Trio of Alabama players officially make their 2023 NFL draft decisions

Three Alabama stars have officially declared for the 2023 NFL draft.

Bryce Young, Will Anderson Jr., and Jahmyr Gibbs have officially announced their intentions to enter the 2023 NFL draft.

All three players are expected to be first-round picks in April’s draft, with Young and Anderson having the potential to be the top two picks overall.

Each player announced their decision just moments ago via a press conference on the campus of the University of Alabama.

Young, Anderson, and Gibbs each took a turn behind the podium to thank everyone who helped them along the way to accomplish this tremendous goal.

Young is quite possibly the greatest quarterback in Alabama history and etched his name in Crimson lore after being the first Tide signal caller to win the Heisman Trophy during his 2021 campaign.

Anderson is one of Alabama’s greatest defensive players of not only the Nick Saban era but of all time. Anderson finished his Tide career with an incredible 34.5 sacks.

Gibbs joined the Tide via the transfer portal ahead of the 2022 season and instantly made an impact on the Alabama offense. Gibbs totaled over 1,300 yards from scrimmage and was a threat as both a runner and a receiver.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the careers of all three former Alabama stars.

WATCH: New Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel, raves about Tua Tagovailoa

Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel, “Tua has the most catchable ball I have ever seen.”

The Miami Dolphins may have made the hire of the year when the front office brought in former San Francisco 49ers run game coordinator and offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel, to take over as their head coach.

McDaniel started with the Denver Broncos in 2005 as a Coaching intern and has worked his up the ladder to become an NFL head coach at only age 39. He is highly regarded for what he did with the 49ers’ run game and his ability to get the most out of star players such as Deebo Samuel.

McDaniel is the perfect fit for a roster that includes Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill as his main goal offensively is to get his athletes the ball in space so they can take off toward the end zone. McDaniel is also a big believer in quarterback [autotag]Tua Tagovailoa[/autotag], he believes that he is a great quarterback for the system he is trying to run as Tagovailoa delivers a catchable ball for receivers that won’t put them in danger.

Tagovailoa and former Dolphins head coach, Brian Flores, never seemed to wind up on the same page. So having a coach, like McDaniel, who believes so deeply in him is only going to provide him with confidence.

On the Dan Le Batard show with Stugotz, McDaniel spoke of the former Crimson Tide’s signal caller highly saying, “From what I have witnessed, if I was going to catch a football, Tua has the most accurate and the most catchable… My job is to make sure his best years as a football player are right in front of him right now.”

Jameson Williams gets Matt Stafford’s approval to wear No. 9 for Detroit Lions

Jameson Williams awesome gesture to Matthew Stafford

Despite suffering through a number of coaches, inconsistent rosters, injuries and more, Matthew Stafford showed up to work every day for the city of Detroit. Stafford left a lasting legacy through different charities and foundations that he and his family established in the community.

Stafford was traded to the Los Angeles Rams prior to the 2021 season, but the love for Stafford has never wavered in Detroit as Lions fans rejoiced when he won the Super Bowl this past February.

Former Crimson Tide wide receiver, [autotag]Jameson Williams[/autotag], was selected No. 12 overall in the 2022 NFL by the Detroit Lions, and he hopes to leave the same impact on Detroit that Stafford did. Williams has generational speed and elite play-making talent that already makes fans fawn over him, but this classy move to the Detroit legend is what may truly win the city over.

Williams initially intended on wearing No. 18 for the Lions, however, No. 9 caught his eye and he was ready to make the switch. However, before officially doing that, Williams reached out to Stafford on his own to get his permission to wear the number. Stafford happily obliged, but the move by Williams is one that will definitely set a precedent moving forward.

Hopefully, Williams can continue his speedy recovery from a torn ACL and make his NFL debut as soon as possible.
