Oklahoma Sooners 2025 commit among the top performers at the All-American Bowl

An Oklahoma Sooners’ 2025 defensive line commit is listed as a top performer at the All-American Bowl.

With the [autotag]2024 recruiting class[/autotag] pretty much in the books. Barring any last pushes, the focus now shifts to the 2025 class. The Sooners currently have nine commits and rank No. 4 in the country according to 247Sports.

Over the weekend, the All-American Bowl was held with a number of top-rated 2025 and 2026 recruits in attendance. One 2025 Sooner commit who stood out was defensive lineman [autotag]Ka’Mori Moore[/autotag].

In fact, On3’s Sam Spiegelman listed Moore as his third-best performer from the weekend.

2025 Oklahoma-committed DL Ka’Mori Moore was nifty working off the edge and also taking reps on the inside, where he is an absolute mismatch. Moore showcased a handful of pass-rush moves, including an impressive swim, as well as excellent bend from a 6-foot-2, 310-pound DL. Moore had a strong showing inside the Alamodome on Friday, and fits the mold of an athletic 3-technique that can provide some juice from the interior. – Spiegelman

Moore is currently ranked as a three-star prospect, but with more performances like that, he will almost assuredly move up the rankings. The Lee’s Summit North product will also no longer have to share the line with the nation’s top prospect in 2024, giving him a chance to shine by himself.

Even still, it seems like Oklahoma has a good one heading their way coming signing day next season.

Alabama lands commitment from 2024 4-star RB Daniel Hill

Alabama landed a commitment from 2024 four-star running back Daniel Hill on Saturday afternoon during the Army All-American Bowl. Hill chose the Crimson Tide over Mississippi State and South Carolina.

Alabama is known for landing and helping produce some of the top running backs in the country. The Crimson Tide will have the opportunity to develop one of the nation’s top running back prospects. On Saturday, 2024 four-star running back Daniel Hill announced his commitment to Alabama. He made the announcement at the Army All-American Bowl.

Alabama hosted Hill for more than 20 visits. That was three times more than he visited any other school during the recruiting process.

Hill, a Mississippi native, chose the Crimson Tide over Mississippi State and South Carolina. The product of Meridian High School was a workhorse for the Wildcats during his high school career. He played quarterback, running back, and wide receiver.

All signs point toward Hill playing running back when he arrives in Tuscaloosa.

Three future Tar Heels playing in All-American Bowl today

Jordan Shipp, Ashton Woods and Andrew Rosinski are all coming to play football at UNC next Fall. They’re playing in a big game today.

If you thought this year was a tough one for the UNC football team, next year has the potential to be even more difficult.

The Tar Heels started 2023 off with a 6-0 record and quarterback Drake Maye playing like a Heisman Trophy contender, then lost five out of their final seven games to end a once-promising season.

2024 looked bleak at once, with both Maye and start wide receiver Devontez Walker opting for the NFL Draft, but Carolina hopes to offset those those with a couple transfer portal additions. UNC’s most notable addition is Texas A&M transfer Max Johnson, who once played at LSU and is expected to compete with Conner Harrell for the starting quarterback gig.

There’s also some much-needed, Class of 2024 recruits coming into Chapel Hill next season – three of whom you can watch on TV today.

Starting at 1 p.m. ET, wide receiver Jordan Shipp, offensive tackle Andrew Rosinski and linebacker Ashton Woods are playing in the All-American Bowl.

Woods will be key on the defensive unit, which is expected to be revamped with the recent hiring of defensive coordinator Geoff Collins. Cedric Gray was a mainstay at linebacker over the past three seasons – if he leaves, Woods could slide into a starting role.

Shipp will join what’s expected to be a deep receiving corps, as Walker was the only senior or graduate student. Georgia Tech transfer Nate McCollum, who enjoyed two 100-yard games for the Tar Heels last year, will be expected to take a huge leap in Senior year.

With UNC’s 2023 starting left tackle Diego Pounds recently entering his name in the transfer portal, Rosinski might be the most important recruit of this trio. He’s a 6’5″, 253-lbs. tackle who will only grow as he ages, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him starting for Carolina next season.

