WATCH: Alabama baseball’s incredible play vs. Harvard goes viral

One play in Alabama’s sweep against Harvard has gone viral, and it’s easy to understand why.

The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team has started the season by making some big statements. Not only have they started the season 13-0, they’ve also worked their way into the Top 25, which is the second best start in the program’s history.

But that’s not all. One play in Alabama’s sweep against Harvard last weekend has gone viral, and it’s easy to understand why. You have to watch this video for yourself:

Have you ever seen such an insane play?

Alabama’s Kolby Robinson sent a ground ball to third, but a throwing error by Harvard allowed him to reach at first. But that was just the beginning.

The wild sequence ensued as Harvard committed two more errors on the play and allowed three runs to score, including Robinson himself.

The Crimson Tide will host Lipscomb in a weekend series starting Friday at 6PM CT. The series will be on the SEC Network and SEC Network+.

After sweeping the Harvard Crimson in this past weekend’s series, Alabama baseball improves to 12-0 on the season, the second best start in the programs  history.

The team’s best start was in 1997 when the Crimson Tide opened up the season with a 15-0 start. That year ended with them being crowned the SEC Tournament champions and a second place finish at the College World Series.

With this impressive beginning to the season, USA TODAY’s coaches poll ranks them at No. 25.

There are 11 total SEC teams in the top-25, five of which occupying spots in the top-ten.

Overall, head coach Brad Bohannon’s Alabama team has outscored opponents by a total of 25 runs.

Junior outfielder Tyler Gentry is having an amazing season thus far. Through 40 plate appearances Gentry has a batting average of .450, 13 RBIs off of 18 hits and two home runs.

A powerful offense is what sets this 2020 Crimson Tide team apart from years prior. Freshman outfielder Owen Diodati and redshirt-sophomore catcher Sam Praytor are responsible for eight of the teams 16 total homeruns – each with four a piece.

The pitching staff, which is one of the older units on the squad, has been a nice complement to the teams heavy dose of offense with an overall ERA of 2.58.

There’s a lot of baseball left to play in 2020, but Bohannon seems to have finally gotten his team together in year No. 3. Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on all things Alabama baseball throughout the season.

Alabama baseball sweeps Harvard in weekend series in Tuscaloosa

On Sunday, the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team improved to 12-0 after sweeping Harvard.

On Sunday, the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team improved to 12-0 after sweeping Harvard. This is the second-best start to a season in program history.

On Friday, Alabama won 15-3, followed by a 10-5 win on Saturday. With Sunday’s 6-3 win, Alabama has once again completed a sweep. Last week Alabama swept UNLV in Las Vegas.

On Sunday, Alabama was led by TJ Reeves. Reeves finished with two as part of his 1-for-4 afternoon that included the home run, a walk and one run scored.

Head Coach Brad Bohannon had this to say after the game:

“This was just another really good win for us today. When the wind’s blowing in, you’re going to be in tight games and that was a good experience for us to be in, a tight game like that. Antoine (Jean) pitched well today, worked around some bad luck, some soft contact, and, obviously, I feel like I keep saying this but the bullpen was just awesome. (Jacob) McNairy and (Brock) Guffey were outstanding. We had a couple of games the last week and a half where we have gotten behind, and one of the big keys to winning those games is the bullpen coming in, giving our offense time to work and multiple guys have just been really, really good in that role. I’m glad to get the win, glad to get the sweep, and I’m excited to continue to move forward with league play around the corner.”

Alabama will host South Alabama on Wednesday in Tuscaloosa on March 3rd. On Thursday, Alabama will also host North Alabama, Both games are scheduled for 3 PM CT and will be on SEC Network+.
