Stock up, stock down following start of Bills training camp

Stock report following the start of Buffalo Bills training camp 2020.

Bills rookie cornerback Cam Lewis keeps his eye on the ball during practice.

CB Cam Lewis

Buffalo’s local product from the University at Buffalo has had help both on and off the field to improve his sitting. First, in his own right, he has had some standout practices. Just on Monday, he recorded a pass breakup then forced a fumble. Two strong plays. But from others, Lewis has had help.

It appears Josh Norman should be good to go by the regular season. However, the Bills did workout three cornerbacks just this week. Norman is dealing with an hamstring issue, which would boost Lewis up the depth chart. What automatically boosted him up was rookie UDFA Ike Brown surprisingly retiring this week. Lewis might have already had the edge on Brown performance wise, but now he certainly does…

P Corey Bojorquez

Of the two kicking battles unfolding at Bills training camp, the one that’s been pretty clear-cut so far is the punting one. Incumbent Corey Bojorquez quickly already won his first battle against Kaare Vedvik, who’s been released and signed with the Panthers. Now the Bills brought in another international punter, this time Lachlan Edwards, and various early reports on that new battle, including The Athletic, indicate that Bojorquez has the early advantage. Bojorquez also is a lefty kicker, which causes a different spin on the ball for returners than they’re used to. You know Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott will take any edge he can get, including that.
