Los Angeles Kings at Arizona Coyotes odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Los Angeles Kings at Arizona Coyotes sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Los Angeles Kings (18-28-5) pay a visit to Glendale to square off against the Arizona Coyotes (26-21-5) Thursday at 9:30 p.m. ET in a Pacific Division tussle at Gila River Arena. We analyze the Kings-Coyotes odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips around this matchup.

Kings at Coyotes: Projected starting goalies

Jack Campbell vs. Adin Hill

Campbell has logged a 2.89 goals against average and a .899 save percentage through 19 games. Goaltenders will often regress to an .870 SV% in short-handed situations, but Campbell heads into the second half with an .810 mark in that department. The Kings rank second in the league in preventing shots on goal (28.8 per game).

Hill has appeared in nine games, registering a 2.40 GAA and .920 SV% in what marks his third NHL season with at least four starts. The 23-year-old owns a .905 SV% over 26 career games (20 starts). He stopped 25 of 26 shots in a start against LA last season. He has been up from the minors to spell Darcy Kuemper (lower body) who continues to be listed as day-to-day.

Kings at Arizona Coyotes: Odds, picks and betting tips

Odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list.
Odds last updated at 3:15 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Arizona 4, Los Angeles 3

Moneyline (ML)

Arizona lost its first game back from the all-star break and has lost three in a row dating back to Jan. 16. The Coyotes are just 1-6 over their last seven games. Los Angeles has lost five straight and eight of its last nine.

The Kings are the lean but will remain just that at the moneyline price of +145. Closer to a +160 figure would be needed to initiate a play with enough value baked in.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

‘Yotes bettors haven’t cashed a heavy-favorite ticket on Arizona (-1.5, +155) since mid-December. The Kings (+1.5, -189) have won just two road games over roughly that same span of time.

We’ll PASS on the puck line, as well.

Over/Under (O/U)

Both teams have trended toward the Over in recent weeks. The Over is 12-2 in the Coyotes’ last 14 games as a favorite, 4-0 in Arizona’s last four home games and 6-2-1 over the Kings’ last nine games on zero days’ rest (both teams played Wednesday). The Over is a combined 12-6 when the Kings or Coyotes are playing their second game in as many days.

Los Angeles has outshot foes in each contest amid its five-game losing streak. Puck possession analytics indicate upside to the Kings’ offense, and the goaltending matchup makes for an Over lean as well.

Back the OVER 5.5 (+110).

Pittsburgh Penguins at Arizona Coyotes odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Pittsburgh Penguins at Arizona Coyotes sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (27-12-5) meet the Arizona Coyotes (25-18-4) in an interconference battle of second-place teams at Gila River Arena Sunday for a 6 p.m. ET puck drop. We analyze the Penguins-Coyotes odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips around this matchup.

Penguins at Coyotes: Projected starting goalies

Tristan Jarry vs. Adin Hill

Jarry owns a 2.04 goals against average and .934 save percentage through 21 games (19 starts). None of his peripheral splits or analytics are so out of whack as to make him a “playing over his head” fade candidate. Jarry has logged a .918 SV% over his last five starts, and that stretch includes games against the Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers, a couple of teams that score way more than Arizona’s 2.7 goals per game. He’s been solid over recent road turns.

Hill owns a 2.43 GAA and .925 SV% through five games (two starts). The 22-game NHL veteran will be tested in this home start. The Pens have averaged 3.4 GPG this season to rank seventh in the NHL; they’ve averaged 4.1 goals over their last 11 games.

Prediction

Pittsburgh 4, Arizona 2

Moneyline (ML)

Pittsburgh has fared well in closing out the final game of their longer road trips. Sunday’s game in Arizona marks the end of a trip that started with games at the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche. Both Pittsburgh and Arizona are coming off one day of rest; the Penguins have fared better than the ‘Yotes in such situations. Arizona is 4-5 with shaky puck-possession indicators over its last nine games. The Coyotes are returning home after a three-game trip in the Southeast (Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes). Arizona went 1-2 over those three games and was shut out against both the Lightning and Hurricanes. The ‘Yotes are 2-4 in their first home game after multi-game road trips.

