This offseason has been a roller coaster for the Texas football program.
Unfortunately, Sunday appears to be one of the low days. Anwar Richardson of Orange Bloods officially confirmed the news that freshman wide receiver Troy Omeire has torn his ACL.
Texas freshman receiver Troy Omeire tore his ACL during Saturday's scrimmage and is out indefinitely, according to my sources. Omeire was a major standout during training camp and expected to contribute this season.

Omeire has been a pleasant surprise. There has been nonstop buzz surrounding him during fall camp this past week as he’s stood out among the entire position group. His tall, physical frame looks the part and he came in ready to compete for a significant role in this offense.
Omeire showcased several acrobatic catches throughout practices and quickly caught the eyes of the coaching staff. He was expected to contribute for the Longhorns immediately as a true freshman.

He was a four-star prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class and a top 40 player in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports Composite.
It’s unclear whether it was a partial or full tear of the ACL at this point. Omeire suffered the injury during Texas’ first scrimmage and is expected to miss the full season.
After what we’ve seen throughout his short time wearing the burnt orange, his comeback will be greater than this setback.
