Report Card: Grading LSU’s loss against Auburn

After suffering the program’s worst defeat since 1996, there was plenty of blame to go around for LSU after its loss at Auburn.

Running Backs: F

If there was one area where LSU should have been able to thrive against Auburn, and that seemed to be on the ground. After rushing for over 200 yards as a team last week against South Carolina, and against the SEC’s 12th-ranked rushing defense, LSU managed to pick up just 32 yards as a team.

John Emery led the team with 21 yards on nine carries, and Tyrion Davis-Price had zero rushing yards on three attempts. Auburn pulling away in the middle of the game likely took LSU’s running game out of the equation. Then again, Auburn’s defense didn’t make anything easy on the ground either.