The puck line (below) is a solid play, but consider backing it up with PITTSBURGH (-133) as insurance.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on Pittsburgh to win outright would return a profit of $7.50.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Penguins have a solid 13-7 mark against the PL. Arizona’s record is flimsy compared to goals for and against and then compared to underlying stats results. Add in recent results and peripherals and the contest in net and PITTSBURGH (-1.5, +220) is a play worth leveraging (perhaps alongside a moneyline play as a hedge against a one-goal game).

Over/Under (O/U)

A tip of the cap to the number and the bettors on both sides. The projected total is set at 5.5 (Over: +100, Under: -121). PASS.

Arizona Coyotes at Carolina Hurricanes odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Friday’s Arizona Coyotes at Carolina Hurricanes sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Arizona Coyotes (25-17-4) visit the Carolina Hurricanes (25-16-2) at PNC Arena Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. We analyze the Coyotes-Hurricanes sports betting odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips around this matchup.

Coyotes at Hurricanes: Projected starting goalies

Antti Raanta vs. Petr Mrazek

Raanta has been out sick this week but will return to guard Arizona twine in Friday’s game at Carolina. The veteran owns a 2.66 goals against average and .921 save percentage in 20 appearances this season. Raanta last played Saturday, when he stopped all 17 shots he faced in a 40-minute stint against the Philadelphia Flyers. He’s won just once on the road since Nov. 11.

Mrazek owns a 2.74 GAA and .901 SV% through 27 starts and one relief appearance. Both he and backup James Reimer have scuffled lately – the Hurricanes have yielded 4.1 goals per game over their last eight contests. But the ‘Canes have also been undone quite a bit when shorthanded of late.

Prediction

Hurricanes 4, Coyotes 2

Moneyline (ML)

The lean is toward the HURRICANES (-176) side in this one. Analytics underpinning goal-scoring numbers on both sides, show some give –with a fade on the Coyotes’ (+145) side and a play on the Hurricanes. Arizona’s recent puck-possession stats – even throughout winning four of their last five games – serve as confirmation of that fade.

Still, it comes down to price, and thus far the market has tamped down an original number of -179. Something higher than -173 would offer enough cushion. If the price remains low, the puck line may turn out to be the better play for this one.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

CAROLINA -1.5 (+155) is a strong play to win by 2 or more goals in this matchup. The Hurricanes are the more talented team … playing at home … against an Arizona club playing the back half of two games in two days. The ‘Canes have won 16 games by multiple goals – seven of those have come in the last month. When playing on two days of rest, Carolina is 9-4 with a healthy margin in goal-scoring. The ‘Yotes are 2-4 – and are outscored 3.1 to 2.4 on average – when playing the back half of a double.

Over/Under (O/U)

Friday’s game in Raleigh draws a projected total of 5.5. The recent goalie numbers all around make for a bigger number. Take the OVER 5.5 (-134).

Philadelphia Flyers at Arizona Coyotes odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Philadelphia Flyers at Arizona Coyotes sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Philadelphia Flyers (22-14-5) visit the Arizona Coyotes (23-16-4) Saturday at Gila River Arena for an 8 p.m. ET puck drop. We analyze the Flyers-Coyotes sports betting odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips and picks around this matchup.

Flyers at Coyotes: Projected starting goalies

Carter Hart vs. Antti Raanta

Hart enters off of back-to-back losses in which he stopped 51 of 62 shots on goal, though he did stop 13 of 14 shots in relief of Brian Elliott against the Los Angeles Kings in between those two starts. He is now 13-9-3 on the season with a .908 save percentage and 2.52 goals against average.

Raanta won each of his last two starts, allowing three total goals on 67 shots. He is 8-8-2 on the season with a .918 SV% and 2.76 GAA. He has been best at home with a .921 SV% and 2.51 GAA.

Prediction

Flyers 5, Coyotes 2

Moneyline (ML)

The FLYERS (+115) have lost back-to-back games, including a 5-4 loss against the Vegas Golden Knights Thursday, and are just 1-3 to start their road trip. They’re 5-5 across their last 10 games and 9-12-1 on the road for the season. The Coyotes (-139) are 10-10-1 at home and 5-5 across their last 10 games, but have won back-to-back games coming into Saturday, including a 4-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks Thursday. They beat the Flyers 3-1 in Philly Dec. 5.

