Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals preseason Week 2 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) visit the Arizona Cardinals (1-0) Friday for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at State Farm Stadium. Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Cardinals odds and lines and make our best NFL picks, predictions, and bets.

The Chiefs will play their starters for about a half Friday, according to head coach Andy Reid, as QB Patrick Mahomes looks to get even more comfortable with his retooled offensive line after logging about a quarter’s worth of action against the San Francisco 49ers last week.

Arizona is expected to give QB Kyler Murray his first game action of the preseason after the star quarterback sat out the opener. The Cardinals upgraded the offense during the offseason with the additions of RB James Conner and WR A.J. Green.

Chiefs at Cardinals odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 21, Cardinals 20

Money line

Bet on the CHIEFS (-190) Reid will have his offense on the field for the entire first half.

Mahomes should thrive behind OT Orlando Brown and G Joe Thuney during the regular season and Friday night offers the first glimpse of the retooled Kansas City offensive front.

Against the spread

PASS on the Chiefs -3.5 (-105), as Reid is only 39-39-4 ATS in the preseason.

Kansas City’s high-powered offense should get the Chiefs out to an early lead before giving way to the reserves and roster bubble guys for the second half. Arizona could make things close in the end.

Over/Under

Bet on the OVER 40.5 (-115) as both teams are capable of putting points on the board in a hurry.

For Kansas City, WR Tyreek Hill, TE Travis Kelce, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire and the retooled offensive line will all see extended time against an Arizona defense that will be without DE J.J. Watt.

The Cardinals, at +110 odds, have an implied 47.62% chance of winning, or 11/10 fractional odds. If Arizona wins outright, ties, or loses by less than a field goal a Cardinals +2.5 (-105) ATS bet wins.

The Chiefs (-133) have an implied 57.08% chance of beating the Cardinals, or 100/133 fractional odds. Kansas City must win by 3 or more points for a Chiefs -2.5 (-115) ATS ticket to cash.

There would need to be at least 42 points scored Friday for an Over 41.5 (-105) ticket to cash, while a combined point total of 41 or fewer points is a win for the Under.

Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals preseason Week 1 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Cowboys (0-1) visit the Arizona Cardinals (0-0) Friday for a 10 p.m. ET kickoff at State Farm Stadium. Below, we look at the Cowboys at Cardinals odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Cowboys are coming off a Hall of Fame Game loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Canton, Ohio, and star QB Dak Prescott will miss another start after suffering a shoulder strain during the first week of training camp.

Backup QBs Garrett Gilbert and Ben DiNucci will get the bulk of the action in his place. Gilbert threw for 104 yards and was sacked twice last week.

The Cardinals will be without DL J.J. Watt, who has been rehabbing a hamstring injury. QB Kyler Murray will likely see one series of game action.

Cowboys at Cardinals odds, lines, predictions, and picks

Prediction

Cowboys 21, Cardinals 10

Money line

The Cardinals are slight favorites on the money line. Dallas reported to camp a week earlier and has an extra game under its belt, while Arizona will spend the bulk of the night working off the rust.

Take the COWBOYS (+115) as plus-money underdogs.

Against the spread

The Cowboys are 2.5-point underdogs on the road and even without Prescott, should cover with Gilbert perfectly capable of big-time passing performances.

Roll with the COWBOYS +2.5 (-105) with 2 points of insurance in the event of a loss.

Over/Under

Although both offenses are built for a shootout, Murray only playing one series should lead bettors to the UNDER 37.5 (-105).

Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals odds and lines: New-look Cardinals open preseason

The Dallas Cowboys already have a preseason game in the books as they suffered a 16-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame game. They will have four games in the preseason instead of three.

They take on the Arizona Cardinals this week, who revamped their roster with established veterans like DE J.J. Watt, WR A.J. Green and OL Rodney Hudson in an attempt to make a push for the postseason before QB Kyler Murray becomes one of the league’s highest-paid quarterbacks.

This week’s game is Arizona’s preseason opener. Kickoff is 10 p.m. ET at State Farm Stadium Friday night. Below, we look at the Cowboys at Cardinals odds and lines.

  • Cardinals OLB Haason Reddick has 7.5 sacks and six forced fumbles in his last three games.
  • Arizona allowed 227 rushing yards in Week 16 in a 20-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
  • The Rams have beaten the Cardinals seven straight games. They have not lost to Arizona since Sean McVay became head coach.

Cardinals at Rams: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cardinals 23, Rams 16

Money line (?)

The Cardinals have struggled over the last six weeks but the Rams have also struggled offensively in their two-game losing streak and now will be missing their starting quarterback, leading rusher and leading receiver. While the Rams do have the No. 1 defense, the Cardinals put up 28 points against them in Week 13 despite only gaining 232 total yards. The Rams just won’t be able to put up enough points. Take the CARDINALS (-185).

Against the spread (?)

Arizona is 7-8 ATS and the Rams are 8-7 ATS. They have covered the spread in each of their last two wins. The Rams, who have only been underdogs four other times this season, are 2-2 ATS as underdogs. Take the CARDINALS -3 (-120).

Over/Under (?)

The total began the week at 38.5 but moved to 40.5 once it was known that Cardinals QB Kyler Murray would play. The two teams went Over in their Week 13 matchup but the combination of the Rams’ No. 1 defense and the sheer lack of talent playing on offense for L.A. means a low-scoring affair. Take UNDER 40.5 POINTS (-110).

