Report: Louisville pass rusher YaYa Diaby to visit Jaguars

The Jaguars are reportedly bringing in Louisville’s YaYa Diaby for a visit.

Louisville Cardinals pass rusher YaYa Diaby is scheduled to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, according to a report from Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network. Diaby will also reportedly visit the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

Diaby was a late bloomer who wasn’t recruited in high school and instead landed at Georgia Military College. After adding weight and size during his time in the junior college ranks, Diaby transferred to Louisville where he continued his upward trajectory.

In 2022, Diaby racked up 14 tackles for loss and nine sacks for the Cardinals.

At the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, Diaby was one of the standouts among defensive lineman with a 4.51 40-yard dash and 37-inch vertical at 263 pounds. His 33 7/8-inch arms also fit the mold that Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke typically looks for in a pass rusher.

Diaby was projected to be picked by the Jaguars in the fourth round in a mock draft from ESPN’s Jordan Reid published last week.

10 impact NFL draft prospects to consider at the Eagles biggest under-the-radar position of need

We’re looking at ten wide receiver prospects for the Philadelphia Eagles to consider in round two or three of the 2023 NFL Draft

The Eagles have one of the top wide receiver duos in the NFL, but the depth behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith leaves much to be desired.

Quez Watkins is the No. 3 wideout and a talented deep threat, but he has flaws and is coming off a down 2022 season,

Still, if the season started today, either Britain Covey, Tyrie Cleveland, Greg Ward, or Devon Allen would be the fourth option on the outside.

We recently looked at five potential options from the 2023 crop of free-agent wide receivers, but the pickings are slim, and the production is questionable going forward.

Philadelphia should address the position in the NFL draft, while a talented veteran looking to play for a winning organization could also add value.

With the NFL draft less than a month away, here are ten wide receivers to consider at the Eagles’ most significant under-the-radar position of need.

5 takeaways from the Oklahoma Sooners performance at the NFL Scouting Combine

Five takeaways from Oklahoma Sooners at the 2023 NFL Scouting combine.

One of the biggest weekends for the football world just came to completion. This weekend served as a massive evaluation tool for determining the future of the next stars of the NFL.

Oklahoma has no shortage of stars in the pro ranks at the moment but has the opportunity for a number of players to hear their names called in April.

Seven Sooners made the trek to Indianapolis to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine.

The Oklahoma Sooners, as a whole, put on a fine display of athleticism as multiple players put up great testing numbers. Social media was set ablaze watching [autotag]Anton Harrison[/autotag], [autotag]Marvin Mims[/autotag], and [autotag]Jalen Redmond[/autotag] test. With the combine over, these former Sooners will begin preparing for their pro day.

Here are five takeaways about the Oklahoma Sooners from the NFL Scouting Combine.

USC offensive lineman Andrew Vorhees posted 38 reps on the bench after tearing ACL at the combine

Vorhees led all prospects regardless of position in bench reps this weekend.

Andrew Vorhees found himself in a nightmare scenario at the NFL scouting combine this weekend.

The former USC offensive tackle was seen as a likely early Day 3 pick entering the weekend, but he suffered a knee injury while going through workouts on Sunday. A Monday meeting with doctors confirmed the worst fears, as Vorhees tore his ACL per a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

It’s both rare and devastating to suffer an injury this serious at the combine, but the turn of events didn’t stop Vorhees from turning in an absolutely unthinkable performance on the bench on Sunday shortly after suffering the injury.

Wearing his recently acquired leg brace, Vorhees record 38 bench reps, which was the most of any prospect at the combine, at any position.

It’s a truly impressive display of perseverance the likes of which we rarely see even in a sport as physically demanding as football. Rehabbing from an ACL tear is no joke, and the timetable for such a recovery will almost certainly extend well into his rookie season.

Vorhees played six seasons with the Trojans, primarily starting as a right guard during his time in college, though he saw starts at left guard and left tackle, as well.

This injury could have an impact on his draft stock and cause him to fall, but Vorhees still managed to impress in the capacity he was able to participate this weekend.

Philip Rivers considered a 2022 comeback with Dolphins, 49ers if you believe combine rumors

Does Rivers have something left in the tank?

Former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers has spent two seasons away from the league, but according to the rumor mill at last week’s NFL scouting combine, he was mulling a potential return as recently as late last season.

Rivers, who turned 41 in December, last played in the 2020 season for the Indianapolis Colts after spending 16 years with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers. He was seemingly content with retired life and has spent the last two years as the head coach at St. Michael’s Catholic High School in Fairhope, Alabama.

But according to NFL Network radio host Rich Eisen, Rivers may be antsy to get back in the pads. Eisen said that he heard from multiple sources at the combine that Rivers reached out to both the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers late last season about potentially coming out of retirement.

“I heard at the combine… that Philip Rivers contacted both of them to come back late last year,” Eisen said on his show. “Which is what I heard and the way I heard it. Didn’t happen, don’t know why it didn’t happen. But I heard that at the combine.”

If Rivers had ultimately returned to the league last season, either of those landing spots would have made a good deal of sense. Due to injuries, both were down to their third-string quarterbacks for playoff runs, most notably San Francisco’s Brock Purdy, who nearly led the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance as a rookie and reigning Mr. Irrelevant.

Ultimately, it didn’t work out, and there’s no reason to think Rivers is still pondering a potential return. But there are certainly a number of quarterback-needy teams this offseason, and there’s a chance he’d have some suitors if he were to explore a comeback this offseason.

15 players who needed to crush the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine – and did

Anthony Richardson and Nolan Smith were clear winners in Indy. But don’t sleep on Andrei Iosivas, Zack Kuntz or Sydney Brown, either.

The NFL’s annual Scouting Combine won’t make or break a player’s pro career. It can, conversely, drastically affect his draft stock.

The week-long string of interviews, measurements and workouts is an opportunity for players to answer questions about their talent and character. But mostly it’s a chance for scouts and NFL decision makers to salivate over 40-yard dash times and analyze drills with an overzealous capacity once reserved for TiVo’ed episodes of Lost in its heyday.

For some players, the combine is where cracks in their games widen. Others will use the workouts to prove they’re capable of shining on Sundays. The 15 players featured below all had questions to answer about their talent and each shined en route to significant bumps up expert rankings and mock drafts as the 2023 NFL Draft begins to come into focus.

Let’s talk about the guys who helped themselves the most — in no particular order but starting with the week’s unquestioned biggest winner.

Eagles draft prospects: 10 players that impressed at the NFL scouting combine

We’re looking at 10 potential Philadelphia Eagles NFL draft targets that impressed the most at the 2023 scouting combine

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine is a wrap, and while players improved their stock greatly, we’re looking at ten potential Eagles fits that impressed the most.

With Philadelphia potentially targeting a running back in April’s draft, names like Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Zach Charbonnet were on display.

On the defensive side of the football, Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, T.J. Edwards, Kyzir White, James Bradberry, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Marcus Epps are all slated for free agency. It won’t be possible for the Eagles to bring them all back, especially once Jalen Hurts signs his new deal.

Philadelphia could look to draft a cornerback and safety with multiple free agents in the secondary.
