The Irish will wear green in their showdown vs. Ohio State this September!
It’s going to be one of the biggest games Notre Dame Stadium has hosted in quite some time and it’ll be greeted with the Fighting Irish wearing green uniforms. Announced this St. Patrick’s Day, the Irish will wear green as they welcome Ohio State to South Bend on September 23.
Notre Dame very possibly will be a top 10 team to start the year. A quick look at their schedule says that they should be unbeaten headed into the showdown with the Buckeyes. Ohio State figures to be a preseason top-five team and unbeaten when late September comes around.

The longtime Packers QB intends to join the Jets; the Jets are already on the Cowboys’ home schedule for the upcoming season. | From @ToddBrock24f7
Aaron Rodgers may be done with the Packers, but he’s likely to remain a thorn in the Cowboys’ side for the immediate future, even playing in the AFC East.
The Green Bay quarterback confirmed on Wednesday that he intends to play for the Jets in 2023 and that it’s simply a matter of the two clubs working out trade details.
The Cowboys already know they’ll host the Jets at AT&T Stadium for one of their eight home dates in the upcoming regular season, and it’s the detail of when that will happen that’s bound to keep Dallas fans guessing until the schedule is released.
There are, of course, plenty of tantalizing possibilities for what will be the 13th all-time meeting (postseason included) between Rodgers and the Cowboys.
Of course, there’s the chance that a Mike McCarthy/Cowboys-Rodgers tilt could kick off the regular season slate for both teams with a Week 1 meeting, perhaps even as the Sunday night or Monday night opener.
If the Cowboys do not face the four-time league MVP on opening weekend, the eagerly-anticipated game would certainly have the makings of a slam-dunk primetime matchup.
But then again…
The Cowboys’ traditional Thanksgiving Day game could also be an option. Often the most-watched contest of the entire NFL season, the Cowboys’ usual late-afternoon Turkey Day timeslot may not need the extra gravy of a Rodgers rematch to be a ratings blockbuster, but it would certainly make for must-see TV (especially if both teams are still in the playoff hunt come late November).
Dallas already has nine marquee matchups against playoff squads- the 49ers, Bills, Dolphins, Seahawks, and Chargers, as well as their normal two-game sets with the Eagles and Giants- on the 2023 schedule.
But an otherwise ho-hum interconference date with the Jets suddenly becomes an unexpected clash of titans the moment a Rodgers trade becomes official.
Rodgers currently holds an 8-3 advantage in the series; he led the Packers to a 31-28 overtime win over Dallas when the two teams last met at Lambeau Field in Week 10 of 2022. Also of note, Rodgers won the only Super Bowl of his career at AT&T Stadium.
Two rematches for Alabama in the 2023 season are among the most highly-anticipated matchups of the season.
Alabama football’s 2022 season fell short of expectations and was disappointing to many fans. However, the reason for the Crimson Tide fans’ frustration would be cause for celebration to just about any other program in the nation.
With double-digit wins, a Sugar Bowl win against a conference champion, and a final ranking inside the top five, Nick Saban and Alabama were just fine. Though, missing out on the College Football Playoff spoiled it all.
Some close calls that ended in the Crimson Tide’s favor and two losses were to blame for the inability to make a conference championship or the College Football Playoff.
In 2023, Alabama will get to face both teams that handed the Tide losses, LSU and Tennessee, and will get an opportunity to take on Texas again after a near loss in Austin.
At No. 3 is ‘The Sarkisian Bowl.’ The second installment of the home-and-home series will take place in Tuscaloosa. This matchup is set to be a good one and set the stage for the Longhorns’ introduction to the SEC in 2024.
“The student is looking to defeat the teacher as Steve Sarkisian returns to Tuscaloosa with his Texas Longhorns. The place where he helped win a national championship in 2020,” writes Conn. “This is the first time that Texas steps foot in Tuscaloosa in over 120 years.
“The biggest questions for the Longhorns revolve around the quarterback situation. Quinn Ewers is the expectant starter but if he falters, could Arch Manning get inserted into the equation? Sark also needs to avoid the pitfalls of last year. They dropped all five games by single digits, including the one-point loss to Alabama in Austin.
“Head coach Nick Saban has his own questions to answer as they head into 2023. Bryce Young is leaving the Alabama Crimson Tide to play in the NFL. Former Texas Longhorns pledge Jalen Milroe should get the first shot as his replacement but he will have to fend off Ty Simpson and Eli Holstein. Not to mention Saban had to replace both coordinators, who left during the offseason.
“Can Texas avenge their only regular season loss to Alabama?”
At No. 5 on the list is ‘The Saban Bowl.’ A stunning loss on the road to LSU in 2022 essentially ended Alabama’s chances of making the College Football Playoff. This time around, the Tigers of Baton Rouge will be making the trip to Tuscaloosa. Brian Kelly will look to go back-to-back against Saban in his first two seasons as an SEC coach.
“The battle between the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers in 2022 was highly entertaining,” writes Conn. “The two offenses went back and forth until a gamble by Brian Kelly allowed the Bayou Bengals to get the upper hand last year. LSU decided to go for two and the win, rather than an extra point and overtime.
“LSU returns their starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was among the best newcomers in the SEC. He gave the team a boost at quarterback and Malik Nabers alongside Mason Taylor showed they could be weapons in the passing game. What do Mike Denbrock and the offense have in store for year two?
“The positive for Alabama is that they have time to get their team rolling before this early November matchup. They need to address the quarterback situation as well as replace the departing Jahmyr Gibbs. The team has a stable full of backs ready to take center stage including Jam Miller and Jase McClellan. Don’t forget about the freshmen, Justice Haynes and Richard Young.”

