“If you can shoot, you can shoot. It doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl.”
That’s a statement that Oregon Ducks legend Sabrina Ionescu backed up on Saturday night at All-Star Weekend, going toe-to-toe with Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, arguably the greatest shooter in the history of the sport.
Ionescu held her own in the three-point contest, ultimately losing 29-26 in the one-round event that came down to the final couple of shots.
Sabrina went first in the contest, hitting her first 8 shots and getting out to a blistering pace. She ultimately made 19 shots, and her 26 points were as many as any of the NBA players scored in the three-point contest earlier in the night, won by Damian Lillard.
Of course, Curry came in and lit it up, ultimately winning the first-ever NBA vs. WNBA three-point competition.
Judging by the reaction from fans on social media, it certainly won’t be the last.
