The 2023 class featured nine players inside the 247Sports final Top247 for the 2023 class, and all nine were inside the top 125 and six inside the top 100.

Armed with a top-five group in 2023 and the No. 8 class in the 2022 cycle, the Sooners have laid the foundation for success as they prepare for a future in the SEC.

Oklahoma signee Samuel Omosigho among On3’s biggest risers in latest update

Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Samuel Omosigho tabbed as one of the biggest risers in the final update in the On300 rankings.

Several members of Oklahoma’s 2023 recruiting class had fantastic years prior to signing with the Sooners.

Their work in the offseason led to tremendous senior seasons. For [autotag]Adepoju Adebawore[/autotag] and [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] that work earned them five-star status. [autotag]Samuel Omosigho[/autotag], who was considered a three-star prospect at the time of his commitment, has seen his stock rise dramatically over the last 10 months.

Omosigho earned four-star status and has become a fringe top-50 prospect in the nation, according to the latest On300 update. Omosigho rose from No. 100 to No. 52, making him one of the biggest risers in the country in the latest rankings.

As a prospect from smaller town where he was asked to play multiple positions on both sides of the ball, we needed to see Samuel Omosigho’s ability to play off-ball linebacker with our own eyes and see how he handled the increase in speed of the game. At the All-American Bowl he proved that the game was not too fast for him, and he showed the willingness to stick his head into traffic and get physical with some of the top prospects in the country. – Cody Bellaire, On3 Scouting and Rankings Assistant

Playing in the All-American Bowl, Omosigho impressed Parker Thune of OUInsider at 247Sports.

“He is perhaps the most physically ready player that I witnessed at the All-American Bowl,” Thune shared on the “Locked on Sooners” podcast. “Especially when you limit that query to the linebacker position and you took stock of the linebackers that were there. … Sammy Omosigho looks like a guy that could show up and instantly play Power Five football.”

With as young as the linebacker room is at Oklahoma, it wouldn’t that surprising to see Omosigho earn snaps early in his Sooners career. If he’s able to keep a similar trajectory to the one he’s been on over the last year, the sky is the limit.

Oklahoma’s well-represented with nine players in the On3 On300, including two in the top 10 and three in the top 15. The Alabama Crimson Tide are the only other program with multiple top 10 prospects signed in 2023 with three.

Armed with 16 blue-chip prospects and 10 on the defensive side of the ball, this collection of players has a chance to be a transformational group for Oklahoma.

Here’s a look at the players that landed in the On300.

4 Oklahoma signees featured in SI99 final rankings for 2023

Four Oklahoma Sooners signees inside Sports Illustrated’s final SI99 for the 2023 recruiting cycle.

With all-star games done, the early signing period closed and the calendar flipped to a new year, the class of 2023 closes its high school chapter. A host of prospects prepare to enroll midyear while others will wait to join their college programs during the summer.

With games completed, final evaluations are coming in. Recruiting services have begun to unveil their final rankings for the class of 2023. Sports Illustrated got the ball rolling with its postseason SI99 prospect rankings, which included four Oklahoma Sooners signees.

Oklahoma signed its most complete class in years. While it leans more to the defensive side of the ball, the Sooners have some high-quality offensive prospects. That’s reflected in their four signees named in the SI99 rankings.

P.J. Adebawore, Lewis Carter shine brightest at Under-Armour All-American game

Oklahoma had seven signees in the Under-Armour All-American game. PJ Adebawore and Lewis Carter stood out for the Sooners.

The future of Oklahoma Football was on full display Tuesday evening as seven Oklahoma signees took the field in Orlando for the Under-Armour All-American game.

Jackson Arnold, Jaquaize Pettaway, Cayden Green, PJ Adebawore, Jacobe Johnson, Lewis Carter, and Peyton Bowen represented the Crimson & Cream at the all-star event for Team Speed.

Five-star QB Jackson Arnold dominated all week during the practices and earned captain status and was the starter for Team Speed. Arnold was under duress much of the game but threw a dart for a touchdown to Utah WR commit Mikey Matthews. Four-star offensive lineman Cayden Green pancaked an opposing defender which gave Arnold the bit of time he needed to get the pass off.

Arnold showed why he is considered one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation as he ripped off multiple runs via scramble or zone-read. The only blemish for Arnold will be the interception he threw that was tipped by DL Peter Woods of Team Phantom before being intercepted by four-star Texas signee Derek Williams.

