Sporting News names Wyatt Davis and Shaun Wade First-Team All-Americans

Ohio State football players Shaun Wade and Wyatt Davis were both named first-team All-Americans by the Sporting News Tuesday.

For the second time this week, the Ohio State football duo of Wyatt Davis and Shaun Wade were named to an All-American Team. According to a release from the Sporting News, the offensive lineman and defensive back were recognized as first-team All-Americans Tuesday.

Davis and Wade were named as Associated Press first-teamers on Monday. Both need to just make one more All-American team and they can both be considered consensus first-team All-Americans.

The two weren’t the only players recognized on Tuesday by the Sporting News. Both defensive tackle Haskell Garrett and center Josh Myers were named to the second-team.

In case you were wondering, there are five agencies that are used for purposes of being considered a consensus All-American. Along with the Associated Press and the Sporting News, the other three are the Football Writers Association (FWAA), the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

In the meantime, Wade, Davis, and the rest of their teammates continue preparations for the Sugar Bowl that’s scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Friday night.
