The San Francisco Giants (15-18) and Philadelphia Phillies (22-11) play the 2nd game of a 4-game series Saturday. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is slated for 6:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Giants vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Phillies lead 1-0
The Phillies won their series opener with the Giants 4-3 Friday night. LF Brandon Marsh‘s 2-RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd gave Philadelphia the lead, and it never looked back. Starter Aaron Nola struggled with control, issuing 4 walks over his 4 innings of work. That tied his season high for free passes in a game. The Phillies have won 7 of their last 8 games.
This was easily the worst start of the season for Giants RHP Jordan Hicks, allowing 4 runs (2 ER) over 4 innings in Philadelphia Friday night. The only offense for San Francisco came from 2B Thairo Estrada‘s 2-RBI double in the top of the 2nd inning. The Giants are now 1-3 to begin their 10-game road trip.

Giants at Phillies picks and predictions
Prediction
Phillies 4, Giants 1
Moneyline.
PASS.
I love the Phillies (-190) to win this game, but I’d rather take the plus odds on the run line than put down nearly 2 units.
Run line/Against the spread
BET PHILLIES -1.5 (+110).
San Francisco has not been getting it done away from the Bay, sitting with a 6-10 road record and sub-.300 OBP. It has also struggled against southpaws, sporting a record of 3-5 on the season. That fact is compounded knowing that it faces one of the best lefties in MLB thus far in Saurez. The dude has allowed just 3 earned runs all season at Citizens Bank Park.
Philadelphia owns a 14-5 record against right-handers this season and hasn’t lost in May yet.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 7.5 (-115).
I fully expect this game to be a pitching duel. Suarez has not allowed more than 1 run in his last 4 starts, while Winn has not allowed more than 2 runs in his last 4.
The Phillies’ bats have been quiet recently, going Under in 2 straight, but San Francisco’s offense has been in the freezer for well over a week now, going Under in 6 of its last 7.
