Four-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson commits to Deion Sanders’ CU Buffs

Colorado has landed another four-star commitment

About one hour before kickoff between Colorado and Cincinnati on Saturday night, the Buffaloes received a commitment from class of 2025 wide receiver Adrian Wilson, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Wilson, a four-star (per 247Sports) prospect from Pflugerville, Texas, decommitted from the Arizona State Sun Devils on Wednesday. The 6-foot, 170-pound receiver is a former Oregon Ducks and TCU Horned Frogs commit as well.

Wilson, who’s visiting Boulder this weekend, spoke with On’s Steve Wiltfong about his commitment to head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs. “What excites me the most is the opportunity to go somewhere in the air-raid offense and start,” Wilson told On3.

Although it’s currently unclear who Colorado’s starting quarterback will be next season, Wilson marks the second 2025 four-star wide receiver to commit, joining Quanell X Farrakhan Jr.

Wilson follows three-star defensive lineman Christian Hudson, who flipped from UCF to Colorado on Friday.

Overall, the Buffs now hold 10 class of 2025 commitments.

49ers will need an answer for Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Arizona Cardinals should feel comfortable challenging the 49ers in 1-on-1 situations with WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. wasn’t satisfied with his outing in Week 4, nor the added loss to his team’s season record of 1-3.

Fueled by redemption and the NFC West rivalry with the San Francisco 49ers, quarterback Kyler Murray will be looking to target Harrison more often in Week 5.

The Niners defense hasn’t been invincible like in years past. The Minnesota Vikings scorched them for 403 total yards in week 2, and the Los Angeles Rams rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns versus them in week 3.

Moreover, Murray’s scramble ability will force the Niners linebackers out of zone coverage, which should allow passing lanes for Marvin Harrison Jr. and tight end Trey McBride. Furthermore, unless Niners defensive back Charvarius Ward becomes Superman overnight, the Cardinals should feel comfortable challenging him in one-on-one situations with Harrison.

If the Cardinals can start fast and keep the 49ers on their heels, they should be able to dictate the tempo of this game and regain ground in the NFC West.

Police report reveals frightening details of Adrian Wilson’s domestic violence incident

The police report on Adrian Wilson’s June 1 domestic violence incident details a frightening and shocking scene.

New details behind the arrest of ex-Carolina Panthers vice president of player personnel Adrian Wilson surfaced on Tuesday evening.

The former team executive and five-time Pro Bowl safety was booked by Scottsdale Police Department in the early hours of June 1 on three charges related to domestic violence—including assault, disorderly conduct and criminal damage. ESPN staff writer Josh Weinfruss accessed the police report from the incident, and wrote the following update:

According to the police report, when Wilson returned to his Scottsdale home around 1 a.m. June 1, he found separation papers from his wife waiting for him in the casita he sleeps in when in Arizona. She told police she had hired a private investigator and learned Wilson was having an affair. After Wilson found the papers, he barged into his wife’s room while she was sleeping and then became violent, breaking a TV, mirror and lamp, among other items, according to the report.

Wilson’s wife told police he pinned her against the bed and began to choke her but that she was able to get away. According to the police report, he took a gun from the safe and threatened to leave and kill himself. Wilson’s wife said he never pointed the gun at anyone. He eventually drove away from his house with his gun and called other family members, according to the report.

Wilson’s three children were home at the time, police said.

Indications of his departure from the Panthers first popped up this past weekend, when Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk noted the absence of Wilson’s profile on the official team website. The organization provided this statement on the matter:

“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers. Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”

Per Weinfruss, Wilson is scheduled for a virtual case management conference on July 16.

Report: Former Panthers exec Adrian Wilson arrested on domestic-violence related charges in June

We may have some context behind the quiet departure of former Panthers VP of player personnel Adrian Wilson.

We may have a bit more context behind the Carolina Panthers’ quiet dismissal of Adrian Wilson.

As reported by Joe Person of The Athletic on Tuesday, the now-former vice president of player personnel was arrested on three domestic violence-related charges in Scottsdale, Ariz. The arrest, per a spokesperson from the Scottsdale Police Department and court records, occurred in the early morning of June 1.

The departure became widely known this past weekend, when Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio noted that Wilson’s profile was no longer active on the team’s official website. According to Florio, the organization provided the following comment on the exit:

“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers. Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”

Wilson was hired to the position in February of 2023. The High Point, N.C. native and NC State product served in numerous roles for the Arizona Cardinals’ front office between 2015 and 2022—including as a regional scout, director of pro scouting and vice president of pro scouting.