The 2022 season is in the rearview, and all eyes are set on what the 2023 season will hold for the Chargers.
Los Angeles knows who they will have to go through during the regular season as they look to make a potential deep run to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, NV.
The actual schedule that dictates the order of the games won’t be revealed until later this offseason.
Here’s a look at the 14 teams on next year’s list of opponents.
7 takeaways from the Oklahoma Sooners 2023 football schedule.
The delay in the Big 12 schedule created a lot of buzz for the conference in the buildup to the Monday release. In what could very well be the last season in the conference for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns, everyone eagerly anticipated what that final slate could look like for the Sooners.
But as Tom Petty said,
The waiting is the hardest part.
Every day you get one more yard. You take it on faith, you take it to the heart. The waiting is the hardest part.
Waiting on the schedule might just have been the hardest part for the Oklahoma Sooners. Because with the way things look right now, the Sooners might have gotten a favorable final season from the conference they’re departing.
The official Oklahoma Sooners 2023 football schedule.
The Oklahoma Sooners 2023 schedule is official with the release of the Big 12 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
The entrance of BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF, and the departure of Oklahoma and Texas provided intrigue to this years’ schedule release. Conference realignment disrupted the natural flow of home dates for the Big 12.
After some initial delay, first-year commissioner Brett Yormark has his first schedule in an expanded Big 12.
We’ve known the nonconference schedule for sometime, though there was an adjustment on the fly after Georgia and Oklahoma mutually agreed to cancel their nonconference home and home with the Sooners moving to the SEC in 2025 at the latest. Joe Castiglione replaced the Bulldogs with SMU on the fly to provide the Sooners a solid Group of Five foe.
With an expanded Big 12 for at least this season, here’s a look at the Oklahoma Sooners 2023 football schedule.
The Cowboys have played just 1 overseas game since the International Series began, but the stars are aligning for a possible return in 2023. | From @ToddBrock24f7
The NFL on Thursday released the list of five designated teams who will play overseas in 2023, and while the Cowboys haven’t been told to update their passports, there seems to be a decent chance they could be heading across the pond next season.
Germany will get two games next year, with exact locations still to be determined. The Chiefs are already set to appear in one of those games; the Patriots will play in the other. While Dallas is poised to take on new England in 2023, it’s already penciled in as a Cowboys home game in Arlington. With AFC squads set to have nine home games next season, they’ll be the “home team” in all international games. So it won’t be Dallas versus New England in Germany.
The Cowboys officially have Mexico as a marketing territory thanks to the league’s International Home Marketing Areas initiative, but there will be no game in that country next season as Estadio Azteca undergoes renovations.
London will host three contests, with the Jaguars slated to play once again at Wembley Stadium, and the Titans and Bills setting up temporary shop at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Of the Bills’ nine home opponents in 2023, two- New England and Jacksonville- are already hosting their own international games, and it’s hard to imagine the NFL making either club play a European twofer. The Giants and Broncos were just in London last year, and the Buccaneers just played a date in Germany. The Jets and Dolphins took the long flight recently, too: in 2021.
That leaves the Raiders and the Cowboys as the most obvious matchups for Buffalo in that Tottenham tilt.
Las Vegas has played internationally five times, and last did so in 2019.
But since the International Series began, the Cowboys have played just one game on foreign soil, and that was all the way back in 2014. Of the NFL’s 32 teams, only Pittsburgh has gone longer without an overseas trip.
There’s a lot of guesswork and assuming going on here, but it would certainly seem that the Cowboys are overdue for an international voyage.
And the stars have lined up to make it a very real possibility in 2023.
The Lions could play in Germany in 2023 as part of the NFL’s international outreach series
The NFL released the five teams that will “host” international games and where each of those teams will play. It opens the door for the Detroit Lions to perhaps have a game in Germany in 2023.
This year’s international schedule will have five AFC teams set to give up a home date to play across the Atlantic Ocean. The Bills, Jaguars, Patriots, Chiefs and Titans are those teams.
Detroit only has one road date slated against any of those teams: the Chiefs. It was also revealed that the Chiefs and the Patriots will host their overseas games in Germany.
The Jaguars will play at Wembley Stadium in London.
The Bills and Titans will play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
We’ve known for some time who Notre Dame will play in 2023 but had been waiting on a few specific dates as to when games would take place. We now have those for Notre Dame football in 2023 as the season starts in what has become Week 0. The Irish will play in front of the real Irish that week as they take on Navy in Dublin, Ireland. The season will feature a pair of bye weeks as a result of playing in Week 0, and concludes in Week 13 at Stanford.
Here is how Notre Dame announced their schedule release for the 2023 season on January 18:
I love the difficulty setting at the start, would have liked to see the ball carrier do something besides run straight ahead throughout, but appreciate the effort in making it something more than just a graphic with opponents names and logos.
The Cowboys have some tough road opponents on their 2023 schedule, as the regular season’s conclusion sets things in stone. | From @KDDrummondNFL
The Dallas Cowboys’ regular season ended on a sour note, but there are still playoff possibilities for the boys in silver and blue. For the 937th year in a row (actually 19th), the NFC East has a new reigning champion as the Cowboys were unable to defend their 2022 title despite having the same final record. 12-5 wasn’t enough as the Philadelphia Eagles finished 14-3 to win both the division and the conference.
Finishing second in the NFC East finalizes the list of opponents Dallas will face in 2023. The actual schedule won’t be revealed until March, but here’s a look at the 14 different opponents the club will square off with.
