Gibson is coming off a home win over the Nashville Predators Sunday in which he stopped 22 of 26 shots on goal. He has a .906 SV% and 2.95 GAA for a 13-16-3 record.

The Ducks (+115) are coming off a 4-3 home loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday. They’re 3-6-1 across their last 10 but are 11-8-3 at home.

Back the DUCKS (+115) at plus-money, due to their relatively impressive home record and Bishop’s struggles on the road. Both teams are below 50% in Corsi rating (percentage of total shot attempts) at 5-on-5.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The safer, but less rewarding play, is to take the DUCKS (+1.5, -250) on the puck line. The Stars are 23-20 against the spread overall and 12-8 on the road, while the Ducks are 21-22 ATS overall and 10-12 at home. The Stars won the year’s first meeting 2-1 in Dallas.

They’re 5-4-1 over their last 10 games and 9-8-2 on the road for the season. The Ducks (+110) are home dogs, but they’ve lost three straight and are 3-6-1 across their last 10 games.

The Predators rank fifth in the NHL with a Corsi rating (percentage of all shot attempts) of 52.80 at 5-on-5. The Ducks rank 23rd at 48.13%. Nashville won the season’s first head-to-head meeting 6-1 at home Oct. 22.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Increase your profit margin by backing the PREDATORS (-1.5, +200) to win by at least 2 goals. The Preds are 17-23 against the spread overall and 9-10 on the road, while the Ducks are 20-21 ATS overall and 9-11 at home. Philly has won four of the past five overall, and is 7-2 in the past nine as a home favorite.

Rangers center Mika Zibanejad scored the second fastest goal in Rangers history

Well, that was fast.

Hockey is an extremely fast game. That’s one of the best things about the sport — it flows and moves quickly. But it’s not normally THIS quick.

It took all of 10 seconds for New York Rangers center Mike Zibanejad to score the first goal of the game against the Anaheim Ducks. It all happened so quickly.

The Rangers won the face-off but the Ducks quickly stole the puck. Zibanejad happened to be skating in the right place at the right time and intercepted an arid pass from the Ducks on his way slashing to the goal. It led to a shot and, boom, he scored.

The crazy part is he was still one second shy of scoring the fastest goal in franchise history. The record of nine seconds has been hit twice in Rangers history — once by Ron Duguay in 1980 and another time by Jim Wiemer in 1985.

Got to be quicker than that, I guess. It’s still impressive.

The UNDER 5.5 (-121) is a nice, small play on Monday night given the last five meetings have seen the under connect four times.
