only coming off a loss to Memphis at home, but the Green Wave are also going up north to play in temperatures in the high 20’s with no precipitation and light wind — not the type of weather they are accustomed to. It should be a shock to the system for most of the Green Wave players experiencing their coldest temperatures of the season.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread

Back Army +4.5 (-105) if you don’t want to play the +170 moneyline and prefer the insurance of the 4½ points.

Again, the cold temperatures will do Tulane no favors. The Green Wave rank 34th against the rush, allowing just 123.5 yards per game (per NCAA.com), so that is a concern with the Black Knights. But,the fact this game is at home, and it is being played in subfreezing temperatures benefits Army.

Over/Under

UNDER 45.5 (-110) is a low number, but we have 2 teams with very strong rushing games. Running the ball runs the clock, which Under bettors certainly appreciate.

Army ranks first in the country in offensive rushing yards per game (312.5 ypg), while Tulane is 12th (212.9 ypg).

The Under has cashed in the past 2 road games for Tulane, too, while the Under is 3-1 in the past 4 home outings for Army.

Alex’s best bet: UTSA at Army prediction

SportsbookWire.com’s Alex White likes a side in Saturday’s college football game between UTSA and Army.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

SportsbookWire.com’s Alex White heads into the final full weekend of the college football regular-season with a 9-3 record for her best bets.

After looking at Saturday’s slate, Alex sees an opportunity to cash winning tickets on an American Athletic Conference matchup in West Point when the UTSA Roadrunners (6-5, 4-3 AAC) visit the first-place Army Black Knights (9-1, 7-0). Kickoff from Michie Stadium is set for noon ET and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.

As of Friday at 10:53 p.m. ET, BetMGM Sportsbook lists Army as a 6.5-point favorite — the Black Knights were -7 earlier in the day.

UTSA enters on a 3-game win streak, covering the spread in each victory. The Roadrunners are 4-1 straight up and 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 5 games. For the season, they’re 5-6 ATS.

Army, which already clinched a spot in the AAC Championship Game, suffered its first loss of the season a week ago — 49-14 at No. 5 Notre Dame. The Black Knights are 7-3 ATS this season. (Rankings: US LBM Coaches Poll)

Army won last season’s meeting 37-29 in San Antonio as a 7-point underdog.

UTSA at Army picks and predictions

Prediction

Army 31, UTSA 28

Moneyline

PASS.

There is minimal value on Army (-250) to win Saturday.

Against the spread

LEAN UTSA +6.5 (-110).

UTSA has covered the spread in 4 of its last 5 games, scoring 38 or more points in each outing. It faces an Army squad that has failed to cover 3 of its last 4 games while scoring 20 or fewer points in 3 straight. In a game featuring 2 teams that can score in droves, expect the Roadrunners to stick around.

Over/Under

BET OVER 54.5 (-110).

UTSA has scored 44 or more points in 3 straight games and 27 or more in 7 of its last 8. It has hit the Over in 8 of its last 10 games.

Army at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Army at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 17 Army Black Knights (9-0) meet the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (9-1) on Saturday at Yankee Stadium in one of the most anticipated college football games this November. Kickoff for this neutral-site matchup from the Bronx, N.Y., is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (NBC/Peacock). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Army vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

This showdown of top-20 teams will prove crucial in determining College Football Playoff seeding and qualifications.

Notre Dame is rolling on an 8-game win streak following its 35-14 win over the Virginia Cavaliers last Saturday. Army comes off a bye week that followed a nail-biter 14-3 win over the North Texas Mean Green on Nov. 8.

Both teams have plowed their way to their successful seasons through the ground game, led by quarterbacks who can adepty use their legs.

Under the guidance of QB Bryson Daily, Army’s triple-option focus has propelled them to the top of the national rushing yardage rankings (334.9 per game). Daily himself ranks tied for second nationally with 21 rushing scores and 13th with 1,062 rushing yards.

While having more offensive power through the air, Notre Dame leans heavily on its trifecta of QB Riley Leonard (13 rushing TDs) and running back Jeremiyah Love (12 TDs) and Jadarian Price (7.3 yards per carry).

This matchup makes things fun: Army also boasts the third-best rushing defense in the country (82.6 yards allowed per game).

  • Over/Under (O/U): 45.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Army at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 24, Army 17

Moneyline

Notre Dame has had to endure defensive injuries to key players, including top NFL Draft prospect CB Benjamin Morrison. However, Al Golden’s defensive scheme slots among the country’s best, ranking third in points allowed (11.4) and sixth in total yardage allowed (277.1) per game.

Ten of coach Marcus Freeman‘s 28 victories with the Irish have come against ranked teams.

Daily will test the Irish, but the Irish will control the line of scrimmage on the defensive side more effectively with more pressure.

However, I’m going to avoid the lopsided — and overvalued — juice that comes with betting ND straight-up. The books are mispricing the disparity.

Irish bettors should find other ways to back a victory with a wager.

PASS.

