Oklahoma back in AP Poll top-25 at No. 24 after 33-14 win over TCU

The Oklahoma Sooners are back in the AP Poll top 25 at No. 24 after their win over TCU on Saturday.

Oklahoma defeated TCU on Saturday by a final score of 33-14 to improve to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in Big 12 play.

The win has vaulted Oklahoma back into the AP Poll top 25 at No. 24 after being unranked for the past few weeks for the first time since 2016.

Clemson stays as the top dog at No. 1 following their win over Syracuse. The remaining top five consists of Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Georgia.

Other Big 12 teams in the rankings include Oklahoma State at No. 6, Kansas State at No. 16, and Iowa State at No. 23.

Texas also received two votes for a ranking spot, but that puts them still firmly on the outside looking in behind 16 other teams before Boise State at No. 25.

Next up for the Sooners will be a trip to Lubbock to take on unranked Texas Tech on Halloween night.

Michigan climbs latest AP Top 25 poll after win over No. 21 Minnesota

Michigan football moves up the AP Top 25 poll after taking down No. 21 Minnesota. How high did the Wolverines jump after the win?

[jwplayer gSlNmwGc-XNcErKyb]

While there weren’t many upsets this week in the world of college football, but there was a huge upset inside the Big Ten as Indiana upset No. 8 Penn State in double overtime. That upset and a few more losses by teams ranked ahead of the Wolverines should help Michigan move up the rankings. Michigan also did its job by taking down No. 21 Minnesota 49-24, to help boost their chances of moving up the polls.

It will be interesting to see how Michigan being 1-0 compared to other teams that have played more games, but with it being a shortened season, the AP pollsters and soon the College Football Playoff committee will have to work with what they got. Check out the latest poll below.

This time last week, Texas was fresh off a loss to OU and dropped out of the AP poll. Nothing changed on Sunday as UT remained unranked.

This time last week, Texas was fresh off a Red River Shootout loss to Oklahoma and dropped out of the AP poll. Nothing changed on Sunday, as the Longhorns remain outside of the top 25 for the second consecutive week.

Only one Big 12 game took place on Saturday between Kansas and West Virginia. After getting off to an early 10-0 deficit, the Mountaineers rallied back by scoring 38 unanswered points. West Virginia is now 2-1 in conference play.

The biggest fall of the week was former Texas head coach Mack Brown and North Carolina. The Tar Heels had crept their way into the top five before traveling to Tallahassee to play Florida State. The Seminoles pulled off the upset, extending Brown’s record against them to 0-10.

Oklahoma still outside AP Poll Top 25 after week off

The Oklahoma Sooners are still unranked in the AP Poll Top 25 after having the week off on Saturday.

Oklahoma slipped unranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 2016 after their loss to Iowa State a couple of weeks ago.

The Sooners remained there following their win over Texas the next week, and now will continue to stay outside the top 25 for at least another week after having a bye on Saturday.

Oklahoma is the second team out in the “others receiving votes” category just behind the Memphis Tigers.

Clemson stays at No. 1 after slaughtering Georgia Tech on Saturday, with the top five being rounded out by Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Ohio State.

The Big 12 teams in the rankings include Oklahoma State at No. 6, Iowa State at No. 17, and Kansas State at No. 20.

The Texas Longhorns also received one top 25 vote.

Next up for the Sooners will be a trip to Fort Worth next weekend to take on TCU.

OU still outside AP Poll Top 25 after Week 6 of season

Oklahoma remains unranked in the AP Top 25 despite win over Texas this weekend.

[jwplayer kyuJhM3C-er0jUifI]

The Oklahoma Sooners fell unranked in the AP Poll last week for the first time since 2016 after their loss to the Iowa State Cyclones had them sitting at 1-2.

This week, the Sooners picked up a big win over rival No. 22 Texas in the Red River Showdown in a four-overtime shootout 53-45.

After the win, there was some thought that this could be a chance for Oklahoma to sneak back into the rankings – but for the second straight week the Sooners remain unranked.

Oklahoma is the third team out in the “others receiving votes” category behind Marshall and NC State.

Clemson is unsurprisingly still at the top of the rankings, followed by Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and North Carolina to round out the top five.

Big 12 teams in the poll include Oklahoma State at No. 7, Iowa State at No. 20, and Kansas State at No. 22.

Oklahoma has the week off this week before traveling to play at TCU on October 24th.

AP poll: Texas unranked for first time in 2020

UT dropped its second game of the season, losing to OU. Because of the loss, UT drops out of the AP poll for the first time this season.

Texas dropped its second game of the season, losing in Dallas to Oklahoma on Saturday. It was Tom Herman’s fourth career loss to the Sooners, losing three Red River Shootouts and one Big 12 championship matchup. The Longhorns are now a distance away from getting back to Arlington.

Because of the loss, Texas drops out of the AP poll for the first time this season. The Longhorns were unranked in four games last season, winning three of them. After a long bye week, Herman will need to refocus the group for an extremely important Baylor matchup.

Looking at the rest of the Big 12, Kansas State jumps back into the poll at No. 22 after defeating TCU on Saturday. Oklahoma State at No. 7 and Iowa State at No. 20 represents the rest of the conference.