The Flyers have distinct advantages in both Corsi (percentage of total shot attempts) and scoring chances at 5-on-5. Expect a better performance from Hart and take the value with the visitors.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Flyers to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout returns a profit of $11.50.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Back the FLYERS (-1.5, +310) on the alternate spread. A win by 2 or more goals will return a profit better than three times your investment. Philly is 21-20 against the spread overall but 9-13 at home, while ‘Zona is 26-17 ATS overall but just 10-11 at home.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 5.5 (-106). Both goalies are prone to blow-ups and there’s plenty of offensive firepower on either side. Philly is 6-3-1 against the Over/Under across its last 10 games. Arizona is 5-5.

Arizona Coyotes at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Arizona Coyotes at Vegas Golden Knights sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Arizona Coyotes (21-14-4) and Vegas Golden Knights (20-15-6) do battle at T-Mobile Arena at 10 p.m. ET Saturday. We analyze the Coyotes-Golden Knights sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Coyotes at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies

Antti Raanta vs. Marc-Andre Fleury

Raanta puts his 6-6-2 record, 2.70 goals against average and .921 save percentage on the line in Vegas. He is back as a No. 1 backstop with Darcy Kuemper on the shelf due to injury.

Malcolm Subban made the start Friday night, so Flower gets the call in the second end of the back-to-back. Fleury is 14-8-3 with a 2.81 GAA and .910 save percentage with two shutouts so far this season.

Odds courtesy of BetMGM; access them at USA TODAY Sports for a full set of today’s betting odds. Odds last updated at 12 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Coyotes 2, Golden Knights 1

Moneyline (ML)

The COYOTES (+110) are a nice value on the road, where they have actually been way better than in their own home barn. They’re 13-5-3 on the road, whereas the Golden Knights (-133) are just 10-7-3 at home. Take the visitors.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

AVOID. Neither of these teams are going to win in a landslide. It will be a low-scoring defensive slog with plenty of goaltending. Avoid the puck line.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 5.5 (+100) has connected in eight of the past 11 for Arizona on the road, while going 11-5 in the past 16 against the Pacific Division. VGK has hit the Under in eight of the past 10 at home, and 10-4 in their past 14 as a favorite.

Arizona Coyotes at Detroit Red Wings odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Arizona Coyotes at Detroit Red Wings sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Arizona Coyotes (20-13-4) visit the Detroit Red Wings (9-25-3) at Little Caesar’s Arena Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. We analyze the Coyotes-Red Wings odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips around this matchup.

Coyotes at Red Wings: Projected starting goalies

Antti Raanta vs. Jimmy Howard

Raanta owns a 2.72 goals against average and .919 save percentage over 13 outings (12 starts). The veteran netminder has been consistent and solid, but unspectacular on the road. His even-strength SV% is .939, and he has a history of getting better as the season wears on.

Howard has struggled his way to a 3.94 GAA and .887 SV% for a Red Wings club which ranks 31st in goals allowed per game (3.89). Howard has been on a conditioning stint in the AHL while recovering from a groin injury which has kept him out of action since November 27.

Prediction

Arizona 4, Detroit 2

Moneyline (ML)

Take advantage of your fellow bettors’ unwillingness to go deep into 200-level prices, even when 300-something is warranted. A play on ARIZONA (-250) bakes in plenty of value.

The ‘Yotes went 3-1 on their last multi-game road trip, and the team is 7-3 over its last 10 away from the desert. Recent missteps (3-4 record since Dec. 6) are not backed up by puck possession analytics. Arizona does a fine job getting to the gritty, high-percentage area of the slot, and that game-systemic advantage hasn’t made its way into recent box scores.

Arizona has the fewest penalty minutes in the NHL, and it’s a factor mitigating recent gains made by the Detroit power play (7 for their last 23). This is a Red Wings club all-too-routinely posting sub-40% Corsi shares while going 2-13-2 over its last 17 games.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Arizona is 14-5 against the puck line on the road. Detroit is 6-13 against the half-number when skating at home. The Wings’ last 11 losses have all been by multiple scores. The ‘Yotes are on the front end of a road trip, with plenty of standings incentive for wanting to game-control whatever sheet of ice they’re on.