Against the spread

The spread experienced a giant drop on Monday alone (+17.5 to +14) but has stayed relatively close since, merely adding the hook in Army’s favor.

Notre Dame has the better talent among receiving corps, but the Black Knights’ time of possession strategy and elite ground game will help keep this game close.

This approach has helped Army lead college football with a 7-1-1 ATS record. (Though ND is not far behind at 7-2-1).

Still, the likely pace should prompt diligent bettors to tease Army’s line down if they have the sprinkle bets to spare.

BET ARMY +14.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Even with their run-heavy styles, Notre Dame (0.577 points per play, sixth) and Army (0.558, eighth) rank among the most efficient offenses in the country. The stats tempt the public to bet the Over.

However, bettors should side with the likely gradual pace from both sides that will help both teams fall short of the total by a few points.

BET UNDER 45.5 (-110).

Army at North Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Army at North Texas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Army Black Knights (8-0) ride a 12-game win streak into their showdown Saturday with the North Texas Mean Green (5-3). Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Army vs. North Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Army, who ranks No. 18 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, has not trailed during their undefeated run and boasts a top-five overall defense in the top division of college football.

However, quarterback Bryson Daily (undisclosed injury/illness) was listed as questionable after missing the Knights’ 20-3 steamrolling over Air Force last weekend. However, he will return Saturday.

North Texas won’t roll over, though, and presents a tough Conference USA hurdle before Army’s potentially marquee clash with Notre Dame. Quarterback Chandler Morris leads the FBS in passing yards per game (359.1) while tying for second with 29 passing touchdowns.

Army at North Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Army 36, North Texas 31

Moneyline

Army’s ML has risen to -225 with the news that Daily will be in there. Due to such, their side is unplayable at this number. We liked Army before the news of their quarterback’s return, but there is far too much juice to take a stand on.

PASS.

Against the spread

The spread has dipped to 3 but jumped up to 6 with Daily’s return.

Army has aced spreads this year at 6-1-1. North Texas squares out at 4-4.

Unfortunately, the spread movement negated any value that could be extracted for a close North Texas effort.

I would ignore the spread at 6 points both ways. I might consider it if North Texas gets more than a touchdown.

PASS.

Over/Under

The strongest wager of the main categories will be the total.

North Texas’ offensive power ranks them second in the FCS with a 7-1-0 record on the Over/Under. Army remains no slouch at 5-3.

The triple option should carry Army on its own end regardless of who’s under center. Buck the market trend and bank on the points with the better side of the O/U vig.

Army at Duke picks and predictions

Prediction

Duke 89, Army 53

Moneyline

PASS.

Duke is such a heavy favorite on Friday that the moneyline is off the board. And ignore one if it appears.

Against the spread

LEAN DUKE -33.5 (-110).

While Duke is such a heavy favorite, it displayed its ability in its season opener with a 34-point cover win over Maine that involved multiple players getting involved on both ends of the court. Army had just 3 players in double-digits and struggled against Albany, a far lesser opponent than Duke will prove to be.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 142.5 (-110).

Army went way Under 142.5 in its first game, scoring 67 and limiting Albany to 59 at home. It will not have the same success defensively on Friday and it will struggle to keep up offensively, which will be the reason the Under hits. Duke held Maine to just 62 points in its opener.

East Carolina at Army odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s East Carolina at Army odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The East Carolina Pirates (3-3, 1-1 AAC) meet the 24th-ranked Army Black Knights (6-0, 5-0) Saturday at Michie Stadium in West Point. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the East Carolina vs. Army odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Pirates were given no quarter in Charlotte last week, falling 55-24 as 9.5-point favorites. East Carolina is now just 1-3 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in the past 4 games after a 2-0 SU/ATS start against Tidewater schools Norfolk State and Old Dominion.

The Black Knights returned to the rankings this season, and this Army team continues to roll up big numbers. It has scored 37 or more points in 5 of 6 games while going a perfect 6-0 ATS this season. The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 outings, just missing by 1 point in a 44-10 win against UAB last week.

Army has posted 462.3 total yards per game, good for 18th in the nation, while it leads the country with 369.8 rushing yards per game. Army is posting 39.7 PPG, too.

On defense, Army has allowed just 267.3 total yards per game (10th in the nation), and it has given up just 78.3 rushing yards (4th) and 9.8 PPG (2nd).

East Carolina at Army picks and predictions

Prediction

Army 45, East Carolina 24

Moneyline

There is no way to justify backing Army (-900) either straight up or as part of a parlay. Risking 9 times your potential return, no matter how certain a victory looks, is never a good idea.

PASS, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

Back ARMY -17 (-115) at home, as the Black Knights pile up the yardage. QB Bryson Daily leads the team with 738 rushing yards and 14 TDs, averaging 6.9 yards per game, while throwing for 482 yards, 6 TDs and 0 INTs. For RB Kanye Udoh, he has 531 rushing yards (7.2 per attempt) and 7 TDs, while RB Noah Short has 397 rushing yards and 2 TDs with a ridiculous 12.4 YPC.

