Stock up, stock down following start of Bills training camp

Stock report following the start of Buffalo Bills training camp 2020.

WR Robert Foster

Once a guy that could’ve been pegged as a steal of a UDFA signing by Buffalo, Robert Foster is on the verge of being cut. It’s tough to say, though. That’s because it’s due to bad practices or effort, but Foster has spent almost all of camp sidelined due to a concussion. He’s back recently, but still in a non-contact jersey.

That, combined with us mentioning several wideouts in the “stock rising” section of this, leaves Foster in a terrible position to make the final roster. But because of that hot start he had to his career in 2018, is there a chance that Foster fetches Buffalo something via the trade market toward the end of camp?

S Jaquan Johnson

In his brief NFL career, Jaquan Johnson essentially only has played special teams. In 2019, he played in 43 percent of Buffalo’s special teams snaps via 13 game appearances. But he’s got a lot more competition there now. Linebacker Tyler Matakevich is their new ace on teams, but special teams coordinator Heath Farwell has also mentioned running back Taiwan Jones and fellow depth safety Siran Neal as other impressive guys for the third phase of the game.

Furthermore, Dean Marlowe has stood out as the Bills’ best No. 3 safety again behind Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. It might just be too steep of a hill to climb since Johnson has been so quiet defensively and on special teams so far in camp. The one edge he has over guys like linebackers Vosean Joseph and Tyrel Dodson via special teams? He actually did play last season, so he has game experience.
