Report Card: Grading LSU’s loss against Auburn

After suffering the program’s worst defeat since 1996, there was plenty of blame to go around for LSU after its loss at Auburn.

Wide Receivers: C

It can be difficult to criticize wide receivers when the quarterback was under pressure all game long. Finley was never able to get in sync with any of his wide receivers, but Johnson found some room to find his targets. Arik Gilbert and Racey McMath caught all but one of the targets sent their way, with Gilbert being the main cog in the offense in the fourth quarter.

Auburn did a fine job taking out Mississippi’s top target two weeks ago, and managed to do the same to Terrace Marshall Jr. The SEC’s leader in average receiving yards per game saw his average go down a bit in this game with four receptions for 28 yards.