While East Carolina +17 (-105) allows 148.5 rushing yards per game, which is middle of the road, it was gouged for 311 yards on the ground at Charlotte. That’s an ominous sign heading up to face a white-hot Army side.

Over/Under

OVER 52.5 (-110) is a strong play, and Army might do quite a bit of heavy lifting here.

East Carolina has posted 26.5 PPG, and it has 260.0 passing yards per game. Since it is expected to be playing from behind, those passing numbers will likely continue as we see some Pirates points in the 2nd half after the game has already been decided.

Army has cashed high in 3 of the past 4 games, going for 42 or more points in 3 in a row.

Army at Temple odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Army at Temple odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Army Black Knights (3-0, 2-0 AAC) travel to meet the Temple Owls (1-3, 0-1) Thursday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Army vs. Temple odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Black Knights are off and running, literally, in the AAC so far. Army is unbeaten in 3 games, including 2 inside the conference. Army is averaging 429.7 total yards of offense per game, with a majority of that coming on the ground. It ranks 2nd in the nation with 356.0 rushing yards per game.

Army won 24-7 at FAU in the AAC opener as a 1-point underdog, while pounding Rice 37-14 last weekend at Michie Stadium in West Point as a 7.5-point favorite. The defense has allowed just 28 points in 3 games, too.

Temple picked up an impressive 45-29 win over Utah State last weekend in Philly, winning outright as a 6.5-point underdog. That comes on the heels of a solid 28-20 loss as a 17-point ‘dog on Sept. 14, also at home.

The defense has been shredded for 28 or more points in all 4 games, however. Temple is especially susceptible to the run, giving up 221.8 yards per game, which ranks 126th in FBS. That’s ominous with Army coming to town.

Army at Temple picks and predictions

Prediction

Army 35, Temple 17

Moneyline

Army (-550) will set you back 5 1/2 times your potential return, and there is no way you can bet such a heavy favorite. Over the long term, that’s a losing betting strategy. You would need to wager $10 for every $1.82 of profit. That’s just too risky.

PASS, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

ARMY -13.5 (-110) is a strong play on the road. It’s a short trip for the Black Knights from Army to Philadelphia, and they’re used to this venue since it often plays Navy in the annual end-of-season game.

The Black Knights are a running machine, and so far neither FAU or Rice offered much resistance inside the AAC. In a crazy schedule quirk, this will be the 3rd consecutive game for Army against a team nicknamed the Owls.

Temple +13.5 (-110) is terrible against the run, and it will have tremendous difficulty shutting down the power triple-option attack of the Black Knights.

Over/Under

OVER 45.5 (-110) is the play, which is a departure from the norm.

When you have a running team like Army, the conventional wisdom is to go low on the total. A team that is primary ground-based keeps the clock moving. But, Army has scored 37 or more points in 2 of 3 games to date, and the Over is 2-1 on the season. Only FAU had any modicum of success stopping the run when it mattered in the red zone.

Temple has split 2-2 on the Over-Under. The Over hit last week, as the Owls exploded for 45 points against Utah State. The thinking of an Over play, though, is based on Temple’s inability to stop anybody. It has allowed 28 or more points in all 4 games this season.

Army at LSU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Army at LSU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Army Black Knights (2-4) visit the LSU Tigers (5-2) Saturday. Kickoff from Tiger Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Army vs. LSU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Army lost 19-0 to the Troy Trojans last Saturday en route to a 3-game losing skid, failing to cover as a 6.5-point home underdog. QB Bryson Daily has completed 42 of his 77 passes for 712 yards, 6 TDs, and 4 INTs while also leading the team in rushing. Daily has totaled 412 rushing yards and 3 TDs on 100 carries. The Black Knights struggle to generate offense through the passing game, generating 143.5 yards per game, while the run game generates 196 YPG.

LSU has won back-to-back games vs. SEC opponents. The most recent of which came Saturday in a 48-18 home win vs. the Auburn Tigers, covering as an 11.5-point favorite. QB Jayden Daniels has completed 152 of his 208 passes for 2294 yards, 22 TDs, and 3 INTs. The Tigers have a very explosive offense that averages 550.4 yards per game, but their defense that allows 423.9 yards per game is vulnerable.

LSU is No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Army at LSU picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 31, Army 14

Moneyline

PASS.

LSU will pick up the win here, but a -8000 favorite is never worth the risk of betting on. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET ARMY +31.5 (-104).

The Tigers have not beaten an opponent by 30 or more points since their 72-10 Week 2 victory vs. the Grambling Tigers. Similarly, Army has not lost a game by more than 19 points this season. Army does face its toughest test vs. this LSU squad, but LSU’s weakness defensively will help Army keep this one within 31.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 58.5 (-105).

Both LSU and Army struggle defensively, but I don’t expect Army’s offense to generate enough points to help this game hit the Over number of 57.5. LSU’s main defensive weakness lies in the passing game, but Army does not have a good enough passing attack to exploit that weakness. I do expect Daily to have a solid outing, especially on the ground, but I don’t see Army putting up more than 17.