Back ARIZONA (-1.5, +115) to win by at least 2 goals on a smaller, complement play to the moneyline.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Coyotes to win by at least 2 goals returns a profit of $11.50. The same wager on the moneyline returns $4 in profit.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS on the projected total of 5.5 (Over: -115, Under: -106). The Howard return and health status plays more here than in the sides.

Minnesota Wild at Arizona Coyotes odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Minnesota Wild at Arizona Coyotes sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Minnesota Wild (16-14-5) and Arizona Coyotes (20-12-4) do battle at Gila River Arena at 9:30 p.m. ET Thursday. We analyze the Wild-Coyotes sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Wild at Coyotes: Projected starting goalies

Devan Dubnyk vs. Darcy Kuemper

Dubnyk has won just two of his past seven appearances, and those two victories came against the Coyotes. He allowed three goals on 35 shots in a win in Arizona Nov. 9, and just two goals on 29 shots in a win against the Coyotes on Nov. 14.

Kuemper is 15-7-2 with a .935 save percentage and 1.97 goals against average. He got the win in four of his last five outings while allowing a total of just 10 goals over those five starts.

Wild at Coyotes: Odds, picks and betting tips

Odds courtesy of BetMGM; access them at USA TODAY Sports for a full set of today’s betting odds. Odds last updated at 8:25 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Coyotes 4, Wild 2

Moneyline (ML)

The COYOTES (-149) have won the past two this season against the Wild, who normally dominate this series. Minnesota is 13-6 in the previous 19 meetings overall, including 8-3 in the past 11 trips to Glendale. However, look for the Coyotes to be jacked up with LW Taylor Hall making his home debut. It should be a successful night in the desert for the home side.

New to sports betting? Every $10 wagered for the Coyotes to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout would profit $6.70 if they do so.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The COYOTES (-1.5, +185) on the puck line are a gamble, no doubt, as they’re just .500 at home this season. They’re actually a much better team on the road. But the Coyotes added Hall and will be skating with a lot of extra jump, as they look to hang onto the Pacific Division lead.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 5.5 (+110) is not a slam-dunk play, but it is 5-1 in the past six games at home and 5-2 as a favorite for Arizona. The Over is also 3-1-1 in Minnesota’s past five against teams with a winning record.

Arizona Coyotes at Chicago Blackhawks odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Arizona Coyotes at Chicago Blackhawks sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips

The Arizona Coyotes (17-10-4) and Chicago Blackhawks (12-12-5) tangle at United Center on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. We analyze the Coyotes-Blackhawks sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Coyotes at Blackhawks: Projected starting goalies

Darcy Kuemper vs. Robin Lehner

Kuemper is 12-6-2 with a 1.92 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. Kuemper is on a two-game win streak, stopping 61 of 64 shots in road wins at the Philadelphia Flyers (Thursday) and the Columbus Blue Jackets (Tuesday).

Lehner is 6-5-3 with a 2.71 GAA and a .929 SV%. Corey Crawford’s backup snapped a three-game personal skid by stopping 37 of 40 shots in a 3-2 OT win at the Boston Bruins Thursday.

Coyotes at Blackhawks: Odds, picks and betting tips

Odds courtesy of BetMGM; access them at USA TODAY Sports for a full set of today’s betting odds. Odds last updated at 1:35 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Blackhawks 3, Coyotes 2

Moneyline (ML)

The BLACKHAWKS (-115) are the play here, even though the Coyotes (-106) have been the better team overall this season as they jockey for position atop the Pacific Division with the Edmonton Oilers. Arizona is playing the third game in four days, and it’s 0-4 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. The Coyotes should have heavy legs in this one. Plus, ‘Zona is 3-10 in the past 13 meetings and 1-5 in the past six trips to the Windy City.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

This should be a tight game, and if Chicago comes away with the win, it will likely be in overtime or a shootout. The BLACKHAWKS are worth a small-unit play at -1.5, +225, however, as that’s a really nice value for a home team.