Sooners signee wins Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year

Oklahoma Sooners signee Andy Bass wins Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year after an incredible senior season at Heritage Hall.

The Oklahoma Sooners added one of the best offensive players in the country when they earned the signature of three-star athlete Andy Bass.

Bass, who played quarterback for Heritage Hall, was incredibly productive, showing off his dual-threat ability with an explosive senior season. For his efforts, Andy Bass was named Oklahoma’s Gatorade Player of the Year for 2023.

Bass completed 66% of his passes for 3,144 yards, 35 touchdowns and two interceptions. He ran for 1,478 yards and 30 touchdowns, averaging 10.7 yards per carry.

At Oklahoma, Bass will be in the running back room, but he also will see time at wide receiver. He’s a dynamic athlete who can create huge plays.

Sooners [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] and [autotag]Kyler Murray[/autotag] won Texas and National Gatorade Player of the Year awards. [autotag]Gavin Sawchuk[/autotag] was a two-time Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year.

5 takeaways from the Sooners 38-24 loss to Arizona in the Valero Alamo Bowl

5 takeaways from the Oklahoma Sooners season-ending loss to the Arizona Wildcats.

Team 129 had one final chance to play together on Thursday night in San Antonio. Brent Venables’ team tried to make the best of it, but it finished the 2023 season by losing to the No. 14 Arizona Wildcats, 38-24. Oklahoma ended its season 10-3.

The game was incredibly entertaining if nothing else. It had some head-scratching moments that will stick with fans for the next few weeks into the offseason.

Jackson Arnold was up and down, as one might expect for a freshman. He showcased some real talent and things that his coaches would love to build on in the offseason. He also made some decisions that someone who had fewer than 100 snaps in real game action would make.

Turnovers ultimately did the Sooners in. One of their six on the evening turnovers was returned for a touchdown.

In the wake of the Sooners’ loss, here are five takeaways:

2024 Alabama-signee QB Julian Sayin is already on campus

2024 Alabama football signee Julian Sayin is already in Tuscaloosa with his future teammates.

The 2024 early signing period has passed and Alabama landed some highly-touted recruits, including five-star quarterback Julian Sayin. A recent TikTok shared by Crimson Tide defensive back Terrion Arnold shows that Sayin is already in Tuscaloosa with the team.

Sayin chose the Tide over other big-name programs like Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and others.

Current quarterback Jalen Milroe recently announced that he would be returning for the 2024 season, which means he will remain at the helm of the Alabama offense for Sayin’s freshman season. The future, however, could belong to Sayin.

While he’s restricted in what he can do with the team, it is interesting to see him already be on campus, interacting with his future teammates. The quarterback position is the most important in football, so he must develop relationships with those around him.

2024 California four-star wide receiver Aaron Butler commits to Texas

Texas improved its 2024 receiver class in a big way with Aaron Butler’s commitment on Friday night.

Four-star wide receiver Aaron Butler has committed to the Texas Longhorns. The California product and No. 122 player in the 247Sports composite rankings joined the Longhorns’ already strong 2024 class on Friday night.

The big time player from Calabasas (CA) is a huge get for the Texas coaching staff and another significant win for Longhorns wide receiver coach Chris Jackson.

247Sports national scouting analyst Greg Biggins gave the following scouting report of Butler.

“Butler is a dangerous two-way player who could end up at corner or receiver in college. … He’s physical player and has a lot of nastiness in his game. Whether he’s blocking or jamming a receiver, he’s looking to physically dominate his opponent and will often stay on his block until he puts him in the ground or off the field.

As a receiver, he has really impressed and is a threat to score every time he touches the football. He plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulder and has an edge in his game that reminds us a little of former LB Poly and current NE Patriot DB Jack Jones. He needs to keep his emotions in check but his upside is extremely high.”

What seems clear is that Texas likely won’t lack at receiver for a long while. The team’s 2024 blue chip receiver class now includes three blue chip wide receivers in five-star receiver Ryan Wingo and composite four-stars in Butler, Freddie Dubose and Parker Livingstone.

The Longhorns will look to continue to develop receiver like they have in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s three seasons in Austin.
