Former Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs has quickly made a name for himself in the NFL, especially in Dallas.

Diggs, who was a 2nd round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has impressed fans, coaches, media, and even teammates with his skill set and talent this season.

The Cowboys may only be in their second game of the season, but Diggs has certainly proven to be a bright spot on the Cowboys’ defense.

Even Cowboys head Coach Mike McCarthy had positive things to say about Diggs earlier this week in an interview:

“But the reality is I don’t have any hesitations on playing the young man, and no disrespect to Julio or any of the (Falcons’) receivers. He’s earned a starting position at corner for so many good reasons. He’ll line up and play and the game will unfold the way it does. But he’s a very impressive young man. He’s off to a good start.

Outside of his obvious high skill set to play the position and the physical measurables, the thing that I’m so impressed with off his college tape and he’s brought it here to Dallas is he has such a patience and calmness to him when he’s in coverage.”

A good start indeed.

So far this season, Diggs has recorded 9 tackles (8 solo), and 1 defended pass.

Simply put, Diggs is off to an impressive start.

So much so, that fans and media were raving about his game on Sunday against the Falcons on Twitter.

Justin isn’t wrong here. Diggs IS going to be special for sure!

NFL reporter Jane Slater agrees.

It’s truly mindblowing that Diggs was a second-round pick. He’s proof it doesn’t matter where you’re drafted. You just have to go out there and prove yourself.

Diggs finished the 2019 season with 37 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, and a touchdown.