New to sports betting? Every $1 wagered that the Blackhawks win by 2 goals or more would profit $2.25 if they do so.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 5.5 (-115) has been the dominant trend. The Under is 19-7-1 in Arizona’s past 27 on the road, and 9-4 in the past 13 overall. The Under is 5-1 in Chicago’s past six at home, and 7-3 in the past 10 overall.

Every $1.15 wagered that the combined goals scored are 5 or less would profit $1 if the Under hits.

Arizona Coyotes at Pittsburgh Penguins odds, picks and best bets

Analyzing the Arizona Coyotes at Pittsburgh Penguins Friday NHL matchup, with NHL betting odds, picks and best bets

The Arizona Coyotes (17-9-4) visit the Pittsburgh Penguins (15-9-4) at Nationwide Arena Friday at 7 p.m. ET. We analyze the Coyotes-Penguins odds and lines while providing NHL betting tips around this matchup.

Coyotes at Penguins: Projected starting goalies

Antti Raanta vs. Matt Murray

Raanta is expected to start and has a 5-3-2 record with a 2.66 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. Raanta suffered a tough loss in San Jose last Saturday stopping 26 of 29 shots.

Murray has a 9-5-4 record with a 2.84 GAA and a .897 SV%, with one shutout on the year. The Pittsburgh goaltender is projected in net and has not played since November 30th, when he allowed five goals on just 27 shots in a road defeat to St. Louis.

Prediction

Penguins 4, Coyotes 2

Moneyline (ML)

The PENGUINS (-189) are the rested team Friday night going up against one of the best road teams in the NHL (Arizona 10-3-3 road mark). Pittsburgh counters with an 11-3-2 home record. Also, there is a possibility Pittsburgh may have Bryan Rust and Jordan Schultz back from injury (both game-time decisions). Take the Penguins.

A $10 bet with Pittsburgh results in a $5.29 profit with an outright win over the Coyotes.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Penguins are just 12-16 ATS, while the Coyotes are best in the NHL at 20-10. However, the Coyotes are the underdogs (+1.5, -182) and that does not look appealing. AVOID.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 5.5 (EVEN) is worth a small bet. The Over has connected in two of the previous three meetings between the teams. Also, Pittsburgh averages 3.5 goals per game at home, while Arizona averages 2.69 goals per contest on the road.

Placing a $10 bet here will earn a $10.00 profit with a total of six or more goals scored.

Arizona Coyotes at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Arizona Coyotes at Philadelphia Flyers sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Philadelphia Flyers (16-7-5) host the Arizona Coyotes (16-9-4) Thursday at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. We analyze the Coyotes-Flyers sports betting odds and lines, while providing NHL betting tips and picks around this matchup.

Coyotes at Flyers: Projected starting goalies

Darcy Kuemper vs. Brian Elliott

Kuemper is 11-6-2 with a .936 save percentage and a 1.97 goals against average. He stopped 33 of 35 shot attempts in his last start, a 4-2 win at the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday.

Raanta is 3-2-0 over his last five starts, but he’s coming off a home loss to the San Jose Sharks in which he allowed three goals on 29 shots. He has a 5-3-2 record on the year with a .924 save percentage and 2.66 goals against average.

Elliott won each of his past three starts with all coming on the road. The backup to Carter Hart owns a 7-2-2 record with a .916 SV% and a 2.70 GAA through 11 starts and three relief appearances.

Prediction

Flyers 4, Coyotes 2

Moneyline (ML)

The FLYERS (-154) seek a sixth straight victory. They’re 9-1-4 on home ice with a plus-12 goal differential on the season. The Coyotes (+125) are 9-3-3 on the road and 5-3-2 over their last 10 games. They’re coming off Tuesday’s two-goal victory at Columbus. The Flyers also last played Tuesday and beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-1 at home.

The Flyers average 51.67% of all shot attempts at 5-on-5 while the Coyotes average just 47.05%. Philadelphia also has the edge in scoring chances at full strength. The Coyotes have been riding some puck luck, as they rank fifth in the NHL with a PDO (save percentage plus shooting percentage) of 1.019.