A third-round pick of the Cardinals in 2001, Wilson played all 12 of his NFL seasons in Arizona. The decorated safety ended up with five Pro Bowl selections, one First-team All-Pro nod, two Second-team All-Pro nods and a spot in the franchise’s Ring of Honor.

Two wide receiver decommits gives Penn State more options

Could Penn State get a second chance at a couple of wide receiver targets in the Class of 2025?

The conversation about Penn State and their wide receiver situation is not going to end anytime soon as long as there remains major questions surrounding the viability of that room.

Entering the upcoming season, they need established players on the team to step up and prevent what happened last year from occurring again.

Going forward, there will be a lot of attention paid to how the Nittany Lions recruit and develop the position.

With that established, it should come as no surprise that [autotag]James Franklin[/autotag] and wide receiver coach [autotag]Marques Hagans[/autotag] are targeting multiple top-end recruits in the class of 2025.

As of now, there is only one commit in the class.

It’s still early, but things would become a lot more comfortable if Penn State was able to start landing some of the targets on their board.

There was a positive update for the Nittany Lions as two of their past targets in the class decommitted from schools and have reopened their recruiting process.

Tyler Calvaruso of 247Sports reports [autotag]Adrian Wilson[/autotag] has backed out his Oregon commitment and [autotag]Jayvan Boggs[/autotag] decommitted from Ohio State. The insider said Penn State maintained their relationships with both players even following their original pledges, but locking them into a commitment won’t be easy (subscription required).

Wilson is a 6’0″, 170-pound prospect from the state of Texas who is rated as a four-star and the No. 16 overall wide receiver in the 2025 class. It will be seen if they can get him in for a visit after failing to get him to campus during the fall.

Boggs has a similar profile, listed at 6’0″ tall and 188 pounds. The Florida native is also a four-star in 247Sports’ Composite Rankings and is listed as the No. 24 player at his position.

The Nittany Lions have been going after wide receivers heavily in this cycle and these decommitments give them more options to pursue throughout spring and summer.

4-star WR Adrian Wilson decommits from Oregon in 2025 class

The Oregon Ducks are reportedly losing 4-star WR Adrian Wilson in the class of 2025 after his decommitment.

One of the members of the Oregon Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class is choosing to open up his options going forward, opting to decommit from the Ducks.

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, 4-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson will be opening up his recruitment going forward. Wilson had been committed to Oregon since July of last year.

Standing at 6-foot-0, 175 pounds, Wilson was rated by the 247Sports composite as the No. 116 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 15 WR. He was predicted to commit to TCU before choosing to join Dan Lanning and Junior Adams a year ago. We will see which schools he prioritizes going forward, and if the Ducks work to try and get him back in the fold as well.

Wilson was not the only WR commit in Oregon’s class, with 5-star WR Dallas Wilson still acting as the top-ranked commitment in the cycle for the Ducks. Wilson stands at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports composite as the No. 22 player in the nation, and the No. 5 WR.

The Ducks also have commitments from QB Akili Smith Jr. and IOL Chavez Thompson on the offensive side of the ball in 2025.

Two more 2025 4-Star wide receivers will make their way to College Station for Texas A&M’s junior day

2025 4-star wide receivers Adrian Wilson and Taz Williams wil reportedly make their way to College Station this weekend for junior day.

This weekend, Texas A&M and new head coach Mike Elko will host a long and talented list of 2025 prospects during the Aggies’ annual junior day, looking to solidify relationships ahead of the usual visiting blitz coming this summer.

According to Rivals’ Landyn Rosow, four-star wide receivers Adrian Wilson and Taz Williams will join the likes of 2025 wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, linebacker Kelvion Riggins, offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, and defensive lineman Xavier Ukponu during Saturday’s festivities, while Wilson remains the only player currently committed to a program (Oregon).

Seeing the noticeable trend, Elko and his staff know that adding offensive playmakers could inject a considerable momentum boost over the next six months, as we’ve already seen through the transfer portal after landing former Purdue Edge and 2023 Big Ten sack leader Nic Scourton to the mix next season.

Adrian Wilson, who is the 53rd-ranked player in the cycle (Rivals), recorded 60 receptions for 1,003 yards and 14 touchdowns during his 2023 junior campaign, while Taz Williams, ranked as the 114th-ranked player in the class (Rivals), hauled in 80 receptions, 1,251 yards and 14 scores through the air last season.
