Six Longhorns projected in first two rounds of Chad Reuter’s mock draft

Xavier Worthy is the first Longhorn off the board in Chad Reuter’s four-round mock draft.

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter published his updated four-round mock draft on Friday.

Six Longhorns were projected to be selected within the first two rounds. Speedy wide receiver Xavier Worthy was the first Texas player off the board at No. 19 overall to the Kansas City Chiefs. Reuter projected the Chiefs to trade up in the first round to upgrade their receiving corps.

Defensive tackle Byron Murphy was the next Texas player projected at No. 25 overall to the Buffalo Bills in the first round. Reuter’s projection is a bit lower on Murphy than many other mock drafts, who typically expect him to be selected in the teens.

T’Vondre Sweat, Adonai Mitchell, Ja’Tavion Sanders and Jonathon Brooks were projected in the second round.

The 2024 NFL draft begins on Thursday, April 25 in Detroit.