49ers at Cardinals: Game notes

  • San Francisco has lost three games in a row, six out of seven and has been eliminated from postseason contention. The Cardinals have won two in a row and can potentially clinch a playoff berth this weekend.
  • Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is coming off a career-high 406 passing yards in Week 15 with three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. He was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
  • Arizona has collected 14 sacks in the last two weeks.
  • 49ers QB C.J. Beathard is making his first start of 2020 in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo and Nick Mullens. Beathard is 1-9 in his career as a starter.
  • In the Cardinals’ 24-20 season-opening win over the 49ers, QR DeAndre Hopkins had a career-high 14 receptions for 151 yards.

49ers at Cardinals: Key injuries

49ers

  • QB Nick Mullens (elbow) out
  • RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) out
  • WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) out
  • CB Richard Sherman (calf) out
  • Jimmie Ward (concussion) questionable
  • CB Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring) questionable

Cardinals

  • LB Dennis Gardeck (knee) out
  • RB Chase Edmonds (knee, ankle) questionable
  • WR Larry Fitzgerald (groin) questionable
  • TE Dan Arnold (back) questionable
  • LB Haason Reddick (shoulder) questionable

49ers at Cardinals: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cardinals 31, 49ers 17

Money line (?)

Arizona is playing good football again, winning two in a row after losing three straight. San Francisco has lost six of seven and is down to its third-string quarterback and does not have its top running back, receiver, pass rusher, cornerback and safety.

Beathard is making his fifth appearance against the Cardinals in his career. He has never beaten them and Arizona needs to win to stay in control of the No. 7 seed in the NFC. Take the CARDINALS (-250).

Against the spread (?)

In addition to losing six of seven games, the 49ers have failed to cover in any of those six losses. They are 5-9 ATS this season. Arizona is 7-7 ATS but has won and covered in their last two games after failing to cover the spread in five straight. They should be able to move the ball and score points on a depleted 49ers defense and maintain their playoff chances.

Take the CARDINALS -5 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

The Cardinals’ offense seems to be back on track. Their games have gone Over only five times this season but those five times have been in the last eight games. San Francisco’s games have gone Under in three of five. Arizona’s offense will be fine, but with Beathard at QB without the 49ers’ top offensive players, they will struggle.

Take UNDER 48.5 POINTS (-110).

Eagles at Cardinals: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cardinals 31, Eagles 17

Money line (?)

The Cardinals got back on track after three straight losses in a 26-7 win over the New York Giants in Week 14. The Eagles beat the Saints after four straight losses.

The Cardinals are playing for the playoffs and the Eagles are trying to get back into the picture in the NFC East. But Philly’s secondary and offensive line are too banged up to stop the Cardinals’ pass rush and offense.

TAKE THE CARDINALS (-275).

Against the spread (?)

The Cardinals faced a similarly built team in the Washington Football Team earlier this season. They easily won 30-15. Philadelphia is only 1-5 ATS on the road and 1-2 ATS after a win.

TAKE THE CARDINALS -6.5 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

The Cardinals have the second-lowest Over percentage in the league at 30.8%. Philly isn’t much better at 38.5%. The Cardinals had five straight games with at least 30 points earlier in the season and appeared to get the offense back on track last week. Philadelphia’s 24 points in Week 14 were the most they scored in seven games.

TAKE UNDER 49.5 POINTS (-110).

The Giants are on a roll and the Cardinals are in a bit of a tailspin. However, as tough as the Giants’ defense has been, they probably won’t be able to match the five sacks they had against Seattle when they play the Cardinals.

Arizona’s offense has been too good for most of the season to stay in this funk. With the Cardinals getting healthy on the defensive line, the Giants will have a harder time running the ball. Take the CARDINALS (-135).

Against the spread (?)

The short spread makes wagering against your money line pick prohibitive. The Giants are a strong 8-4 ATS while Arizona has fallen to 5-7 ATS after a very good start to the season.

But, that Arizona offense won’t stay down forever and if Drake is not 100%, RB Chase Edmonds has been very good in two career games at MetLife Stadium. He has scored four touchdowns in two games and has 242 total yards from scrimmage in those games. Take the CARDINALS -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under (?)

As good as the Cardinals’ offense was for most of the season, they are only 4-8 O/U. New York is 3-9 O/U. Arizona will not be able to get 30 against that tough Giants defense, but the New York offense struggles. Don’t expect a ton of points in this game.

Take the UNDER 44.5 POINTS (-105).

Rams at Cardinals: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Rams 28, Cardinals 25

Money line (?)

The Cardinals have lost three of four overall and are currently on a six-game losing streak against the Rams. They have not been as effective offensively the last two weeks and the Rams have a very good defense. Take the RAMS (-152).

Against the spread (?)

The Cardinals are 3-1 against the spread as underdogs this year, but with only a 2.5-point spread, it will be very hard for the Cardinals to cover and still lose. Take the RAMS -2.5 (-115) to win by at least 3 points.

Over/Under (?)

Both the Rams and the Cardinals are 3-8 against the O/U this season, but both teams can move the ball. The 47.5 projection is low. Take OVER 47.5 (-115).

Cardinals at Patriots: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cardinals 30, Patriots 23

Money line (?)

The Cardinals have no problem moving the football and scoring points offensively. There is no individual matchup where the Patriots really have an advantage. New England will be able to have some success running the ball, but if Arizona builds a lead, the Pats will have to rely on the passing game. The Cardinals, coming off a disappointing loss against the Seahawks, are extra rested. Take the CARDINALS -125.

Against the spread (?)

Arizona is 5-5 ATS this season and New England is 4-6 ATS. But a 1.5-point spread is too small to go with the Pats if you think the Cardinals will win outright. You can’t reasonably predict a one-point win. Take the CARDINALS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under (?)

The total is low for a Cardinals game, even though they are 3-7 O/U this season. The total in their games has gone Over in three of their last four contests. The Cardinals have been consistently hitting 30 points and I expect nothing less. Take OVER 49.5 (-110).