Defensively is where the Sooners shined the brightest. Four-star LB signee Lewis Carter and five-star EDGE AdepojuAdebawore were everywhere for Team Speed.

Adebawore recorded a sack and had multiple other pressures while Lewis Carter pressured the quarterback on blitzes and did an excellent job making tackles running sideline to sideline.

Adebawore made a strong case for being the second-best player on the field behind fellow five-star and Clemson signee Peter Woods.

On the backend, four-star signee Jacobe Johnson, a homegrown Sooner, had a great rep in coverage.

All in all, it was a nice showing from some of Oklahoma’s stars of tomorrow. Oklahoma has two other commits playing in the All-American bowl in San Antonio. Four-star CB Jasiah Wagoner and four-star linebacker Samuel Omosigho wrapping up the all-star game circuit for Oklahoma’s 2023 class.

How to watch future Sooners in Under Armour All-American game?

Seven Oklahoma Sooners’ signees are set to take part in Under Armour All-American Game, and here’s how to watch.

Oklahoma’s future will be on display in the 2023 Under Armour All-American game on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Jackson Arnold, Adepoju Adebawore, Cayden Green, Jaquaize Pettaway, Jacobe Johnson, Lewis Carter, and Peyton Bowen will all take part in the annual all-star game.

Seven of Oklahoma’s 16 blue-chip signees will provide a sneak preview of their talents before heading to Norman to begin their college careers in earnest.

The Sooners have had several players stand out in this week’s practice, but perhaps none have been better than Adebawore. His speed, strength, and bend have stood out in individual drills against the nation’s top offensive linemen. The five-star edge rusher has all the tools to be an elite player at the collegiate level.

Armed with a top-five recruiting class in 2023, the Sooners have a group of players that will be a part of the foundation of Oklahoma’s future. From the top of the signees list down to the lowest-rated player, the Sooners have added a bunch of talent in the 2023 cycle.

Some of the best in Oklahoma’s signing class will have a chance to show Sooners fans why they were so highly regarded before they ever step foot on campus in the Under Armour All-American Game.

Ranking Oklahoma’s last 10 recruiting classes

Ranking the Oklahoma Sooners last 10 recruiting classes.

The Oklahoma Sooners closed the early signing period of the 2023 cycle with a ton of momentum, earning a last-second flip of five-star safety [autotag]Peyton Bowen[/autotag]. Bowen joined Guyer teammate [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] and edge rusher [autotag]Adepoju Adebawore[/autotag] in the 2023 class to give the Sooners three five-star players for the cycle.

It was a huge recruiting haul for [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] and his staff, who worked their way into the top five of the 247Sports recruiting class composite. This class has Venables fingerprints all over it with a heavy emphasis on the defensive side of the ball.

The Sooners ended up with 16 four- and five-star signees, and 10 of those came on the defensive side. Six were defensive backs, two were linebackers, and two were defensive linemen. The three-star players they signed on defense can play. [autotag]Taylor Wein[/autotag], [autotag]Markus Strong[/autotag], [autotag]Ashton Sanders[/autotag], [autotag]Phil Picciotti[/autotag] and [autotag]Erik McCarty[/autotag] are athletic players with high motors. Each has a chance to outperform his recruiting status.

It was an historic class for the Sooners, marking just the second time in the 247Sports database (since 2000) that they signed multiple five-star defensive players, and only the second time they had three five-star signees. Looking back, let’s take a look at how it stacks up with the last 10 recruiting classes for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Where do the Sooners rank in 247Sports team recruiting after the early signing period?

With three 5-star signees, where do the Oklahoma Sooners land in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings after the early signing period?

The Oklahoma Sooners shocked the world on Thursday when they pulled off the improbable flip of Peyton Bowen on Day 2 of the early signing period. Perhaps just as surprising, the Sooners earned signatures from each player that was committed in the build-up to the early signing period.

No flips away from Oklahoma. No last-minute decommits. All positive for Brent Venables and his staff in Norman.

Now the Sooners have one of the best-recruiting classes in the country. With three five-star signees: Jackson Arnold, Peyton Bowen, and Adepoju Adebawore, the Sooners are tied for the most five-star signees in the recruiting cycle.

So how do they stack up in the latest team recruiting rankings after the early signing period, according to 247Sports? Let’s take a look.
