Report: Tyler Lockett flying back to Seattle, expected to play vs. Eagles

Seattle Seahawks star receiver Tyler Lockett is expected to play in Week 12 after getting the go-ahead to fly back home from California.

Seahawks star wide receiver Tyler Lockett is flying back to Seattle today, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He spent the last few days at a Bay Area hospital for precautionary reasons after suffering a lower leg contusion in Monday night’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Lockett did not play at all in the overtime period on Monday and was sent to a hospital with swelling in his leg. The team opted to leave him in California as a safety measure, and he remained there on Tuesday as well.

Lockett is on his way back on Wednesday, via Seahawks owner Jody Allen’s private plane, and he is expected to play in Week 12 against the Eagles in Philadelphia, according to Schefter. The Seahawks have a Week 11 bye.

Lockett is in the midst of a Pro Bowl-caliber season, racking up a career-high 62 receptions for 793 yards and six touchdowns through the first 10 games.

Joe Harris: Nets’ ‘compete level was a lot higher’ vs. Jazz

Tuesday’s loss in Phoenix was tough, but the Nets’ loss to the Jazz was an even tougher pill to swallow.

As bad as the blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns was, Tuesday’s 119-114 loss to the Utah Jazz was an even tougher pill for the Nets to swallow. Brooklyn had what looked like a comfortable lead at halftime, but wound up losing in a nail-biter.

As Kenny Atkinson pointed out to reporters in Utah, there are no moral victories from a loss, but the Nets did show signs of growth. In particular, the Net finally attacked their opponent early in the game — something they haven’t done much to start 2019-20.

Though the Nets had an advantage over the Jazz with Utah being on the second game of a back-to-back, Joe Harris felt the first half result was an accurate depiction of Brooklyn’s intensity in the first half, per Tom Dowd of BrooklynNets.com.

The compete level was a lot higher. Against Phoenix that was uncharacteristic of us, not what we want Brooklyn Nets basketball to be about. And tonight we did a much better job just coming in, having effort from the get-go. There was a couple miscues here and there but that happens over the course of the game, but the effort, the compete level was there all night.

The Kansas City Chiefs could have several first time Pro Bowl selections in 2020.

RT Mitchell Schwartz

There’s perhaps no member of the Chiefs more deserving of a trip to the Pro Bowl than veteran right tackle Mitchell Schwartz. He was deserving last season but only received the nod as an alternate. The injuries along the offensive line for Kansas City this season have only magnified how great Schwartz is.

Schwartz has yet to allow a sack on the season and has only had two penalties called on him. His dominance in pass protection isn’t his only asset, though, Schwartz is also a force in the ground game. Some of the best runs of the season in Kansas City have been sprung by Schwartz. Just look to the blocking he did on the 91-yard touchdown run from RB Damien Williams in Week 9.

Before suffering an injury in Week 10, Schwartz had a snap streak of 7,894, spanning the course of seven-and-a-half NFL seasons. He’d never missed a snap in his entire career. Schwartz returned to the game three plays later, proving once again that he’s indestructible and one of the most impressive offensive linemen in football today.
