The Alabama Crimson Tide finished the 2020 season with a national championship and the top spot in the final Amway Coaches Poll.

[jwplayer UDdLLuCj]

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Ohio State in the 2021 College Football Playoff national championship, and is officially ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation according to the Amway Coaches Poll.

A season unlike any other resulted in a 13-0 record for the Crimson Tide, with 11 wins against SEC opponents and then the two playoff wins against Notre Dame and Ohio State.

An interesting note was to see Notre Dae drop out of the top four, and be replaced by Texas A&M, a team which many thought deserved to be in the playoffs.

Ohio State football finishes No. 2 in final Amway Coaches Poll

The final Amway Coaches college football poll is out, and Ohio State finished up the 2020 campaign at No. 2 behind Alabama.

The season is over and Ohio State fell just short of taking home its ninth national championship. The Buckeyes made it all the way to the national championship game, but a superior Alabama team took it to OSU and won handily 55-24.

As always happens, the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports released its final rankings for the season, and Ohio State finished in the same spot as where it ended up in the AP Poll, right behind Alabama at No. 2.

The top ten has the same host of characters you’d expect behind those two with Clemson (3), Texas A&M (4), Notre Dame (5), Oklahoma (6), Georgia (7), Cincinnati (8). Iowa State (9). and Northwestern (10).

I’m sure upon reflection, many will look back at this season as a resounding success on the banks of the Olentangy, but for many, finishing No. 2 behind Alabama in the fashion that it all went down Monday night, doesn’t sit well. However, for now, it’s now time to focus the attention on next season, and we’ll be doing that moving forward.

Ohio State is to be congratulated for pushing through so much adversity and making as far as it did despite all the things working against it.

Florida drops in final Amway Coaches Poll for 2020-21 season

The last Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports was released on Tuesday afternoon, providing definitive final standings for the year

The final Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports was released on Tuesday afternoon, providing definitive final standings for this year’s college football season. Unfortunately, the results were not in favor of the Gator Nation.

The Florida Gators stumbled across the finish line this past season, losing its last three games — a losing streak precipitated by a shocking loss to the LSU Tigers at home in the final game of the regular season. After hanging tough in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, losing to the eventual national champions by just six points, a short-handed Gators squad was bulldozed by the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl.

Subsequently, Florida finishes the season ranked No. 12 in the nation, behind three fellow SEC schools — Alabama at No. 1, the Texas A&M Aggies at No. 4 and the Georgia Bulldogs at No. 7. There are no other conference schools ranked in the top 25.

Here are the complete results from the final Amway Coaches Poll of the 2020-21 college football season.
