Trio of Panthers defenders get push from fans in 2022 Pro Bowl voting

Haason Reddick, who has won the fans over at the NFC’s OLB spot, is one step closer to the 2022 Pro Bowl.

Congratulations, Panthers fans. Your tireless balloting and tweeting has paid off for three of your favorite players!

Oh, and congratulations to the actual three players who earned themselves that recognition. One of which was Haason Reddick, who garnered the most fan votes at the NFC’s outside linebacker spot for the upcoming 2022 Pro Bowl.

Reddick, in his first year with Carolina, currently ranks fourth in the conference with 11.0 sacks. He also leads the Panthers in quarterback hits (18) and is tied with a certain someone for forced fumbles (two).

That certain someone is fellow pass-rushing extraordinaire Brian Burns, who finished second amongst defensive ends in the voting. The 2019 first-round pick is pacing Carolina in pressures (45) and tackles for a loss (13) to go alongside his 9.0 sacks on the campaign.

Joining them in the top fives of their respective groups is cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore, fourth at his position, has apparently impressed over his seven games in 2021—where he’s totaled two interceptions while allowing 10 receptions for 80 yards over 14 targets, according to Pro Football Focus.

This weekend marked the official end of fan balloting, which counts as one-third of the total vote. Those will be factored in with votes from players and coaches, with the Pro Bowl teams set to be announced on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.

Washington defensive tackle Jonathan Allen is having an All-Pro season. Yes, All-Pro season. Sure, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is the best interior defender in the NFL, and that’s not up for debate. But Allen could make his claim as the next best defensive tackle in 2021.

The stats — and the film — back up that statement.

In his fifth season out of Alabama, Allen signed a four-year extension in the offseason and is already proving that was money well spent.  Now, Washington fans should help get Allen to his first Pro Bowl.

How can Washington fans ensure Allen is in the Pro Bowl?

Go to Twitter, and retweet this tweet from Allen, as each retweet counts as a vote.

What if you don’t have a Twitter account? No problem. Follow this link to vote for Allen.

Allen has six sacks on the season, and in the games where he doesn’t put up big numbers, he’s making life miserable for the opposition’s offensive line.

Panthers’ Haason Reddick amongst initial leaders in Pro Bowl voting

The first returns for 2022 Pro Bowl voting are in and the Panthers have themselves some representation in Haason Reddick.

Not enough folks noticed what Haason Reddick did last year, when he racked up 12.5 sacks in a campaign worthy of a bit more recognition. Well, he’s doing it again and, this time, they’ve noticed.

The Carolina Panthers have themselves an early leading vote-getter for the 2022 Pro Bowl in Reddick, who currently sits atop the NFC’s outside linebacker spot. The fifth-year pass rusher, in the initial return of results, has collected himself 40,225 ballots through one week of voting.

Reddick’s certainly earned it, too—as he also sits atop the conference in sacks (10.5) through 11 weeks of play. The former 13th overall pick, additionally, has sprinkled in 50 combined tackles—with a whopping 12 of those coming for a loss—alongside 16 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles.

In an intriguing twist of sorts, former Panthers linebacker (and by former, we mean for about a few months without actually having played a real snap on the team) Denzel Perryman landed himself amongst the leaderboard as well. Perryman, who was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for a pittance back in August, leads the AFC in tackles (114).

Nonetheless, the Panthers boast some early representation and it’s definitely well-deserved.
