Jalen Carter, defensive lineman (No. 88):
Class: Freshman
Height: 6-3
Weight: 305 pounds
Hometown: Apopka, Florida
High School: Apopka High School
Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jalen Carter came to Athens as one of the top players in the class of 2020. Carter was rated as both a five and four-star prospect according to recruiting services.
At Apopka High School, Carter played tight end, punter, and defensive tackle. He dominated as a senior and recorded 12 sacks. He played at the same high school as NFL legend Warren Sapp.
Carter was quite impressive in camps and against stout competition. Can he hold up as well in the SEC? Not too much will be expected of him as a freshman, but he’s certainly got the talent to break into UGA’s talented front seven.
The Dawgs return Jordan Davis, Julian Rochester, Malik Herring, Travon Walker, and more along the defensive line. Carter will be fun to watch next season.
#ESPNJr300 prospect Jalen Carter out of Apopka is bit of a jumbo athlete who plays TE but was glad to seeing him working w/ the D-Line today at UA Miami camp – which w/ frame & skill set can be a better/more promising long term fit #Canes #TheU #UGA #WDE #Auburn pic.twitter.com/szsrLrn0o0
