The Mayakoba Golf Classic at El Camaleon Golf Club began Friday, a day late thanks to inclement weather that totally washed out play on Thursday.

With 36 holes remaining, players will go as long as they can Sunday before darkness, and the 72-hole event will conclude Monday. Even with the new policy of top 65 and ties making the cut, 82 players advanced to the final two rounds.

WATCH: Nic Claxton starts Nets fastbreak, finishes it emphatically

Nets rookie Nic Claxton did everything he could to provide Brooklyn with a lift in the first half against the Chicago Bulls.

After jumping out to an early lead over the Chicago Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets saw their lead slip away in the second quarter. Chicago eventually took a double-digit lead, but the Nets cut it to six points by the half.

Almost everyone made costly mistakes for Brooklyn in the first two quarters, leading to the deficit. However, there were some who provided the Nets with a lift, minimizing the gap to six points at halftime.

Among those who did well was Nic Claxton. He wasn’t originally part of Brooklyn’s regular rotations to start the season, but ever since DeAndre Jordan missed a game due to an ankle sprain, the Nets rookie has had his number called on multiple occasions.

And Claxton continues to take advantage of the opportunities he’s been given.

Going into the half, Claxton had six points to his name on 3-for-5 shooting (0-for-3 from three). The rookie also had two rebounds in his 10 minutes — one of which led to this emphatic slam:

Colin Kaepernick calls out the NFL in a post-workout statement: “I’ve been ready for three years”

Colin Kaepernick is taking the league to task.

Colin Kaepernick is taking it to the NFL right now.

He called out the league in a statement to the press after he completed his workout at Charles R. Drew High School in Atlanta with media and team staffers in attendance.

The quarterback took issue with the way the league organized his original workout and he called them out for a lack of transparency throughout the process.

The league tried to get him to sign a waiver absolving them of any liability for employment claims instead of a standard injury waiver. They also wouldn’t allow media to report or record live from the workout nor would they tell him what receivers he’d be working with.

Kaepernick said he’s been ready to play, but the league has denied him at every turn over the last three years. He called out the NFL and all 32 of its owners in his statement.

“I’ve been ready for three years. I’ve been denied for three years. We all know why I came out here and showed it today in front of everybody. We have nothing to hide. So we’re waiting for the 32 owners, the 32 teams, Roger Goodell, all of them to stop running,” Kaepernick said.

It remains to be seen whether Kaepernick will get another shot in the NFL. But one thing was made clear today: He hasn’t lost his touch. Apparently, some NFL executives agree.

He can still play. As Kaepernick said, the ball is in the NFL’s court now. All that’s left to do is play the waiting game — again.

WATCH: Ohio State cornerback Shaun Wade makes incredible interception

Ohio State cornerback Shaun Wade made a circus interception Saturday against Rutgers.

Some of the Ohio State skill position players made some unbelievable, highlight-worthy plays Saturday against Rutgers. Wide receiver Chris Olave hauled in a deep ball that you have to rewatch no less than six times, but he wasn’t the only one making circus catches.

On the other side of the ball, cornerback Shaun Wade had himself a pretty remarkable interception. While dropping back in coverage, and with his head turned to the ball, he was able to look back at just the right moment, get his hand in the way for a deflection, then somehow find the ball on the way to the ground and snatch it before it hit the ground.

If you didn’t get a chance to see it the first time, or just want to re-live it, click on the below shared by BTN on Twitter and rewind and replay it.

These high-profile guys on offense and defense are making some of these plays look easy, but they are far from it.
