Report card: Bills outlast Steelers, 17-10

The Bills are playoff bound after their victory of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a victory where the Bills relied on their stout defense.

The special teams had a good game on Sunday, starting with kicker Stephen Hauschka. Have we seen the return of Hausch-Money? He was 1-for-1 on the night, continuing he streak from Baltimore where he was 3-for-3. Punter Corey Bojorquez had six punts on the night, with three of them landing inside the 20 yard line of the Steelers.

The biggest issue was that the unit was penalized the first came on the opening kickoff, and the second came from a Lorenzo Alexander block in the back on a punt return. Return man Andre Roberts wasn’t overly good as well, taking some returns out of the end zone that might’ve been better off as a knee.

Coaching: B-

Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and head coach Sean McDermott had their defensive playing lights out, again. They contained elusive running back, James Conner, to 42 rushing yards. They also made Duck Hodges look like a rookie quarterback.

Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, had another rough game. The offense never seemed to get going, and there was suspect play calling in the red zone. BillsMafia has grown wary of Daboll, and it seems that fans may be calling for the resignation of the offensive coordinator. It’s been a roller coaster type of season for Daboll.
