Bucs FA update: Tampa Bay’s remaining free agents in 2023

After WR Breshad Perriman signed with the Colts, the Bucs have nine remaining free agents in 2023.

There aren’t many free agents left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after both WR Breshad Perriman and DE Genard Avery left for the Indianapolis Colts.

As it stands, there are nine remaining free agents from 2022 that are currently active in the NFL (QB Tom Brady and RB Giovani Bernard retired and will thus not be counted on this list). It will be interesting to see if the Bucs resign any of the nine players listed below, though there are also a few that Tampa Bay are sure to move on from.

Here is a list of every remaining Bucs free agent in 2023:

Recapping Saints draft history in Round 3 since 2002

We’re recapping the New Orleans Saints’ draft history in Round 3 dating back to 2002. They’ve found stars like Alvin Kamara, Terron Armstead, and Jimmy Graham here:

We’re continuing to recap the New Orleans Saints’ draft history in Round 3 dating back to 2002, when Mickey Loomis was first promoted to general manager. They’ve found stars in this round like Alvin Kamara, Terron Armstead, and Jimmy Graham while occasionally missing on picks, but that’s the nature of the game.

We’ve already explored the Saints’ history in other rounds, which are linked below. Now let’s keep it moving into Round 3:

25 remaining free agents the Vikings can still sign

The NFL Draft is fast approaching, but there is still plenty of talent left in free agency for the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings made plenty of waves during free agency with the signings of Josh Oliver, Marcus Davenport and Byron Murphy Jr. They have a few of their own free agents still out on the market and could potentially make some waves before and after the draft.

Who could the Vikings target that is still available? There are quite a few solid veteran options available and things could change after the draft.

What do the Vikings do if they trade a player like Ezra Cleveland?

Will the sign another edge rusher or running back when they inevitably trade Za’Darius Smith and Dalvin Cook?

Todd Bowles hopeful of Akiem Hicks return

It would be quite a boon for the Bucs’ defensive line rotation if Hicks were to return for another year.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have done a great job of bringing back some key pieces from last year, and it’s looking like the team may try to bring back another.

FOX Sports’ Greg Auman reported that Todd Bowles expressed interest in defensive tackle [autotag]Akiem Hicks[/autotag] returning to the team while at NFL meetings in Arizona. While that would ultimately be both Jason Licht and Hicks’ decision, Hicks has yet to sign with another team since the beginning of free agency.

Hicks was a big part of the Bucs’ defensive line — when he was healthy. He only played 11 games in 2022, but he managed 20 total tackles, a sack and three passes defended in that span. His best game was arguably his last regular season game against the Falcons, where he managed three tackles and a sack.

Tampa Bay could certainly use a player like Hicks back. Almost the entire defensive line outside of Vita Vea is a free agent, and securing Hicks for a second season with the Bucs would allow the team a nice rotation of him, Vea and newly-acquired defensive tackle Greg Gaines.

2023 NFL free agency: Ranking 7 interior DL targets for the Seahawks

Here are seven of the best interior linemen who are still available.

The Seahawks are deadly serious about revamping their interior defensive line. So far they have released Shelby Harris, Quinton Jefferson and Al Woods. Seattle has also signed Dre’Mont Jones and Jarran Reed.

After cutting Woods odds are they are looking to get younger at this spot – therefore probably picking his replacement in the draft. However, if they decide to hit up the veteran market again, they have some quality options. Here are seven of the best interior linemen who are still available.

Deion Sanders used his Bucs-Cowboys ManningCast appearance to rip a roughing the passer call to shreds

Deion Sanders couldn’t believe Dak Prescott got this call.

Deion Sanders joined the loud chorus of people who continue to be in disbelief over what constitutes as roughing the passer in the NFL.

The NFL Hall of Famer and freshly minted Colorado football coach joined Peyton Manning and Eli Manning on the season’s final ManningCast just in time for a wonky roughing the passer call on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The refs flagged a hit on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott from Bucs defensive end Akiem Hicks, and Sanders just was not there for the penalty being called.

He became lively when questioning just exactly what about Hicks’ hit was a penalty, though Eli Manning thought the hit might’ve qualified for a flag.

Sanders joking with the Mannings about why they might be tempted to return to the field because of how little constitutes as roughing the passer these days is exactly why the ManningCast continues to be the gift that keeps on giving.

Dallas scored a touchdown on that drive, so without question, the call impacted the game. Hicks’ hit might make a bit more sense for the call than some other recent examples, but Sanders wasn’t having it.

After all, in a game where the Tom Brady is playing, NFL fans can always expect some weird roughing the passer calls.

20 most memorable moments that defined the Bears in 2022

From a regime change in January to trades in October, here are the 20 moments that defined the Bears in 2022.

2022 has been quite the year for the Chicago Bears. It began with sweeping changes to the front office in January, leading to a mass exodus of veterans in March, and ultimately resulting in a team that’s battling for the No. 1 overall draft pick by the end of December.

But while the Bears entered into a rebuild in 2022, they also saw the growth of quarterback Justin Fields, who became one of the most electric players in the league.

From free agency drama to training camp holdouts, here are the 20 moments that defined the Bears in chronological order.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have some big names on this week’s injury report, but they should have one key player on each side of the ball in the lineup for Week 14.

Running back Leonard Fournette and defensive lineman Akiem Hicks are both expected to play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Both players were limited by foot injuries in practice this week, and were listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report Friday.

Report: Bucs DL Vita Vea, Akiem Hicks expected to play vs. Saints

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have both of their starting defensive tackles in the lineup Monday night against the New Orleans Saints

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have both of their space-eating defensive tackles in the lineup for Monday night’s prime-time showdown with the New Orleans Saints.

Vita Vea and Akiem Hicks are both expected to play Monday night despite dealing with foot injuries, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Both players were listed as questionable on Friday’s final injury report.

Hicks suffered his initial foot injury during Tampa Bay’s win in Week 2 back in New Orleans, while Vea played through his last week against the Cleveland Browns.

Having both in the lineup should be a huge boost for the Bucs, as they look to contain one of the NFL’s most dynamic running backs in Alvin Kamara.
